Hey Wizards, hope you're all doing well and enjoyed the vid 🧙♂This was certainly a long one for only 10 rankings and honorables and I learned a good number of new things throughout this vid that I didn't know before. Hopefully I could teach you something new too :) Which Daedric Artifact do you think looks the most badass? 🔥 *FAQs* 👇 Q: Doesn’t the Unofficial Patch mod allow the Daedric Artifacts to benefit from Smithing perks? 🧙♂️: It does indeed, I forgot to mention that. With the Unofficial Patch mod, all Daedric Artifacts (weapons and armor) will benefit from a smithing perk. Q: What about the Ring of Khajiit? 🧙♂️: Truth be told, I must have completely missed it and skimmed over the Fishing Creation entirely! Apologies for that. But with that being said, the effect on the ring is rather cool; “You move 10% faster. Allows you to cast the spell "Hide”. I wouldn’t rank it in the top 10 but would definitely mention it in the honourable mentions. Q: Why bother with Daedric Artifacts when you can make your own with max smithing and max enchanting? 🧙♂: There are certainly benefits of crafting your own gear and I won’t argue against that, instead, I’ll offer some reasons as to why you might choose Daedric Artifacts (unique weapons and armor): 1. Daedric Artifacts all have a unique look to them, most looking pretty badass imo. 2. Most Daedric Artifacts can be retrieved at the beginning or very close to the beginning of the game offering a great early advantage. 3. Most Daedric Artifacts have unobtainable enchantments on them and they’re pretty darn good (Dawnbreaker, Mehrunes Razor and Wabbajack are great examples). 4. Some Daedric Artifacts have innate enchantments and never need to be recharged, but if anything does need to be recharged, Azura’s got your back with her star or The Black Star. 5. While nearly all Daedric Artifacts do not benefit from Smithing perks in vanilla Skyrim, the Unofficial Patch changes this allowing all Daedric Artifacts to benefit from smithing perks. 6. One could use the Restoration loop (before installing the Unofficial Patch) to improve any unique weapon or armor until satisfied. You don’t have to go overboard with the loop either, so long as you use it sensibly and can produce upgrades of realistic quality for your level.
Wabbajack is one of the few daedric artifacts that's given by doing something good, like curing pelagius nightmares, insecurities and fears, seems rather wholesome

I never dug in the Skyrim universe, until now. And maaaan am i overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff this game has. I just got the Thane of whiterun and i am confused what to do next but seeing this video gave me some objectives to pursue. Thank you sir!
The Dawnbreaker is to much of a great benefit in one's arsenal but I never liked it for how "good" it was, like too good but it is a perfect and ideal weapon for Dawnguard as vampires count as undead.
I like dawn breaker for a few reasons 1. I fight the undead all the time, 2. By doing a duplicating glitch I make a few copies to give all of my followers, 3. As a vampire lord my self it always glowes for me and so I can get just a little bit more light. Though I usually use night vision as a VL, but it makes it easier to find my followers in the dark.
Yeah, Draugr have to be one of the most common enemies in Skyrim, if not, the most common, and so having a weapon dedicated to slaying these undead as well as other undead proficiently is awesome! And it looks cool too 😎 Also, if you’re needing some light, don’t forget Candlelight and be careful as a vampire, as Dawnbreaker’s explosion will deal you damage.
@@theWelshWizard was my favorite weapon though the explosion thing never happened for me, was that a later patch? Mind you I had legendary edition with all 4 expansions. Also did ever keep copies of the unique weapons, such as the rusty mace that turns into malog-bols mace? You can do so by putting it in a weapon rack at one of you houses and then killing the dude inside the cage. You might could do a video on unique quest items you can keep by using a glitch or pickpoketing from who you deliver it to.
Nice vid! One added bonus to Dawnbreaker: there is a second on the floor of the final dungeon room, so it can be dual wielded, or both you and a follower can have one for roleplay purposes.
The Black Star is by far my favorite and most memorable artifact for me. I will never forget how much easier it made my Skyrim life after I first got it. When you dont have it, it can be pretty annoying to keep casting soul trap on enemies to fill soul gems with the right type of souls just to recharge your enchanted weapons. And if I remember well, the biggest soul gem stones are pretty hard to find, and expensive if you buy them. With Azura's Stars, you never have to worry about that process again.
Yeah, it really is a huge time-saver and money-saver, especially The Black Star variant as it captures all types of souls. Though, this seems to be a bug/glitch as Nelecar claims that it can only capture Black Souls… not that any of us are complaining 👀
I really enjoy your level of presentation. You could've just shown still images of the artifacts while talking about them, but you went the extra mile and it's really entertaining
I remember finding Pyrite shrine by accident and getting the Spellbreaker - and the number of times it has saved my noob ass was staggering. Still one of my most favorite peaces of weaponry/armor in the game - together with mace of Molag Bal and Dawnbreaker
I do think it would be cool to make a follow up video talking about which one you prefer in terms of looks. That would be fun. From the artifacts I remember (prior to watching the video) The Skull of Corruption looks pretty cool, and I like how it looks pretty gruesome. Wabbajack is cool, I like the design of the head, but it could use more detailing or contrast with colors Dawnbreak is an interesting one for me, I like it, just wished it glowed more Volendrung is probably the most awesome looking Warhammers in the game (Other than the Champion Cudgel) Mace of Molag Bal is probably one of my favorites
fun little tid bit bout dawnbreaker, there's a coding over sight. If you kill the mage in the temple of Meridia before he can get to dawn breaker's pedestal you can have two dawn breakers. One from the sheath and one dropped by the mage.
I'm not sure if it just happens with Bow of Shadows but I've noticed when you're crouched if you pull the bow off your back while crouched then you'll move a lot faster than any base crouch movment. You can really see it in 3rd person.
That's the normal behavior of bows in Skyrim. It helps when you're over-encumbered: pull out a bow and notch it. Just don't release accidentally into guards or something. Same effect when crouched.
A Wizard has to make tough choices so they can show off the best magic to the world, but that is always why I love Wizards and why I play a Mage in any game that you can play a mage or wizard... Love you and you're videos Welsh Wizard keep doing the best you can and being the best wizard on the internet!

For easy soul trapping capabilities for recharging a specific weapon if you have dawnguard, use the soul trap shout on humans with the black star. Or on animals with azuras star. And make sure to take a few swings first before using it. Really easy, especially in the bandit camp near whiteruns west tower.
So nice to see you back, Master Wizard. Excellent work, as always. For another video, if it catches your fancy, could you rank the Shouts added by the Thunderchild mod? It’s understandable if you don’t, just thought it’d be cool.

You know something that bothers me about the Black Star? You're going against the wishes of Azura.... One of, if not, THE most wrathful Daedric Princes.... Like, this lady cursed a whole race of Mer because 3 of them wanted to be Gods. And according to one story, killed some Dwemer who tried to trick her. Why does she let the Dragonborn off so easy here...? I feel like there should have been SOME punishment for taking the Black Star instead of Azura's Star....
Yeah, that’s true 🤔 perhaps her revenge on us will take more time and planning because we are the LDB. But yeah, from a role playing perspective, siding with Nelecar sure is risky business!
Yeah, I have seen that glitch lol but never actually tried it. Though, I’m sure I dual wielded them with the duplication glitch at some point ⚔️ 2 will send draugr into a coma 😅
The story of the ebony blade and how it gained its ability to vanish from mortal hands when used for too long, thank alanwe for that. nerien'et could've been very powerfull if he wasnt defeated in the end Ps: i don't know how many times I've turned my own char into a pile of dust and still kept using the dawn breaker 🤣🤣🤣
Black star definitely deserves the number one spot imo. If your build can at all utilize it, its basically a necessity because of how useful it is. That being said, late game its usefulness dies off a little because you get access to places with soul gems that respawn like the College of Winterhold, but it will never be useless.
there is an exploit with the dawnbreaker where if you use unrelenting force on it before taking it, you could get 2, essentially dual wielding dawnbreaker
I like weapon that are innate with enchantments, makes it feel more unique. Also having just an elemental damage seems boring to me Kinda wished more of the creation club items had better enchantments, and surprisingly the crusader armor is a pain to wear cause if you do ONE misdead, the armor because a bag of boulders strapped onto you. Plus the enchantments aren't as useful compared to Oblivion where I could wear that armor until the end of the game where this just is meh
Yeah, and it's nice to know that you'll never have to recharge, otherwise, Azura's Star/Black Star is a must! And I agree, I prefer absorption effects myself
I managed to get a duplicate Dawnbreaker in my unmodded game. Gave the second to Lydia (who I'm RPing as "as a Champion of Whiterun, Lydia survives the entire game at my side") and she goes hard with it.
It's crazy for me how more than a decade later we all still love Skyrim and the entire Elder Scrolls series. Just shows how great Bethesda is at making some of the best RPG's in the world. I think the fact that they allow mods even on systems is what makes them so damn great!
That's very true, modding sure has kept this game thriving! I hope other RPGs take note and allow for more modding, as it greatly increases the logevity of any game
That was awesome! next ranking vid idea; summonables! or eeeh, things you can summon that will fight for you. ikd what those are called. it would be really interesting for you to cover which atronach/dremora n such is the strongest and most efficient. :3
Just in terms of pure utility, I think the Masque of Clavicus Vile is very nice. Before 95 speech skill it is the best headwear for buying and selling for sure, but there's more! You can combine it with an amulet of dibella (buy at radiant raiment at low levels), shrine of dibella (temple of the divines in solitude, temple of dibella in markarth, or haelga's bunkhouse in riften), and the gift of charity (give a nearby beggar 1 coin). With those 4 benefits combined, you will have 45 (!!) extra speech skill for challenging speech checks. That will allow you to pass every speech check at 30 speech skill except the one at the mage's college, which would need 55 speech skill in this setup.
Yeah, I very nearly added the Masque to the top 10 as its armor is also very good! For the sake of earning and saving just a bit more gold though and with an armor rating you can find on other headgear, those were my reasons for it being an honourable mention. You’re certainly right though, combining the Masque with the same effect is beneficial for speech checks, but don’t forget about the Amulet of Articulation!
My favorites: Volendrung. It is just a sick and unique looking hammer and does very well on my wall ;) Mace of Molag Bal. Another sick looking deadric artifcact. The Black Star. There are so many human enemies, so getting big souls is easier than anything else. On Azuras Star you would need to find a giant or similar creature.

I never dug in the Skyrim universe, until now. And maaaan am i overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff this game has. I just got the Thane of whiterun and i am confused what to do next but seeing this video gave me some objectives to pursue. Thank you sir!
Your welcome!
"Skyrim universe" ah yes
It's elder scrolls universe, friend.
Spell breaker is a useful sheild to block not just draugr thu'ums, but also lesser dragon thu'ums.
The arch mage is back! He’s returned to tamriel with another banger!
Good to see ya Alibium :)
And it looks cool too 😎
Also, if you’re needing some light, don’t forget Candlelight and be careful as a vampire, as Dawnbreaker’s explosion will deal you damage.
I just give them torches :)
Really good content with charm and personality, keep up the great work
Much appreciated! :)
One of the best! Loved it
Thank you so much Alibium, it means a lot! ❤
Thanks man! It’s really great hear someone appreciate even the smallest details - makes the extra effort worth the time 😊
I remember finding Pyrite shrine by accident and getting the Spellbreaker - and the number of times it has saved my noob ass was staggering. Still one of my most favorite peaces of weaponry/armor in the game - together with mace of Molag Bal and Dawnbreaker
Shield on back mod so you can still dual wield weapons? Sounds cool! ⚔️
This video is higher quality than any tier/rating skyrim video any other creator has made. Great video!
Wow, thank you! Really appreciate that :)
2:08 not just innocents, the person must be a friend of the wielder for the blade to power up
Recently started playing Skyrim, and your videos started popping up so if anything it seems like this isn't coincidence.
I would love a ranking based on LORE! as to which lorewise is more powerful/busted/unreal! Ty for the video
Thanks for the idea and thank you for watching!
Lore wise, skeleton key would top with the whole metaphysical unlocking of potential
@@koLdZ1 People seem to be forgetting about the Oghma Infinium..
Umbra also has some very interesting lore
I do think it would be cool to make a follow up video talking about which one you prefer in terms of looks. That would be fun.
From the artifacts I remember (prior to watching the video)
The Skull of Corruption looks pretty cool, and I like how it looks pretty gruesome.
Wabbajack is cool, I like the design of the head, but it could use more detailing or contrast with colors
Dawnbreak is an interesting one for me, I like it, just wished it glowed more
Volendrung is probably the most awesome looking Warhammers in the game (Other than the Champion Cudgel)
Mace of Molag Bal is probably one of my favorites
fun little tid bit bout dawnbreaker, there's a coding over sight. If you kill the mage in the temple of Meridia before he can get to dawn breaker's pedestal you can have two dawn breakers. One from the sheath and one dropped by the mage.
Ahh, that's explains how I randomly ended up with two of them years ago. Had no idea how it happened lol
Loved the video. That thumbnail had me clicking, monster thumbnails will pull in.
Glad you enjoyed! And that's good to hear about the thumbnail 👍
I'm not sure if it just happens with Bow of Shadows but I've noticed when you're crouched if you pull the bow off your back while crouched then you'll move a lot faster than any base crouch movment. You can really see it in 3rd person.
That might be the Ranger perk I think 🤔
That's the normal behavior of bows in Skyrim. It helps when you're over-encumbered: pull out a bow and notch it. Just don't release accidentally into guards or something. Same effect when crouched.
Wow someone who actually still makes skyrim content thank god
Wydm theirs a lot…
My favorite wabbajack mishap: fighting an assassin in solitude, turned him into a pile of gold coins.
A Wizard has to make tough choices so they can show off the best magic to the world, but that is always why I love Wizards and why I play a Mage in any game that you can play a mage or wizard... Love you and you're videos Welsh Wizard keep doing the best you can and being the best wizard on the internet!
Thanks for the kinds words man, appreciate it! 😊
Always love your amazing content. You are the Gandalf of Skyrim.
You have a naturally very calming voice, how about, hear me out, Skyrim - Top 10 Vacation Spots (with Honourable Mentions)??
Maybe you can tell us about the Cloud District, I am sure a Wizard of your calibre has been there.
So glad to have finally found a fellow welshman on RUclips!!🎉
“Oh, thank you! Divines bless your kind heart.”
Thanks for watching! And that’s a good idea, but I’ve already started my next one.. maybe in future though 👍
@@theWelshWizard cool beans! And no worries about when, take whatever time you need. A wizard arrives precisely when he means to after all.
And thank you!
The ebony blade is the best for a few reasons:
1. It's fast
2. Absorbs health
3. Pairs perfectly with the dark brotherhood armor
4. It's badass
If I could I would donate to you, and you're the only content creator I would say that for. Simply amazing video and your voice is perfect for the commentary. Keep up the great work.
Thank you man, that is very kind of you to say ☺️ and don’t feel like you have to donate at all, likes and comments like this are more than enough and still have a huge impact! I tweaked my voice again for this one and think I’ve found the sweet spot now 👌 glad to hear it sounded good too! Thanks again :)
The way you showcased the ebony blade the same you would as if you completed the quest, after plate glitching, made me chuckle and subscribe
Haha, welcome Wizard! 🧙♂️
Spellbreaker + Warlock Ring = Unstoppable 😋
I did think about this but it looks like Warlock's Ring and Spellbreaker do not stack: en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Warlock%27s_Ring
Keep it up dear Wizard your videos are amazing and I wish you the best. ROAD TO 100K
Thanks a ton man! Really appreciate the kind words as well as the donation 🧙♂️💯👍
DEFINITELY don't use Dawnbreaker as a vampire...learned that one the hard way
I love your thumbnail for this video, very inspiring art!
ebony mail plus full stealth skill equals watching the life drain from some poor bastard as you crouch just inches from them, fading into nothing 😈
Excellent video and I love your “Gandalf “ Outfit!
Lore wise: Azura’s Star, hands down
Gameplay wise: Black Star is the only way to go
I've been waiting for this one😭
Fun Fact: You can take 2 Dawnbreakers. Meridia wants you to double the fun. 😂
Yeah, I have seen that glitch lol but never actually tried it. Though, I’m sure I dual wielded them with the duplication glitch at some point ⚔️ 2 will send draugr into a coma 😅
I found 20 of them
Just got here from recommendation just one video and I'm already a Big Fan
The story of the ebony blade and how it gained its ability to vanish from mortal hands when used for too long, thank alanwe for that.
nerien'et could've been very powerfull if he wasnt defeated in the end
Ps: i don't know how many times I've turned my own char into a pile of dust and still kept using the dawn breaker 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, it's pretty cruel story! But I guess you can't expect much less from the Webspinner
@@theWelshWizard argreed, but alanwe saved alot of lives by what she did
@@Rex-The-Wolf that’s true
i didnt know about dawnbreaker with vampires…
thanks for saving me from a few deaths!
Black star definitely deserves the number one spot imo. If your build can at all utilize it, its basically a necessity because of how useful it is. That being said, late game its usefulness dies off a little because you get access to places with soul gems that respawn like the College of Winterhold, but it will never be useless.
this video was soo cool and nicely edited! subscribed!
Thank you! Welcome to the college 🧙♂️
Babe wake up, another theWelshWizard vid!
You should rank these again, but by how much I personally, specifically, enjoy them!
there is an exploit with the dawnbreaker where if you use unrelenting force on it before taking it, you could get 2, essentially dual wielding dawnbreaker
What do you plan to do with that hammer friend? Knock down a house?
Volundrung was always my favorite weapon. Great video ❤️
I like weapon that are innate with enchantments, makes it feel more unique. Also having just an elemental damage seems boring to me
Kinda wished more of the creation club items had better enchantments, and surprisingly the crusader armor is a pain to wear cause if you do ONE misdead, the armor because a bag of boulders strapped onto you.
I once ran a melee rogue build where I had both Mehrunes razor and luckys dagger.
Named my character "Two Shanks Bleakwake"
Yessssss been waiting for this one!
Great video man! As always high quality and entertaining. Keep up the great work!
Thanks a ton David! Glad you enjoyed 😊
"Nothing get cheddar than this."
That's a very gouda cheese pun. 😂
You are awesome bro! You deserve the subs!!!! Even in 2023 Skyrim is a forever gem!
Once again, masterfully done!
Awesome vid, loving the format!🤌🏻
More to come!
@@theWelshWizard Great to hear!🙌🏻🐉
I love your format. Keep posting
I managed to get a duplicate Dawnbreaker in my unmodded game. Gave the second to Lydia (who I'm RPing as "as a Champion of Whiterun, Lydia survives the entire game at my side") and she goes hard with it.
His thumbnail is literally my go to set up for my breton paladin
I’m literally way too excited to see how this video ends. I can only think of 3 that would be contenders, I’m can’t wait!
Great video, but I really wanna say that the thumbnail is incredible!
I would have honestly loved a complete tier list of all of them, though I'm also a sucker for long videos
Maybe in future! Tier list of all houses coming soon 🏡
Great video! Now I'm on a quest to collect every Daedric artifact I can!
Thank you Specules, love the vids
My favorites:
Volendrung. It is just a sick and unique looking hammer and does very well on my wall ;)
Mace of Molag Bal. Another sick looking deadric artifcact.
The Black Star. There are so many human enemies, so getting big souls is easier than anything else. On Azuras Star you would need to find a giant or similar creature.
All very good choices 👌
The quality put into these videos is criminal. Great job
Thanks!
@@theWelshWizard It's literally criminal, the cyber police are on their way right now.
I feel like it would be interesting to see you top 10 dadric artifacts based off of their lore if that's somthing that you would do.
You’re very entertaining man. Great channel 👍🏼
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed 😊
The boss music from the final fight for Umbra slaps, as an added bonus.
The Dremora dialogue is the best part:
“I. Smell. WEAKNESS.”
Gotta love the Dremora's lines!
yet another nice video 👌🏽
