So,
1) procrastinate procrastinating 😉
2) get started on the hard task
3) break tough tasks down to smaller steps
4) be kind to yourself
5) schedule your procrastination.
6) come up with your why.
You cannot steer a parked car.
I've learned from you,
1. Knowledge is not power. It is potential power, it only becomes a power when we use it, utilize it.
2. There's no such thing as a good or bad memory. There's only such thing as trained memory and untrained memory.
3. If knowledge is your power, learning is your superpower.
4. The faster you could learn, the more fast you could earn.
5. Practice does not make the man perfect. Practice makes progress.
1. Procrastinate about procrastination (meaning that you put it off/delay for later day or even other day)
2. Start somewhere (Use Zeigarnik effect to your advantage, which means by starting something you most likelly will want to finish what you started)
3. Break it (task) down to bite-size pieces
4. Be kind and light to yourself (beating yourself up for not doing something actually has a reverse effect on what you're trying to do)
5. Schedule it
(BONUS) 6. Come up with your 'why' (Use purpose as driving fuel to keep doing what you need/want to do), understand your why behind the task, what you'll get from it. Use visualisation/imagination as a tool to see the results that you want, so to speak tap into the reasons for your action.
Thank you, you are so kind 💜
This is awesome! I was wondering if someone took the time to write down a summary of this episode on procrastination. Thank you so much! I really appreciate how detailed your notes are.
I'm an excellent procrastinator regarding what makes me feel uncomfortable... So, procrastinating discomfort and working through what has been fearful will be a cinch no longer tightened around me or "my" light! He he he... Start, closure, start, closure... Hmmm, I have been so aggravated by what has been unfinished business (conversations and honest action) in my life for far too long... With holding my truth (on account of what I was fearful regarding) did not remove my horror of what I feared but put me in an awkward and uncomfortable juxtaposition with this as to being "myself" which was always HEAVEN! I guess it's time I take the plunge and allow my imperfections to come to full light!
Start with your "Why?"; Then put it on your schedule and just start somewhere. Don't beat yourself up if you drop the ball...just pick it up again and realize you are human and move forward starting somewhere again.
Thank you for your advice, Jim. Listening it with my kids about procrastinate procrastinating👍
The most important lesson I learned is, I CAN!
Do you have one for the person who chronically doesn't finish what they start because they don't have staying power?
Thank you for your amazing teaching!
Thank you Jim for the Great video❣️Power is in the Energy❣️🚀🌟Love&Light
“You can’t steal a parked car”, I really like that.

Thanks for this amazing video! the 1 thing that makes me procrastinate is the quantity of chapters in my books I have to study and the fact that I think I am not effective and productive as I would like to be. How many hours can we study and focus 1,2 or 3 hours ? after how many hours can we take a break so we can work effectively. If you have some tips I would love to hear from you Thank you :)
85afa,he states that after 20minutes our attention drops drastically. So to break our study periods into 20minute chunks. How many of those consecutively we can do I do not have the answer to. Need to find what works for yourself as everyone is different
you have to put in the effort and find out yourself what works the best for YOU, only then the rewards will come to you.
Hello, Kwik. Nice to meet you via RUclips again. I found you through MindValley. I love your insights and became your huge fan! I need your help for children. I don't know how I can persuade them to learn English. What would you do if you want them to do? If you make something for this, I will introduce it to Japanese and Korean kids and people through my website.
If you don't mind, I can give you a good insight into teaching kids English. I ain't Jim Kwik xD but I do have a basic understanding on the psychology of persuasion. Firstly, if the children don't want to learn English, it will take dramatically longer to understand and digest.
Firstly give them a reason. That "why?" must overweight their lack of interest. So do a survey! Make it into a playful activity. Ask questions that target their wants, desires or even fears.
For instance, ask questions like, "What English speaking country would you like to visit? - How would you feel if you had another language in your arsenal?"
Additionally, let me give you a few questions that target their fears. For example, "How would your parents feel if they found out you speak another language fluently? Would they be happy or sad - proud or disappointed? (Asian culture is built upon the importance of family, utilise it) - How would you feel going to an English speaking country all alone without being able to communicate with the people? How would you feel? (Alienation, chaos, fear, these factors also play a huge role).
I used this method to teach my 13-year-old cousin English, he is the best in his class :D. The whole point of the persuasion is making them believe they "chose" to learn English. It is the ability to give them the illusion of wanting to learn English.
In other words the illusion of control. However, we both know that you pulled a few strings to make it happen. Manipulation plays a huge role. However, you shouldn't deem it as a bad thing, especially if it's for the sake of helping others. If you don't like the term "manipulation" then use the term "misdirection".
Good luck.
🖤
Scare yourself! That's the only way to get anyone's butt moving. A frightened soul will do and finish things he never thought he could.
No it breeds an anxious mind, its works short term only.
Okkk🤔🤔
Let's see what happens with these techniques
Don't see, put your effort and make it see!
