To be fair, what was to stop him from, in future nightime sleeps, dream himself back onto this Island... the saved evil free Post-Game Version, to visit & chill, especially with Marin? :)
I love how they kept the Game Boy music as a bassline here and there. Not just for the nostalgia factor, but it gives it that bit of "roughness" that's hard to replicate with a more orchestrated or string-based soundtrack.
I was thinking the other day that it sounded like someone riding a horse in a western, glad to see someone else was also thinking about something along those lines, although I like that Burro Loco thing x)
I mean, I think the new graphic style is pretty cute, but the old GB sprites will always be better for me. The OST, tho? This version of Tal Tal Heights is fucking amazing, lol.
I'm in the minority of being pretty hit or miss with a lot of what they've done with the game compared to the original, but man they fucking *nailed* this one
dude i havent played neither games but having listened to both versions of this song IM SO GLAD THEY HONORED THE OG BY ADDING THE CHIPTUNE PORTIONS, they're so clevery put in and like actually fit?? i got goosebumps literally
Just farm rupees by getting less than 30 seconds in the river race over and over, just look up the quickest route and boom it’s about 200 rupees per 45 seconds
@@grigoriyefimovichrasputin7897 facts, especially fighting monsters up there, caring a blue rooster, saving a red-head girl with your hook shot, I mean, how’d she even get there in the first place?
About 25 years ago I got as far as beating the 2nd dungeon. Never really played another Zelda game afterward. ALWAYS remembered this theme (which probably distracted me). Finally went back and beat the Gameboy version on switch Feb 2023.
what i would like you to do is boot up your copy of the game, and go to where this song plays. notice that the location popup appears, and tells you you're in the Tal Tal Mountains. then walk back down one screen. notice that the music changes back to the original overworld theme. notice also that the location popup appears, and reads Tal Tal Heights. this is the theme of the Tal Tal Mountain Range. not Tal Tal Heights. and if i have to explain this to one more person? i'm gonna fucking explode. _stop calling it that_
Flashlight237 I think knew this version of the game and all the parts they upgraded were meant to enhance your memory of the original, not abandon it. So if a part worked well, they might try to keep it? As someone that never really played the original, the parts where it sounds like an 8 bit game don’t stick out like a sore thumb even tho you might expect them to
Oh believe me, it gets plenty of recognition, specially to us old school fans who played the game back in our Gameboys. This theme is incredibly popular here too back in RUclips's early days.
The Sailor Scouts playing this melody, with Michiru on the violin, Rei on the castanets, Haruka on the cello, Minako on the flute, Setsuna on the bassoon and the others on the violins.
Personally, I prefer the original for the heightened energy it has. This feels like great traveling music. The original felt like the epic finale at the end of the journey.
Such a great song. Would have been great to listen to the whole song if I don't have to enter a cave every 5 seconds in Tal Tal Heights
Ooooooo just you wait till endgame homie
Darko201027 that’s a different version of the song tho
I would probably say same if i actually had the game
That’s the fucking worst, it ruins that part of the game
true
That little chiptune undertone at 0:40 gave me a shiver and sent me back 26 years to when this song first blew my mind.
silly. this game isn't 26 years old

I can’t help but just imagine a line of crabs on the shores of Koholint island snapping away furiously. Delightful.
Now I can't unsee -- er, unhear that. Thanks! Haha
I can imagine the crabs raving
This is a kick ass track. I’ve played this game from start to finish on my switch and I was glad to have experienced this game.
Huh, bull fighting on Mt. Tamarach. Whouda thunk it? I need to get some castanets to play along with it.
Sounds like Link's riding on horseback, off to save crying senoritas from the clutches of a vicious bandit by the name of
'El Burro Loco'
"The crazy donkey" is making a return in botw2
Your comment gave me Mule Kick vibes from CoD Zombies lol

about to play the game and now I will think of this comment when I get to Tal Tal😂
This song has been scientifically proven to raise a Link main’s skill by at least 200%
Science say : song related to smash main give boost
As a DDD main, roar of dedede make me land 100% n-air -> back air true
Going up mountains be like

The music transcriber's dream. Clear and distinguishable instruments/parts and notes.
wish the music would play though the caves :(
I think if it would be a little faded and echoed it would be good.

Let's take a good soundtrack and let's make it perfect
This and Ballad of the Wind Fish are my favorites from the original. I'm glad Nintendo did it justice.
Link the conquistador on his way to wipe out an island he just discovered

Better than gerudo valley
When it comes back in and uses the 8-bit sounds, ohhh my godddduh.
this is this game's gerudo valley
Awesome how when it repeats it doesn't sound exactly the same.
Honestly I loved seeing how eventide island in botw was a reference to koholint island.
Whenever I played the original, this is how I heard it in my head. I always would add melodies or harmonies to whatever song I was listening to.
SAME
That mariachi trumpet at 1:30 tho
This brings back memories of the little 8 year old boy in his self made cave with Gameboy 🥺

Me too. My sisters gave it as a birthday present a week ago, and I’m enjoying every second spent on it. The soundtrack is MAJESTIC

For me, nothing will ever beat the original.. However, Nintendo did an excellent job of remastering the theme. Love the game so far.
Interestingly enough, there were parts in the remastered version where the original would play in the background.
