I stared at this thing for like 20 minutes after taking all the screws out trying to figure out how the heck I was going to get that off and that was a perfect explanation. A little bit unnerving at first but after that no big deal.

The M.2 screw is the same as the one for the HDD bracket, according to the service manual from HP. Update: Woops! I was wrong, the M.2 screw is NOT the same screw. However, the screws that fix the bracket to the board will work. I installed a 512 GB M.2 Series SSD using this screw and it worked fine. But you're right, if you one wants it to be OEM they'll have to get it somewhere else. Thanks for the vid! very useful.

@@chrish6659there is no limit. The limit is what you can afford and fit in the slots. You can use 2 16gb sticks if you want.

Thanks for video, what a pain in the butt even after watching video. You kept me from throwing the computer at the wall. The fan plug was a nightmare.

The laptop came with ssd 250gb and I added an hdd 750 gb, added an 8gb ram, in total 16gb. And opened the case for more ventilation. Everything worked

Of course I know what they are. Not necessary if you know what you're doing. In the thousands of computers I've worked on, I've never had an issue.

If it's the same type. You'll need to install the OS on it. If you just swap it, you'll likely have a lot of issues.
