Hi I had done this and successfully repasted my laptop thanks to this video, it had a GPU chip which would be placed top-left of the CPU chip. But I ran into an issue, one of the USB ports you can see on the top left, the 2nd one from the top left stopped working, is the flex/ribbon cable that you detached responsible for those ports? If so, it could be that my cable was dirty or not inserted properly.
What's weird that only one of the ports isn't working, if the cable had damage, shouldn't both ports stop working or is the 1st USB port connected elsewhere?

Regarding your question, i would highly recommend you to remove the flex cable that connectign the left board to mainboard, and flip and check and see if the flex cable pins are intact and are not damaged (they should be straight), if so re insert the cable all the way inside the jack, maybe you only inserted half and that is why only one usb and half making contact.

double check the cable and connectors and reopen and check the connections, something is not plugged right.
