- Just over 200 photos/ videos compressed into a 14 minute video. The project started on Dec 25th 2019 and as of August 2020 it is nearly finished. It has taken an enormous amount of time but well worth it!
The camper isn't 100% finished as the last few small details never seem to stop appearing. But it's close enough for this video.
If you have any suggestions for improvements / upgrades leave them in the comment section.

It just amazes me that almost anyone can make their own trailer as long as they have the right materials and know what they're doing.
If you think about it, anything is possible with the right mindset and a little RUclips.
Super cool! I love it! Hope you continues to make videos
Awesome job!
Great vid. I had issues with varnish not drying too. I like the natural look with stain over pain, but getting it finished is best. Good wiring.
It is like a fine wine.
Great project, love the way you were not afraid to try different finishes and then change them if they did not work out. Definitely a good idea to paint the sides. The metal look is cool but I bet shows up every imperfection.
Your a klever guy, Bjorn. I love that build.
Good job!
very good work =)
Awesome 😯👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great!
it would have been so cool if you put the 60amp hour battery in the teardrop trailer as range extender and place to stay. Wow the things you could run... heat pump and induction cooking.
Hey,
Great build!
would love to see an update on this build. What you are happy with and what not as well as what you would differently if given the chance.
Thanks! I just started building my second teardrop and this time I’m recording the building process. Will be a few videos on that.
But my biggest “mistake” was butting the battery all the way up in the front and making it so front heavy.
Great Piece of Work! Iam also dreaming of E-Camping and thought about to put a i3 chassis underneath a VW T3 Body :-) or modifiying the i3 body in a way hat there would be room for camping.
After your video I put also a Trailer Hicht on my i3 but I had not been so brave to pull a trailer yet.
Awesome! Very inspirational!
That’s sick I though you bought it
You'll regret having only one door.
what material did you use for the steel walls on the outside?
also where did you purchase it?
It is 1mm aluminium (3/64) sheet AW5754. If they had thinner I would have used that. This adds a lot of weight though.
On my second build I mixed AW1050A with the previously used AW5754, and there are some differences as far as flexibility and color. The AW1050A is cheaper, but not as corrosion (oxidation) resistant.
I got it from a local store (Aston Carlsson) here in Stockholm, Sweden.
Hi Bjorn I was wondering where you ordered your doors from? I'm planning to build a teardrop camper in Norway. Awesome build by the way I love it!
Actually I got lucky on eBay with the door, bought it from a seller in UK. But doors are actually hard to find. I've been looking for another one for my next build but can only find them (new) in the US and China now. The door i got was used previously.
Next project is to add solar roof and battery capacity.
Nice build! Planning on making on making the same. How did you made the hatch waterproof so no water can leak in on the edges? Rubber seal?
I had a hard time figuring out how to seal that and what I did seemed to work fine for moderate rainfall. I used a E-shaped rubber seal with adhesive on the back to seal off the sides and bottom. In the top I used weather proofed fabric for awnings that I glued. In retrospect I would probably try to use a thin rubber mat over the top “gap”.
I’m sure the sides could be sealed better.
@@BasinBjorn thanks! I will keep your advice in mind!!
Hi, thx for the video, do you know whats the final weight of the trailer ?
Empty it was about 470kg, But then I added 4 support legs so about 490kg. With some gear, food, water it was about 550-570kg.
You have come a long way, nice job 👍 What is the total weight of the caravan?
It's about 490kg empty or 520kg with some stuff in it.
@@BasinBjornI had expected it some more heavy, Nice job to keep the weight down.
Otroligt snyggt ekipage!
Men lätt ordnat.
Hello! What door do You use for this nice camper?
The door was just a random second hand one that I found on eBay. Not sure what make or so but it was used. Maybe from some other trailer.
How money do you have in it
The total cost for building this was about 6600 usd. But keep in mind that’s local Swedish prices.
Tjusigt bygge 👍
Varifrån kommer dörren?
Gillar lösningen för fönster.
/Martin
Tack!
That’s too much work for a tiny space that you can’t even stand up , should’ve bought a small cargo trailer and do a conversion instead.
It hurt my feelings when he paid the sides on the outside he should have left it all over otherwise good job
