Can we just applaud this man for his unbiased review covering all points fairly? As someone who previously only played on consoles and now mostly plays on PC, I still like them both despite PC being a generally better experience. What drives me nuts are all the elitist fanboys feeling the need to dunk on one another just because "oh wow, you have 8 less power in graphics. So trash!"
The reason i do all my gaming on the pc is simply that i need a pc for other reasons like doing some work on it or organize my phones so i just bought a more souped-up version of a pc that can play games decently enough, games mostly don't really require insane custom rigs. The games themselves are also cheaper to buy so no reason to buy additional systems.
Two points (2.5 really) that I think should be included in these videos: 1. You don't have to build your own PC! While I have always done that and enjoy picking parts and putting it together, I also acknowledge not everyone shares this enjoyment. If you just want to get right into gaming go for a pre built (following 3rd party reviews online to find your best options for your budget). 2. Everyone mentions peripherals needed for PC but neglects that console generally need this too. For my PS5 for example I had to add a NVMe drive because the built in storage was so limiting. My 4k 120hz hdmi 2.1 TV was > $1000. And if the xbox controllers I use with my PC is any indication, I'll have to replace my ps5 controller after a year or two because of stick drift. On the PC side my current keyboard and mouse wern't cheap, but they have lasted for 4 years and show no signs of giving up (I've never had a keyboard or mouse need replacement). 3. Lastly, and probably most importantly, games are SO much cheaper on PC and there are SO many more games. The amount of games is literally magnitudes higher. Apart from the switch I hadn't owned a console since the game cube. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw horizon forbidden West for $125 AU and its been out for what seems like a year now. Gamers helping gamers, love to see it!
THIS! Your 3rd point though is briefly touched at 3:40. GamePass, a Switch, and a medium specced laptop do everything for me. The problem is where to buy games when they are at the same price point. 🥲🥲
@@angelopebs I am getting that issue of choosing platform more and more now. I don't have the option for PC gaming. I have around 1K of money spent on steam and saves are too precious. Steam is currently having a 2023-24 account problem. With steams current method to verify account in support it's simply not possible for me to recover. I wish I could sue them. Also people make the argument well I can't play with a controller on PC, actually you can and it's simply a click of a button, some people say well the GOTY is on console, actually they were all developed tested and played on PC before they were ever put on console every heard of early releases yeah they don't add early release on console, and on that not they have to lower the graphics and delete certain game additions just to release it on Console, In fact some people have gotten to try GTA 6 because it's only being tested on PC, also should I mention the fact most of the games you play on Console are missing about 40% of there content, just play GTA V on PC and you'll see for yourself.
For me, I like both! I play Sims and some older games on PC (I use an old gaming laptop), all my Nintendo stuff on my DS and Switch, and new stuff on my Xbox Series X. I have my old PS3 and my old Xbox 360. I have a huge Xbox backlog, as well as Game Pass, so I use all of them.
I own a gaming PC with a RTX 4090 and thought about selling my Xbox Series X. However, I do play original xbox and xbox 360 games on the Xbox Series X so I keep it around to get all the options. Plus Fable 4, I'm not sure if that will come to PC either.
Friends, friends, family, friends! The KICK of being in tbe same room and able to high-five or shoulder-bump pals when being victorious or shared defeat cannot be underestimated! Consoles will always win on that score.
I used to prefer PC gaming over console gaming but the cost to keep up with the latest games is just too much. Why wouldn’t I just buy a $500 console where I don’t have to stress about if the game can run on my system or not. PC is only better if you have tons of money to invest in your gaming pc, otherwise console is the better option.
@@truereaper4572 I don't play online anyways , since online games are a scam in itself with all the microtransactions bs. I just like simplicity and not having to worry if my PC meets the requirements of the latest games or the games that I want to play.
All my gaming is done either on my gaming laptop or on my collection of classic/mini consoles. The reason I choose PC over consoles can be summed up in one word... Emulation
PS only originally, but Ive recently got myself a basic pc just to get a feel for the difference. In all honesty i still somewhat prefer the feel of console but i just cant fully commit to it anymore as I feel like most games are just rushed and trashy. On the other hand the absolute variety i get from PC is amazing but the price tags associated with simply getting a high end unit or upgrading mine are to steep. I am one of the many conflicted that cant make a choice and stick with it.
This is simple. If you have the money and are someone who plays games more than 8 hours a day and are a tech nerd there is no reason not to be a PC gamer. If not, then console is the way to go.
I have both (5600/7900xt PC, PS5) and I honestly split my time between them. I love to trophy hunt so the lack of an legit equivalent on PC makes it a huge negative for me. Good video although I would like to point out that a lot of games on console work with m&k.
Have you found the achievements on Steam and Epic? And then uplay which seems to be more like the PS5, giving you currency to unlock stuff in game. Lastly xbox game bsr give you points based on time playing games, achievements in Yeh game, etc. Use win key + G on keyboard and have a play around in there. (not sure if it's only gamepass people or not).
@@cynicle Yes I have but they don't hit the same way for me. Even the achievements through the Xbox app don't even make the same sounds or pops as the Xbox itself which is weird. Thanks for your input tho.
Great take on this somewhat controversial topic. As a PC gamer I consider Xbox to be the best console for people looking to get the most out of their money as you always have the option to get emulators. Not to mention Game Pass.
@@greenbrickbox3392 same lmaoo, always been a souls guy but also always been on xbox. bloodborne and demons souls finally made me switch. gonna sell my xbox now cause it’s just collecting dust and i only use my ps5, i cant justify paying to using my internet on 2 consoles lol. thinking about getting a mid tier pc soon but idk cause i already have a new macbook
Lol xbox is dying... ps5 is better for the gaming library. What's the point of buying an xbox when the library is trash. Ps has games that are award winning and best game of the year awards. Its the clear winner. No debate You're buying a console to play games... not buying the console because you like the brand name
Getting my Pc I didn't really think I would be doing Emulation more than anything else. But that seems to be the case. Have a huge collection of ps2 roms, as well as others. and Its just amazing. So many good games to play and complete, or just to enjoy over and over again (I'm lookin at you Burnout 3) with no clear goal other than just play it. On top of being able to upscale resolution, you can compete with more HD remasters. not ones like spyro and crash, but more like the jak and sly games in terms of remasters.
How come the monitor always comes up for PC, but not the TV for a console? Especially with current gen consoles if you want to play at 120fps you'll need a tv that supports HDMI 2.1. You can hook your pc to you tv as well. Also, you can get a prebuilt pc that's just as easy to setup as a console.
STOP EMBARRASSING YOURSELF TALKING ABOUT VISUALS. CONSOLES BEAT THE HELL OUT OF PC FOR BEST GRAPHICS EVERY SINGLE YEAR. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 GARBAGE LOOKING GAMES AT 5000 FRAMES PER SECOND ARE STILL GOING TO LOOK LIKE GARBAGE LOOKING GAMES.
I've been gaming since the NES and 2600, When we got out first PC it was like the world opened. Back then there were console games and PC games with very little bleed over. That has changed over the years and now the one or two games I may want on a console are not worth the cost of the console. Also games on PC are waaaay cheaper. I've been able to get the latest releases for 25 - 50% cheaper day one.
Ive just recently started PC gaming on a mini PC (Minis Forum HX77g) and its as close as i’ll get to a console performance on PC but I wont have to re-buy games to play them on newer hardware. Im not 100% sure right now but atm i think its a PC future for me. Steam sales are raiding my wallet 🤣 I also got my son a gaming laptop and he’s said he’s a PC guy now (he loves keyboard and mouse)
I wanna get a PC but its hard to decide which price of a PC is good enough for good graphics and great FPS. So many PC's iv seen are so expensive that its hard to know which price to start at.
something to keep in mind; PC hardware is so advanced, that even hardware from 6-8 years ago can run most modern games. the gaming industry is so far behind the PC industry, most modern components won't be necessities for probably another decade or two. you can sneak away with some VERY cheap builds right now, because PC hardware tends to drop in price very heavily after a short period of time, which allows you to upgrade your components at a cheaper price than it would be to buy a modern console. PC ownership isn't as expensive as most people think; the initial barrier is honestly the only barrier, because PC games are extremely cheap compared to console games (for reference, only 1/3 of PC games are bought at full price), and we also don't have to pay for online memberships.
PC ONLINE IS FILLED WITH 3RD WORLD CHEATERS, PC LOSES TO PLAYSTATION EVERY YEAR IN BEST VISUALS, AND YOU COULDN'T NAME A GREAT PC EXCLUSIVE IF YOU TRIED. BUT HEY, AT LEAST YOU PAID THOUSANDS TO PLAY BUG RIDDEN CONSOLE PORTS. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
ive been really considering switching to pc but really dont want to build my own so im looking into a pre built pc, nothing crazy tho just to play older games modded and stuff tbh, i have a series x, ps5 and a switch so if i need to use those for games that dont run on my pre built id be fine with that
I just switched to PC and love it, I still do my old ps4 and 3 stuff, because certain old games kick butt,I like PC better, but enjoyed the orator of the video, and his being impartial.
What games are you playing on PS4 that you can't play on pc? There's only a handful of exclusives that you've surely played by now. And can't you just emulate ps3 games?
So in Borderlands 3 I pass items from my ps4 character to pc borderlands 3 characters. I use my ps3 for a cd/dvd player, thats it,so perhaps I did not communicate well . PC is by far more enjoyable, very superiour in performance.@@McGeezle
PC advantages : - Mods & fixes, save datas - Emulators (you can play many console exclusives on PC through emulators) - More tool options ( for ex choose between gamepad and keyboard + mouse which I prefer for shooting games) - More variety of games - More storage and advanced options. Also You can always upgrade your system for the better
@@Gamer-vs3xl M.2s only go up to as far as 2TB commonly, iirc And PCs use not just M.2; SSDs and HDDs work too + I'm unsure if consoles today can take advantage of as many of each of the three at once
Emulators aren't even a advantage at this point. I have a 360 emu, PS2, PS1, GameCube, Wii, NES, SNES, and Dreamcast emu on my Series S. Storage isn't either, since I have 2 terabytes.
The way i am set up you probably think is weird. I use my xbox one x with my tv for controller games. Mouse and keyboard games i do on my computer with a normal monitor
I've been dipping in to PC gaming lately after upgrading my PC but i still prefer console gaming overall. I like that eveything is done for you on a console. There's a lot of tinkering with PC gaming. I quite like doing stuff like that but plug and play is more appealing to me. The best thing about PC gaming tho is emulation imo. I was playing Metroid: Samus Returns the other day with a 3DS emulator with texture packs and 60fps cheats etc and it looks just as good as a Switch game.
Please I am begging you, make a video how to make parsec soda work windows defender does not allow it to work. Parsec soda is very nice for hosting games on parsec software.
I have recently switched the main benefit is better graphics and cheap games. The disadvantage is a good PC to game at 4k will cost you upward of $1,000 and there will be many console exclusives that you will miss out on Example UFC 5, and Spiderman 2. Nowadays you can get a used PS5 digital for under $300.
I switched to PC gaming shortly after playing the RE 2 remake and Sekiro on PS4. No regrets. There is a learning curve but once you get past that you will never go back. PC gamin is the way to go if you want the best possible experience and you are willing to pay for it.
I went from an Xbox one X in 2019 to my first gaming pc, and I've never had more fun gaming. 100% worth the move. I do have a ps5 because I wanted to play god of war ragnarok and Spiderman 2 when it comes out, but other than those few select games I never touch it.
I want to have the 4090 or when nvidia releases the 4090ti. Because of Steam Deck, I want a pc so badly. I am still going to keep all my console collections. PC is the future.
I’ve been a console gamer my whole life and I’m FINALLY serious about building a pc I already have all the parts chosen but I need some advice, what are the best brand and type of monitors if you’re starting out?

Consoles all the way baby It's nostalgic for me since the middle 2000s and early 2010s Much easier to watch RUclips on it. And do movie apps and play video games on it even if it's not 4k or 1080p The only good thing on computer for me was roblox But everything else consoles all the way
Basically best choice is to do both, build yourself the best PC you can then choose between a Switch or PS5, whichever you prefer. For me it's the PS5, for my wife it's the Switch but we both have PCS.
I used to feel the same, but I thought it was worse to buy a new console every generation and still need to keep the previous one around to play old games. With PC there's no big technological leap so you can wait longer between upgrades and not worry about losing your library.
switched to ps5 from xbox this console generation and i’m glad i did, bloodborne and demons souls were the main reasons but tons of other pros. my xbox is just collecting dust cause i can’t justify paying to use my internet on 2 consoles, so im thinking about selling it soon. i really want to get a pc soon but they’re just so expensive, plus i already have a new macbook so idk if i can really justify it. thoughts?
@UrCasualGamer I kinda just want it for next Gen games I can't play on pc like 2k, correct me if I'm wrong but the series s is the cheapest next Gen console right?
@user-zy7oi8xm6e Yes, but those next gen games don't look that great on it. For example, 2k24 looks to pixelated at times. And some games will be blurry and have a ton of pop ins. But at the end of the day it still plays the games for $250
i'm playing games for 30+ years, and there is no console that can match pc...playing all pc games and 30 consoles games on my 5 year old laptop without problems and works wonderfully
I'm a console player for the console exclusives (Armored Core for Answer, Ace Combat PS2). I don't like imperfect emulation so I stick with the real things. PC gaming is a pain in the butt if your PC is having problems. I've seen like a dozen glitches on Windows 10. I only do PC gaming for PC exclusives and games that need a lot of mod support (Skyrim, MechWarrior 5). PC gaming needs its own help for older games such as people saying you need to download Nvidia legacy drivers to play Velvet Assassin (2009) and get some other stuff to run MechWarrior 3. There are many more problems with PC gaming that no one can help anyone with.
Only things I hate about pc gaming is how sometimes your PC can get fucked up and your games become unplayable, and sometimes the games would crash or won't even work at all, and the controls hurt my hands
the thing is with pc everything is more accessible, got a better pc than others? crank the game to max settings and enjoy the view, customize anything, left handed? no problem, set your keybinds, prefer a controller over keyboard/mouse? we got you covered, steam has support for that, want to mod your game? pc is the best place to do it, you can also upgrade your pc as the parts get older, each part has its own warranty if you build it yourself like i did lemme give you an example about minecraft: minecraft mods are pretty cool things right? and most people like java, if you played on console you couldnt play java so forget about big servers like hypixel. you can do everything much more free if you are on pc, i mean you could get a console as well but once the next gen games come out, say bye and on console 30 fps on 4k is considered normal, i look at 60 fps and im like ewwww wth is that, so even if you are a casual guy go with pc gaming because you can do so much on pc that you cant do on console
RUclips gave me two strikes out of nowhere. One more, and my channel gets deleted, so I removed all of them to avoid that. They will be uploaded to my backup channel called Simple. A video will be made about this once I'm out of youtube jail.

last time I looked at the price of a PS5 it was 800 Dollars, that's insane especially because it is going to be obsolete in a few years, my PC will still be working just fine long after the PS5 has been replaced, that's why PC is better It outlives Consoles, out performs them, and most of all it's cheaper.
Thank you for the entertaining/informational content you put out :)
Thank you for the support
PC: You get the best entertainment money can buy
Console: It's cheap.
That's the difference.
Pc might be better but console is so much easier.

Thank you Again UrCasualGamer I am currently looking into both.
No problem, and honestly, PC and Nintendo are the way to go these days
I own a gaming PC with a RTX 4090 and thought about selling my Xbox Series X. However, I do play original xbox and xbox 360 games on the Xbox Series X so I keep it around to get all the options. Plus Fable 4, I'm not sure if that will come to PC either.
Friends, friends, family, friends! The KICK of being in tbe same room and able to high-five or shoulder-bump pals when being victorious or shared defeat cannot be underestimated! Consoles will always win on that score.
True 👍
No they actually loose.
Look up Nucleus Coop.
There are hundreds of games that you can mod into split screen or connect multiple Monitors to your PC.
I can play Elden Ring with 2 friends on 3 Tvs next to each other in seamless co-op.
What console can do the same?
I used to prefer PC gaming over console gaming but the cost to keep up with the latest games is just too much. Why wouldn’t I just buy a $500 console where I don’t have to stress about if the game can run on my system or not. PC is only better if you have tons of money to invest in your gaming pc, otherwise console is the better option.
Wdym too much cost
Have fun paying $60 a year for online.
@@truereaper4572 800 buck PC plays everything ultra settings too
@@traestephen7276 yeah, hell you could build a $600 pc that beats consoles.
@@truereaper4572 I don't play online anyways , since online games are a scam in itself with all the microtransactions bs. I just like simplicity and not having to worry if my PC meets the requirements of the latest games or the games that I want to play.
Personally, i prefer PC over console, but console also has offered a good experience for me, specifically Xbox One and Nintendo Wii.
TELL ME YOU HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A STEAMDECK WITHOUT TELLING ME YOU HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A STEAM DECK LOL SMH
I love both 💻 and Console gaming as well 😀😀😊😊
Me too both are good
This is simple. If you have the money and are someone who plays games more than 8 hours a day and are a tech nerd there is no reason not to be a PC gamer. If not, then console is the way to go.
I switched to pc gaming this passed Christmas. I love what you can do on pc compared what you can do on a console. Console is so limited
How come you never made a PlayStation 1 emulation guide video? I think it's time to make it happen. Whenever you want of course.

Lol xbox is dying... ps5 is better for the gaming library. What's the point of buying an xbox when the library is trash. Ps has games that are award winning and best game of the year awards. Its the clear winner. No debate

what gaming laptop should i buy from costco my budget is 1500usd. is any laptop with ryzen 9 32 gb ram great?
Getting my Pc I didn't really think I would be doing Emulation more than anything else. But that seems to be the case. Have a huge collection of ps2 roms, as well as others. and Its just amazing. So many good games to play and complete, or just to enjoy over and over again (I'm lookin at you Burnout 3) with no clear goal other than just play it.
On top of being able to upscale resolution, you can compete with more HD remasters. not ones like spyro and crash, but more like the jak and sly games in terms of remasters.
As you said personal preference plays into this no pun intended. Still think I'm going for that OLED switch!
Personal preference is certainly a factor, but PC just has far, far more benefits than a console on an objective level.
I do love my switch, but like I said, that's because of those exclusives.
@theincrediblefella7984 Comparing apples to oranges on a extreme level.
GARBAGE LOOKING GAMES AT 5000 FRAMES PER SECOND ARE STILL GOING TO LOOK LIKE GARBAGE LOOKING GAMES.
I've been mainly pc gaming for the last 3yrs. But now that PS has come out with Psvr2. I think I'm going back!
in all i think for a high end pc costs around 600 to 1500 as parts are much cheaper and what u need

PC advantages :
- Mods & fixes, save datas
- Emulators (you can play many console exclusives on PC through emulators)
- More tool options ( for ex choose between gamepad and keyboard + mouse which I prefer for shooting games)
- More variety of games
- More storage and advanced options. Also You can always upgrade your system for the better
I may just be dumb lol, but can you elaborate on the save datas? What exactly does that mean?
@@tmanx2724 You can use other people's save data even for emulators. You won't have to start from scratch.
The ps5 has m.2, you could put an 8TB m.2 in there, so what do you mean by more storage?
I recommend the Sabrent 8TB Rocket 4 Plus
@@Gamer-vs3xl M.2s only go up to as far as 2TB commonly, iirc
And PCs use not just M.2; SSDs and HDDs work too + I'm unsure if consoles today can take advantage of as many of each of the three at once
Emulators aren't even a advantage at this point. I have a 360 emu, PS2, PS1, GameCube, Wii, NES, SNES, and Dreamcast emu on my Series S. Storage isn't either, since I have 2 terabytes.

Don't get the 40 series. It's a complete waste of money. Look at the 30 series if you *must* have something newer, but 1080tis are still great.

Ace Combat works fine on emulators now a days at least AC:04 and AC5
Only things I hate about pc gaming is how sometimes your PC can get fucked up and your games become unplayable, and sometimes the games would crash or won't even work at all, and the controls hurt my hands
You can use any controller you want on PC
the thing is with pc everything is more accessible, got a better pc than others? crank the game to max settings and enjoy the view, customize anything, left handed? no problem, set your keybinds, prefer a controller over keyboard/mouse? we got you covered, steam has support for that, want to mod your game? pc is the best place to do it, you can also upgrade your pc as the parts get older, each part has its own warranty if you build it yourself like i did
lemme give you an example about minecraft:
minecraft mods are pretty cool things right? and most people like java, if you played on console you couldnt play java so forget about big servers like hypixel.
you can do everything much more free if you are on pc, i mean you could get a console as well but once the next gen games come out, say bye and on console 30 fps on 4k is considered normal, i look at 60 fps and im like ewwww wth is that, so even if you are a casual guy go with pc gaming because you can do so much on pc that you cant do on console
I prefer PC, mouse and Keyboard is perfect for me. and I use my PC for creating Music and ART.
You can use controller on PC too
