We truly are in the golden age of gaming. Between PCs, consoles, handheld devices, and smartphones, there are more ways than ever to play.
if you want the latest and greatest triple AAA titles, you really only have two options: consoles or PC. We're fans of consoles around here of course, games like Breath of the Wild, Spider-Man, God of War, and Red Dead Redemption are some of our favorite games, but it should come as no surprise we're pretty big into PCs too. We are Newegg.
When you want the best-all around gaming experiences, we're convinced PC is where it's at.
In this video, we'll go over some of the best reasons to game on PC. And if you're already a PC convert, this video might be just what you need to convince your friends and family to make the switch.
Let's get started with one of the most clear advantages - keyboard and mouse control.
Using a keyboard for gaming can be a challenge at first, especially when compared to a controller…all those buttons!
Once you get used to it though, it becomes clear just how much better it can be, especially for certain genres. For games that require lots of actions per minute like MOBAs, Real Time Strategy games, or MMOs, having access to all those mappable keys at once isn't just more convenient, it's critical to success.
Even more useful for gaming is the mouse. Dual sticks on a controller are fine for most games, but they don't hold a candle to the accuracy or quick movement of a mouse. There's a reason all competitive first person shooters are best played with a keyboard and mouse: because it's the most precise way to play. Especially when it comes to FPSs, a mouse and keyboard combo is unbeatable.
But not everyone cares about precision or high level play, we get that. Some people prefer a controller, because it's what they're used to, and what they grew up using. Sometimes, you just want to plop down on the couch, pick up a controller, and play a few rounds of Overwatch on Xbox without worrying about KD ratios or Grandmaster status.
Totally fair, but here's the thing- you can use a controller on a PC too. Almost any modern controller can be used with a PC, and almost every new game will automatically switch to controller input as soon as it's plugged in. No customization or tweaking necessary.
That was a lot, and we could keep going. The point is, pretty much anything a console can do, a PC can do better, and then some. Once you experience your favorite game in 4K at sixty frames per second, on a high refresh rate display with a gaming mouse and keyboard, there's really no going back.

I was playing on console for 7 years but when i started playing R6 i saw how it really sucks and pc is a lot better.
I r6 literally made think to switch into pc
I was skeptical about it and even asked my roommate if i could play one game on his pc or laptop to see if id like it and playing gta 5 alone on higher fps and smoother gameplay and access to better stuff to enjoy. It did kinda ruin it for me but at the same time it made me want a pc of my own after seeing just how far behind console is to pc even though we all started with console, pc rapidly evolved to something far beyond consoles

It took my gaming squad aka my best friends 2-3 years to finally get into PC gaming, after getting all the parts and after they explained how to build a PC and how easy it is to upgrade when needed. I feel great about joining the master race of gaming. Plus I can work from home one moment then have fun the next 🙌🏾

Not to mention that PC's are technically easier to get your hands on compared to PS5 and Xbox Series. Granted my PC is just a gaming laptop (Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 with 1 TB storage, RTX 3080, and 32 GB of RAM), but a PC non the less that can run 9th gen games

Switched to PC bc I kept coming home from work tired and strained. Getting a Switch or hooking up my old GameCube didn't seem feasible. Already having a Steam account, I bought Rocket League (this was before Epic Games bought it). Loved it. Being a PC gamer since 2019, I slowly saw how Nintendo didn't have the best prices or business practices. Another thing I like about PC is emulation.
First mistake was having a switch over a ps5 or Xbox

@@gustavoroque8830 Build it. There's plenty of youtube channels and tutorials on how to build one from scratch. It's really not that hard, just follow instructions. If you have a micro center nearby, you can get parts there and build a monster PC for like 1000$
@@gustavoroque8830 Don't buy it from walmart if you're going to buy a prebuilt. Go to nzxt bld. You chose your parts and they build it for you. It would be cheaper to go with building it yourself but to beginners building a pc can be scary and overwhelming. If you do plan on building it yourself there are useful guides on the channels of Austin Evans, Bitwit, Paul's Hardware, Linus Tech Tips, Tech Source etc. Whatever you chose to do you won't regret the switch.
I just got a PC because I want to be able to use mods for my beloved Dragon Age titles, especially the upcoming 4th game. I'm so excited!

@Joel really happy for you man! Getting a new pc build is always amazing. So far I really enjoyed my build (with the little time I had to play it with uni and all) I've upgraded things here and there. I have 32gb ram now. Better headset and keyboard/mouse. But apart from that still going strong.

Anyway, I was a PC gamer as a kid, playing stuff like Commander Keen and the original StarCraft and Warcraft. Got caught up in the console world thanks to Nintendo and all my friends talking about Zelda OoT and GoldenEye 007. Kinda just hung out on console ever since then.
What brought me back to PC was a frustration with how The Witcher 3 performed on my PS4 and a desire to build my own rig. I had bought components in 2012, but hadn't gotten around to building it until 2014 thanks to all those Witcher PC/console comparison videos.
I'm so glad I switched to PC. Damn glad. I love my consoles but whew this is a whole new level. Great video btw

As I’ve gotten older I’ve actually started to transition more over to consoles. Price,ease of use and exclusive games in combination with better and better visuals. Especially now in this 4K HDR phase we’re in... But PC gaming is absolutely what you should try if you want the best of the best. Especially if your a competitive player.

REFRESH RATE THAT REFRESH RATE NEEDS TO BE GOOD ON THAT SCREEN

Its much more complicated than this but heres a very very simplified explenation. Its the ammount of FPS the screen is SHOWING you. Like say your game is running at 100 fps but your screen’s refresh rate is 60 since the refresh rate is 60 it only SHOWS you 60 fps. The game is running at 100fps it just doesnt look like it because of that goddamn screen
@@vlogsbyjayy1296 try to go to Best Buy and find a monitor with 144hz refresh rate. Move the mouse around and scroll really quickly, maybe demo a game, and then go look at one of those cheap HP laptops and do the same thing. You have to experience the difference. Higher refresh rate is just so much smoother

The Xbox One reveal in 2013 convinced me to build a PC.
I got my gaming desktop on Newegg and I never regretted it. I have been a PC user ever since the days of Windows 95 and life just is so much easier with my computer. I don't just game a lot on it, I use it for NUMEROUS tasks. Movies. Books. TV. Information. Networking. Reading the news. Calculate important stuff. Set up schedules and appointments. Modify texts or mathematical graphs. Heck, a computer can do just a ton of stuff. My life can't go on without a PC.

PC only !!!! Made the switch 2 months ago there's no going back. I had a garbage keyboard and mouse setup before making the switch difficult, but I have my lunar white Xbox one controller so games felt just like home until I learned first person on a key board lol ! great video I think people should be more open to PC gaming it changed my life and saves me hundreds and hundred of dollars on games dlc and well no xbox live or playstation network needed i have xbox live bata for pc just for a buck I have my hard drive full off my favorite AAA games. A pc may seem exspensive at first but when you build your own its so much beneficial, so rewarding, and so much cheaper all around. Thank you !

I get better graphics and colors on xbox one x, 4k and hdr over the pc I use at 1440p on a tn monitor. Pc gaming is faster paced and smoother but games on the xbox run fine. Pc is a lot buggier though especially older games.

@@bobasquid3339 I played YS Felghana and origin with keyboard, sans mouse though. I map movement to arrow key and combat to ZXCV, it worked well enough.

I've done a lot of PC gaming throughout my life and my all time favorite games (besides Halo) has been on PC. Sadly my laptop isn't powerful enough to run the games I want to play like Apex, Hyper Scape, etc so I hope I will earn enough money to afford a new gaming PC soon! I want it so bad

I been gaming since 1993 with SNES as my first console, to Sega Genesis and more. I didn't discover PC gaming until much later when I first saw the trailer for Crysis and when it launch in 2007, I build my first PC in that year to play Crysis and from that point, I been gaming on PC since. I know only buy consoles just to play exclusive games only and my PC for just about everything else.
After getting really good at pc I’m never going back to console again. They advantages you have are so much better and you can really unlock your full potential while gaming on pc.
I am a console player but decided to give pc gaming a go, not gonna lie I'm switching towards it. It just feels better.
Same, i never realized how far behind console is to pc even though we've had consoles longer. it ruined gta alone for me but not in a bad way more so after playing and seeing what we can do on there with pc and tried playing it on console again and quickly got bored but have no problem playing on pc. I love consoles just as much as the next person but im becoming more biased to pc. Earlier access, typically more dlc and more ways to make even an older more stale game much more enjoyable
People say it costs so much money to get a good pc, but are we not gonna talk about the amount of money people spend on xbox live? just to play games?

Everybody believes that a gaming PC is superior to any other gaming platforms, and those who oppose it are simply in denial. PC is so good that console companies would tend to demand early releases of games on their platform over PC so they can provide a reason for gamers to go play on the consoles. It's a strategy to lure over gamers who can't wait to play their favorite titles. The only non-dirty reason why someone should go for the console is if he's not that techy savy, because yes, PCs aren't user friendly.. Tweaks there, tweaks here.. Search for solutions here and there..
Tweaks are one of the best reason to get into PC gaming as it encourages one to explore & learn :)

Yes, it can be exciting to try different setting combinations and try to explore ways on how to make things a lot more smoother and efficient, but not all would prefer this. Some people want power on, boot, and then play.

But seriously, anyone who's like "but more performant hardware is also more expensive", just consider how long you'll be using your PC or console for. Maybe four years? Yeah that's an additional 240 bucks on top of the base price. Why not buy some nice hardware for that instead.
Also, emulation. I didn't need to spend even more money on a superfluous Switch just to enjoy Mario Odyssey :)

real life and games i built mine a few weeks ago and my friends who play console asked why. I say that i was either going to get the xbox series x or build my pc. not only is pc better for the reasons in the video, but the experience building it was great

Gsync and Freesync are "gamechanger" for me.
I mostly use a controller on PC because arthritis. The tendons on the back of my hands ache after ~1/2 hour. Haven't played on a console in years. People that say PC gaming is too expensive must not own all the console upgrades. The new ones are about to roll out. Get out your wallets console gamers.
I use mostly controller as well on my pc. At one of my jobs in my 20's I broke a bone in my left hand (I hit my ring finger knuckle hard on something and it pushed in breaking the bone in my hand). Like you after 30 minutes my hand would ache plus the ring and pinky fingers for me would shake and twitch a lot when I was pushing the keys.
I like the xbox one x because of the 4K and hdr, also playing in front of a tv and using a controller.

If you want someone to move from console to PC all you have to do is tell them how PC can be affordable and plug into a TV. Usually, the good TV and the computer are in 2 separate rooms forcing them to go through a wall, have a very long cord, or move the PC every time they want to game. Could also buy a TV specifically to game but that adds to the already high cost.
Also, come on, the MEK1 is $1600 that isn't comparable to a $400 console (or $200 like the PS4 on black Friday). One with a 1050 is over $1000
Pc gaming is also future proof. I still using my old gaming pc from 2010 I just upgrade it to ssd, ram, and cpu. I can still able to play the latest triple a games. Unlike the peasant consoles tend to buy new one every 3 to 4 years.

@Bryce Goodenough Next time you decide to get a pc build it yourself or have microcenter or bestbuy build it. Sometimes prebuilts cut corners and give you useless stuff like hard disk drives instead of SSD or NVME SSD

So for all of you that are going to say pc is twice the price, Listen when you are going to buy something as a pc for gaming, you have to know that once you bought it its done. You will get cheaper games, no online subscription and you will never have to upgrade the pc cause a new one is out and no longer have new games cause pc is only one and consoles just launch the 8 gen. Get yourself a good pc and use it until you want a new one or dies (if you take good cara of it it can last forever).

diablo is what convinced me to switch! i used to watch my uncle play on the pc all the time as a kid, but never got around to it. In process of building my first pc now!
Speaking of diablo, a friend of mine told me diablo 3 is out on console, but they dumbed down the controls a lot. Diablo 3 is definitely the kind of game i would only play on mouse and keyboard.
What drugs you guys on PC is the worst place to play for the best overall experience there is no balance and fairness all hacks and cheats so easy 100% access to all files. If you want great quality with balance and fairness with no cheaters you play on Console PS4 specifically.

I have a question.....should I buy a nintedo switch or a pc?
Nintendo switches are great for family friendly games and couch co-op on about a 30fps screen with it in portable mode
However PC’s if you can afford one are great for gaming and can go anywhere from 60fps- 800+ (Depending on what you pay) with a large roster of all types of games ranging from whatever category you want.
You can also play pc games portably if you get a gaming laptop.
If you want to enter the pc world steadily I would get one around 800-1000$ because this will give you around 200 FPS on some games.
If you want a pc that can run literally any game get one that costs 1000-1700$ this will probably run at about 600 FPS on some games
If you want a pc MAKE SURE to check the specs as this is crucial ,spend about 1 week researching the best pc for your budget.
If you want a Nintendo switch you can get one for around 250 at some retailers and they are great family devices that are usually for people that don’t mind about a hardcore gaming experience and just want the Nintendo exclusives.
Also you can get some gaming laptops for about 500-600 these will do you about 40-60 FPS in casual games like minecraft you won’t be able to run games like gta or call of duty on this type of laptop though.

8:14 It didn't take any trying to convince me into playing on PC primarily. It just happened. Half-Life 👍. Once you go mouse and keyboard and see how intuitive it is with fps games, that's it. There's simply no going back. It's like going back to GameBoy from N64 back in the day.
I dunno, for me a Switch with a Controller is much more intuative especially for platforming and fighting game.

I used to always play console games until I played 7 Days to Die on the PC and ever since then everything I have played has been bigger, badder, and better.
I’ve played console computer and now pc is coming my way
I have my gaming rig in the living room corner. If I decide I want to play a casual game on the couch I plug the HDMI into my GPU. It runs along the baseboard and already hooked to TV. Then I grab my Xbox One wireless controller and go to the couch. Bit awkward the first few minute the TV is not curved and it is 60 Hz.
With a PC you can do almost anything. Use it for gaming, for vlogging, for editing, for working, for studying and many more. So yeah, PC Rocks.
But pretty much all of those you can do on a phone, and most people have a phone

@@luukherfst1209 bigger screen doesn’t matter to me, all I need to do is watch RUclips, Netflix, sometimes Disney plus for marvel content, and message people. All those I can do on my ps5 with the exception of messaging. Yes you can message on console but it’s not something everyone uses and a phone is more ideal for that field. And I use my phone for studying and occasional editing when I’m bored.
