- In this video I will show you how to make the TACO BELL ENCHIRITO! This is my all-time FAVORITE fast food item and I wanted to create my version of it which is basically an exact copycat of the original Enchirito with a couple small exceptions that I mention in the video. I will show you how to make the Taco Bell SECRET Red Sauce! This video is dedicated to my Father and my friend Donna. Thanks to Ron @4seasonsbbq for the inspiration! Is the Enchirito coming back for good? I HOPE SO!

MY RECIPE DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
PLEASE CHECK PINNED COMMENT FOR ERROR CORRECTIONS OR THINGS I FORGOT!
Ingredients Needed:
- Ground Beef (80/20) I used a one pound pack to match the seasoning package.
- Taco Bell Seasoning amzn.to/3jFoTUJ
- LOTS of Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I used Sharp Cheddar)
- Taco Bell Refried Beans amzn.to/3DUSmkr
- Chopped Onion
- Flour Tortilla
- Taco Bell Fire Sauce www.amazon.com/dp/B00U9VP66I/...
- Red Sauce (see recipe below)
RED SAUCE RECIPE: Combine 16 Oz. of plain tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 3 teaspoons cumin, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon garlic salt, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper into a pot, stir well and simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring frequently on low-medium heat.
INSTRUCTIONS: ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE PREPARING ANY FOOD RECIPE!
TO BUILD THE ENCHIRITO start by pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small baking dish properly sized and shaped to accommodate the Enchirito, spread some red sauce at the bottom. Place the flour tortilla inside the dish opened up. Add beans, meat, onions, (also add cheese and some red sauce if you'd like to do it my way, if not, just beans, meat, cheese), then fold to close and flip over upside down. Cover with red sauce and lots of cheese! Place into oven at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove and ENJOY!

I went down to Taco Bell 3 different times when they brought the Enchirito back a few months ago. Unfortunately it was only back for a few weeks. The enchirito has been my favorite Taco Bell item since I first ate there back in the early 1970's. I actually saved a couple of those plastic containers they put them in, incase I decide to do a similar video someday LOL. Great job Mike, it sure looked a lot like the real deal.
Thank you, Rus! I wish you could’ve tasted this! You’d of loved it!
@@EverydayBBQ I wish I could have tasted it too Mike!
Your passion for Taco Bell always makes me chuckle. In fact, it's good to know if anything ever happens to T, you could make a happy life together with a Taco Bell Restaurant. lol
RIP dad! Your legacy lives on in Mike.
Love you, brother! Thank you 🙏
Thank you Mike for this! I used to get these in little tin trays back in the day. Too bad you can not get these at Taco Bell anymore. This is a GREAT replacement. Going to try it and let you know.
Your videos are still not showing up on my feed? Stopped by and you got a new video, looks great! Might have to give it a try. Thanks for the recipe!
All I can say is make sure you’re subscribed to the channel and have notifications set to all. I hear this from a lot of people. The algorithm on RUclips is biased and it shadow bans a lot of us.
Enchirito is my favorite item. Once when I was about 5 or 6 I asked for enchiritos on my Christmas list. 😂
Lol! Nice! 😂
My faVorite Taco Bell item of all-time was the taco light. 🎉
Like I had told you, my wife loved the Enchirito. I've actually never had one, but I'll be giving this recipe a try for sure! Thanks, Mike!
Thank you, Brother! I appreciate you checking it out 🙏. I’ve been telling my wife I want to make another since I did this video lol. I think I’ll make a tray of them this weekend.
Fantastic Mike! Thanks a million for the shout-out. I think I have been with you from the beginning. It's amazing how fast your channel has grown. That looked absolutely EPIC! All that cheese was🔥🔥. I also like how you made your own sauce. I'm with you. The enchurito is my favorite fast food item, hands down. I could eat those every day. I'm glad I started making my own. Once again, thanks for the shout-out. Have a great weekend, brother. 👍
Thanks again for the inspiration, Ron.
That looked pretty darn close to the real thing Mike, nice. My favorite Taco Bell item was a thing called the Taco Light that used to have a taco shell that tasted like the bowl from a taco salad. They discontinued it in the 90's but was my favorite thing they had. The Mexican Pizza was the next thing I liked but it was better years ago but that could be my taste buds changing as well. Nice video, thanks!
I loved that Taco Light supreme So good ❤
Right on and thank you very much!
I made this, it was wonderful. We loved that sauce! Thank you for posting 😊 sending a Thanks along.
Thank you for sharing!
Miss the Taco Light! Crispy flour shell - ummm. Miss the Enchirito as well.
Ditto!
I've never had this, but it looks delicious! I gotta make that red sauce for my son. He always wants extra in his taco bell burritos👍😊
The flavor is really really close! He’ll love it!
When I was a kid no matter what I got a Taco Bell I would also order a Mexican Pizza and we would all eat off it as a family.
That’s another favorite of mine! It’s back on the menu permanently now, but my god they charge a lot for it lol.
I remember those as a kid. I'm with you as well, no onions when I was younger but I will take as many as I can get today.
Lol same here 💯
Looked amazing Mike! Never had one of those but definitely going to get one now 😆. I love the taco supremes most of the time but anything the Bell has will do!. Great job once again and Cheers 🍻 till the next episode.
Thank you and cheers, my friend! 🍻!
looks pretty legit I will try it to see how close you got to the real thing thanks for posting
Looks awesome Mike!
Thank you, Tammy!
HEB Mixla Torillas. They are a mix of flour and corn. Corn flavor and flour strength so they dont fall apart.
Enchrito! Limited time they have them now!
That looks amazing!!! Great job!
Thank you 🙏. I hear it’s coming back on May 25th!
That would be awesome! I know we had it return out here in Central California a while back, but it only lasted like I wanna say a couple months lol!
@@hagfan78 same here, but now it’s supposed to be back except only on the digital menu. I’ll take it any way I can get it!
I do not know if anybody remembers the The Bell Beefer! It was the Taco meat with Lettuce on a Hamburger Bun...They were awesome.
Looks great
It was!
The original Enchirito used a tortilla that was a mix of masa harina (corn) and wheat flours. If wanted replicate the original exactly, this would actually be the most difficult component to replicate.
Yes! I have been saying for years that the original Enchirito was made with a yellow tortilla. Finally someone (besides my wife) has corroborated my ancient memories.
HEB Mixla tortillas. Epic.
Bob Fungula sent me here!
Haha 😂
Thank you Mike for pulling this wole concept togeter in one greast video! - Cheers!
Thank you for watching, Garry!
Love taco bell enchiritos!!
Enchirito was my very favorite then Taco Bell grande. Now the seasoned fries they keep bringing back and forth.

Thank you 🙏. The Enchirito is coming back on the digital only menu on may 25 th I hear!
WOW That looks amazing..
Thank you, Tammy!
@@EverydayBBQ Your welcome..
Great job Mike! I never had an Enchirito but I will have to give this a try someday! My favorite fast food back in the day was a slice of sausage and mushroom pizza from Rocky Rococo's! hahaha
Haha yea dude I used to love RR’s! Don’t know if they exist anymore but I remember them when I was a kid. I appreciate you supporting me, brother!
Looks great. Nice touch with the fire sauce. My favorite Taco Bell item is Mexican Pizza! So glad they brought it back to T Bell.
That’s a favorite of mine too! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Mike, I don't think I ever had one of those from Taco Bell, but yours looks fantastic!!! Great job on this video
Thank you, Mark! I appreciate your support very much!
Mike that looked really good , they sell the fire sauce in bottles know at Walmart. My favorite fast food item taco bell had and is gone was there taco salad
I remember my mom and dad loved the taco salad too. Thank you for watching, John!
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
The Enchirito has always been my most favorite Taco Bell menu item.
The Bell Beefer, kind of a sloppy joe was my favorite.
I remember that! It was awesome.
I miss their baja tacos
Great video. I miss the original taco sauce that was in the peel top cups from the late 70’s early 80’s. It was fantastic on eggs lol.
Thank you for watching!
I worked at Taco Bell in the late 80s/early 90s when they made the red sauce from packets of powder. The first ingredient listed was Paprika, which generally means it is the most plentiful ingredient. Maybe it has changed since then but just an FYI...
Absolutely Fantastic ✅ Thank You So Much. I’ve been going to Taco Bell since 1968. I Still love it My Favorite is Taco Supreme but I also make all my Taco Bell Tacos at home from Scratch w/ Taco Bell Sauce of Course. My favorite all time Fast Food is In n Out 3x3 Well Done Fries & Tommy’s Double Chili Cheese Burgers 🍔. ❤. I also make Copy Kat From those at home also. Cheers Mike. Have a Great SuperBowl Sunday I’m making tons of stuff Maybe a you tube video also. 🎉Take Care
Thank you for watching, Mick!
great video mike, my favorite taco bell item is the steak quesadilla :)
Thank you, Nick!
I'm different I always loved Onions especially in my mom's Potato Salad 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋. But that enchilada looks delicious. I would keep the olive out being I don't like olives.
I didn’t used to like them either lol. Thank you for watching, Brian!
OMG I am soo making this tomorrow! Mine will be a lil different because I just made a bunch of Mexican adobo sauce to preserve so I am going to use that but this looks amazing 🤤🤤! My fav was the pinto and cheese, Mexican pizza (which I’ve made) and the enchirito. Wow thanks for the idea. New subbie. ✌🏾
Welcome to the Channel and thank you very much for watching!
Love it Mike! I really love a Culver"s Double Smash burger but 2nd place is Probably the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza. Hey...I'd love to see you whip up one of those! Cheers Buddy!
Thank you for the support and the suggestion, Shawn!
Yumm
Thank you 🙏
Yummy
Great video Mike! That looks delicious! If you like the fire sauce, try this one. It tastes very similar. Cheers!
Ingredients:
• 6oz Can Tomato Paste
• 3 Cups Water
• 3 Tbsp White Vinegar
• 1/2 Cup Jalapeno Slices
• 1 Tbsp Chili Powder
• 1 Tbsp Dehydrated Minced Onions
• 2 Tsp Salt
• 2 Tsp Cornstarch
• 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
• 1 Tsp Sugar
• Dash of Onion & Garlic Powder
Directions:
1. Add all the listed ingredients into a blender or a large food processor.
2. If you have a Vitamix, let it blend on high until steam is present.
3. This mixture will cook down without the use of a stove top.
4. After everything is blended, bring this mixture to a boil in a sauce pan and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Thank you, Jason. Glad to see you. I’ll try this out cause I love fire sauce!
Looks really good. My favorite fast food item can vary, but I do like anything Asian, like Japanese, and Mediterranean, such as Greek, or Italian. I do like onions and olives, very much. Cheers, Mike! 👍👍✌️
Thank you for watching and commenting, Dwayne!
I was hesitant about your red sauce having a tomato base. My sister and I watched your video and gave it a try. We were hoping to have a nostalgic visit to the 1970's Taco Bell Enchirito we remembered as teenagers . We were very disappointed. It was more like something Olive Garden would make. We asked some of our Mexican friends and relatives about it. They told us enchilada sauce doesn't have a tomato base. It has a water base or chicken broth base. You might want to get some tips from your Mexican friends or associates. I mean this to be helpful to you and your viewers. 😊
You obviously didn’t make it correctly and I think your Mexican friends are fake people posing as real Mexicans. This recipe is the real deal, just read the vast majority of the comments. Cheers 🍻
Just found your channel and I'm going to try this. I see you use packets of TB fire hot sauce, haven't you found a good copycat fire hot sauce recipe yet?
Have not looked lol
TB tostada, followed by the enchirito for me.
Enchirito!
Defiantly the Chili Cheese Burrito.
Childhood classic! Damn I miss those things
That’s another favorite of mine! They still have that in some areas, just not mine 😞.
Me too!
Enchirotp!
"Screw it…I’m putting the whole thing in there." Lol..🤣 No such thing as too much cheese! I’ve never had this from Taco Bell, but your version sure looks delicious! I used to like Taco Bell Nachos Belle Grande, back in the day. Idk if they still have this…haven’t been to TB in years.
Lol I agree 💯 there is NEVER too much cheese lol. I think the Nachos Bell Grande is still on the menu on some areas. I used to love that too!
bell burger mine faverite
Funny I just ate a chili cheese burrito, also I love the Mexican pizza’s. I didn’t get one today because last time it tasted like melted plastic???
That’s weird. I never had that issue. Thank you for watching, Melissa!
For me, it is hands down the enchirito. I’ve asked how do we get it back. I was told that people have to ask for it back on the web site. Can you mention that on your channel? Thanks
My fav item was the Mexican Pizza.
Enchirito and the Beel Beerer
he said ~genuine~ taco bell refried beans
Indeed genuine
I loved the chili cheese burrito and the enchirito. Thanks to Taco Bell for removing them I don’t eat there anymore.
Favorite fast food item I’m not sure lol favorite Taco Bell item is either the Cheesy Gordita Crunch or the Crunchwrap Supreme!
So this is supposed to be a merging of an enchilada and a burrito, however when I bought one the other day, I was sad to see that they literally used a basic soft taco on its side with the red sauce. The red sauce and cheese is great but is it worth $2 extra? I might get a soft taco and add red sauce and extra cheese to compare.
Nam nam Mike ❤
Thank you, Thomas!
Favorite fast food item: Carl's Jr. Double Western BBQ Cheeseburger. Just like you, my favorite Taco Bell item: the Enchirito!
I hope they bring it back!
beef baja chalupa,,,the shut down the sauce so i just make my own chalupa shells as well
Beef Baja is awesome! Taco Bell is our favorite fast food joint of all time. Was just there getting the Enchirito yesterday cause it’s back again for a limited time.
Favorite Taco Bell items are the Bell Burger and Enchirito made with a corn based tortilla.
We never had the burger in our area. I have a few friends who say it was good!
Chili Cheese Burrito at Taco Bell!
Nobody remembers this this. Taco Bell used to make an item called a Taco Bell Grande which was nothing more than a big size crunchy taco supreme with black olives on top. Would like to see this one duplicated.
I remember it. I’ll see if o can get the large shell
Soon close, you were doing well until you used a flour tortilla. The original was a yellow corn tortilla. I remember when it arrived in 1970. They changed it to a flour tortilla years later after having mold problems because the corn tortillas had a much shorter shelf life and they used the flour tortilla for multiple items. Plus the flour tortillas were cheaper. I worked for corporate Taco Bell in the 80's 90's and again in the late 90's for the Southern Bells franchise of Taco Bell where I became an AGM.I learned a lot about the company from the inside out. Good effort though.
I get an A for effort and I loved the results, but you should do it how you like.
Pig sandwich, used to get them at the Pig Stand in San Antonio years ago, and while Pig Stand is still there the recipe has changed and is now not very good.
Taco Bell Enchirito and crunchy taco with no cheese.
Beefy tostadas.
Taco lite
Bell beefer!!!!
Why not make a Mexican Pizza and a Crunch Wrap!
Go ahead!
Bell Beefer. Green Bean Burrito. Tostada.😢
BELL BEEFER NEEDS TO COME BACK...........
Agreed!
Taco bell red sauce has sugar in it..
If you say so
what's up with the gloves? you're making a burrito, not changing oil on your car...
What’s with that busted ass vette? You look like a wannabe Bandit standing next to it.
06:37 ok..now i am reporting the video
Are you the Taco Bell police?
@@EverydayBBQ meant it as a joke. The bite was the arm twister.
I followed you directions to the letter and my results were absolutely horrible. Seriously nasty 🤢 All I could taste was cumin, vinegar and some tomato. I don’t understand what went wrong but my attempts were nothing short of an abomination.
You did something wrong
No real favorite, fast food item I think most fast food is garbage. I would say a deluxe pizza from Domino’s thin crust only probably one of the best national brand pizzas on the market. In my opinion, I make big pans of enchiladas in the similar manner, but instead of rolling them up, I do it like a lasagna. It turns out fantastic top it off with some jalapeños right out of the jar after it cooks and some sour cream.
I'm with you man, "Fast Food" is garbage. I would go hungry before I would eat any Fast Food...
To each is own 👍🏼
Thank you for watching!
