Just some information on the piece- -This piece was commissioned in 2008 (I believe) by West Genesee School District wind ensemble director Andrew Perry, in order to commemorate and honor the passing of his mother. -In 2012, West Genesee would theme their marching band show for that year after Cry of the Last Unicorn, placing first in National Class at the New York State Championships for the 32nd time of a total of 35 championships. -Andrew Perry would direct this piece in a COVID-riddled 2020-21 year, being the featured piece of his last ever show as director before retirement.
I have to say that playing this in my high school orchestra is and always will be the best memory I have created. This was the last song we played as seniors and the last time literally made me cry. I have a special place in my heart for this song. Thank god for Rossano Galante... a genuine god of all composers
played this my junior year and it is genuinely the best piece we played. begging my director to play it one last time before our group of seniors leave
@@elinahagakallevik820 that just about sums up the flute parts in most Galante pieces ahaha. playing this one now in my high school's concert band and I'm a little concerned since there are kids in here that have played their instrument for less than a year.
@@cha_enthusiast oh, wow. We play it in region-band, but we havent met since september. Most of it is not that hard it's just the part in 133 bpm, THATS what i call action
omg wait tagan dalley ?? 😳 this is strange, never encountered anyone i know on youtube lol in my opinion, our school’s cpa recording sounds more _real,_ i don’t know how to describe it
@@havocmangawip It was just high school wind ensemble. I was the third chair alto the time. It turns out that we were supposed to play it again for our last concert this year. It was going to be so fun now that I'm a senior and can play it almost perfectly. XD
