I just want a manual b9 decently equipped, but all the nice one are automatics. 🙁 The double clutch trans is not so realiable and involving as the manual. I don't get it why people get automatic.

You don't need a new one. You can just disconnect the lines for the ATF and leave the holes in the radiator. Technically it doesn't cool as well as the manual radiator, but I haven't noticed a difference.

Wow $950 for a clutch kit! Doing a budget swap to an 99 A4 1.8t but only spent $70 for the clutch since the flywheel was still good from the donor car. ;) Keep in mind on the 1.8t engine the crank is slightly shorter for the pilot bearing to fit (auto vs manual) so either you can get an adapter or custom fit another bearing. Also when getting a 3 pedal assembly some cars had an electric accelerator pedal and others a cable.

The problem is, you guessed it, its tiptronic... The challenge is finding a manual quattro box here is like looking for a 4 leaf clover. Im leaning towards completing my swop and doing the trans swop when i eventually do find a box.

Jake.B5 The original owner ordered it with it. Anybody who's seen it thinks it looks great. I think it looks good, but if I had the chance I would have gotten a Nogaro Blue S4 lol. Seems like everybody likes the Santorin Blue though.
The tiptronic auto died and couldn't find 01e what am I doing wrong everything bolted up fine put new crank sensor in and all I get is crank and fuel no tach and no spark

Yep, I believe so. You can use an automatic ECU but you need to use VCDS to recode it

Been delayed by the weather but now halfway through the swap. Have 3 pedals in, hydraulics, and clutch/flywheel mounted.
Finally finished. Runs great, also figured out how to wire in reverse light to manual transmission to auto transmission harness

It's honestly not bad at all to drive, but it's mainly not as fun and enjoyable than the manual. Good luck man!

I was able to make my own wiring for the pedals, and ran my own wire for the reverse light, therefore I didn't have to get the manual harness.
