He’s so hard to punish because sometimes he adds extra hits to his normal combos so bs
I know bro its so dumb. He normally will stop swinging but sometimes he acts like he has infinite endurance
You have to feel it out. Take that quarter second to realize if he is or is not winding up for a new swing, and attack or dodge. Have you fought the nameless king? Same deal.

Im so sick of 'Boss Guide' just meaning 'me fighting the boss you want help on and simply narrating what you see me do on the screen for the last attempt where I finally won, but somehow I act like I know a secret strategy'

It's quite easy
Run as far as you can across the area. He will chase you by walking slowly. When he is so far that he's been walking for like 10 seconds he will unleash only 1 attack where he throws his axe and picks it up. After rolling u will notice his back is vulnerable for like 3 seconds, perfect for charged attacks

@@naufalmuzakki682 I found an easier way to defeat Godfrey. I have found that his attacks come from your actions. As long as you are away from him and you do nothing he will just walk towards you. He strikes you when you are close to him and the dash towards you when you cast a spell and/or drink a potion at him. And he also has an attack where he jumps and throws his ax at you, and it was with that attack that I beat him. To get him to do that attack you simply run at him and he will use that attack. To dodge it you just have to not stop and keep running straight. After dodging him Godfrey will make a leap to get his ax back, and that's the time to hit him. You must do this while he is completing the action. So he won't react to your actions and he won't snap at you (same thing when it comes to drinking a potion to heal you or recharge your magic). I resorting to this strategy, which I devised by myself and I haven't seen video tutorials about it, I beat him without getting hit even once using the meteorite staff and the rock sling spell. And these things I understood by myself fighting against him. It didn't tell me anyone.

Boss makes me want to quit, sat here for about 8 hours now, tried melee, magic, weapon art spam (moonveil) and HE JUST WONT DIE! Radahn armour,level 67, STILL WONT DIE! I WANT TO CHEESE IT, BUT I CANT! I HATE THIS SO MUCH!

Yeah he is doing 5 or 6 combos countinously. And there is no time to attack.

I beat him on the 2nd try. Just dodge towards him and a little to the right. He has 3 attack combos so just remember roll 3 times and hit twice. Don’t get greedy cause you’ll be running low on stamina cause you’ll be dodging so much. Don’t forget to stand still for a second to let you stamina build back up good luck!

For the people trying to invite, you have to use the furlcalling finger remedy, and then tap y or e and summon someone who is trying to coop, that's how I beat him lol

honestly what i found best is right when you enter the boss area to use a summon to distract him and get some free bloody slashes in. i took down half his health before my summons died

None of this has been my experience. Whether I use an ash or not, whether I dodge or not. How much distance I try to create. He closes it. He kills everything. He gets and keeps me in range, and if I try to heal, he's got a special little move waiting just for me. And if I make it out of range, boy that axe comes out of nowhere, and it's back to square zero. I'm a melee build with medium load, and she won't run fast enough, won't dodge more than the first stomp effect...can't wear much armor and not fat roll, and I'm ready to rip my teeth out.
this boss sucked for me because i devoted my entire character to bleed and hes immune to bleed

Another way to cheese godrick is to get great shield soldier ashes summon + black flame(projectile) + Cerulean hidden tear and have at least 5 fp flasks so he’s agro at your summons and you can spam black flam at him… p.s I beat him today do to this😅

If you have a bow you can cheese him. By using the long corridors keep shooting him. He will do 1 attack but it could change. One is his charge stomp. To get away from in roll towards him on the last second. Number 2 is he will throw his big axe and he will follow up with his jump. Dodge the axe and run as far as possible then go back to taking his health with a bow. Hope this helps.
There’s been an update to how aggressive he is and the time between attacks so this doesn’t work anymore 😢

If you have trouble as a melee fighter try using the magma scalesword with heavy attacks. Literally almost all of his horizontal swings will go above your character.
I wish i never bought this game. I hate to lose, and i cant beat him. Im going to try what u said but this is it for me. I put i over 120 hours and im just tired of beating my head against the wall

@@pennyweise438 i finally beat him, keep distance and bait his slam attack, he sometimes only does the slam but most of the time has one more attack after, if u can dodge those 2 you can get a heavy hit or 2 in, keep doin that, i recommend using the bloodhound fang our redulvia dagger with its bleed.

im lvl 51 dual uchigatana +8 and i cant even scratch him, so long combos i cant get a single opening for attack

@@qwertz7430 you just gotta learn his moves, no other way.. also upgrade your weapon its very easy to find the bell bearings for smithing stones

@@akiideal4622 Nah bro it's pretty damn broken.. Not to mention it can be attained at the very beginning of the game and literally melts bosses health bars with one or two shots, and clears giant mobs of enemies with a single weapon art.. It's basically the easy mode game devs were hoping for.
Im almost certain, this, along with bleed builds, will be nerfed soon. The same thing happened in ds3.
I personally enjoy it for PvE. But i definitely think it will get nerfed soon.

He was pretty easy for me, Goddrick the grafted was much harder imo

I literally last about three seconds with this guy every time. I’ve been fighting him for three days now I’m ready to quit this game
If you're struggling with this I'd advise trying to run in get a hit and then just dodging his combos, because you can't really tell how long they're gonna be, tho if he jumps in the air you almost always have an attack you can punish.
I’m Baffled you said five attempts and you got it down I’m on attempts like 100 and I’m on love with 67 are you about 340 damage per hit And I still can’t kill this guy
what level are you? I recommend rolling inwards and towards his sides for dodging.
@@Obsoleek well I went to the farming spot every one knows about and went back at level 85 and won against him then first tried win against the boss right after him botta bing botta boom I’m level 155 and I’m at the last story boss in the entire game the elden beast already set the erdtree on fire to burn down the Impenetrable branches sealing the door to the heart of the erdtree we’re i fight the god of all creation the elden beast like I said even in sekiro I only legit struggled against one boss the entire game for sekiro it was the guardian ape then I killed it and flew thru the rest of the story in elden ring it was Godfrey spirit Version then killed him and FLEW through the rest of the story light work

I had a hard time finding him too in the avenue balcony spawn point turn around so your facing away from the road and run up the dragon wings up the tree branch jump off and keep running forward

It's part of the rapier moveset, its a light attack! Different weapons have different animations :D
edit: its the stagger / posture / stance mechanic!

7-8 tries it took me. Keep your distance, dodge through him to the right and when he's at the end of his attack jump hit him if you're going strength or try and get as much damage as you can with dex builds

@@casual_loser6733 what level are you? I suggest somewhere over level 125 with fully upgraded weapons where possible. Most of your damage comes from upgrading the weapons, and the rest is from scaling

He does that cause you’re too far. To stop that you gotta fight at his ankles. Roll to the side and roll towards him, don’t roll away.

What weapon do you guys use against malenia ?
Dual uchigatana, blood hounds step on main weapon to get away from her weapon art. Chilling mist or a blood ash of war like seppuku on off hand. That or swap out off hand weapon for rivers of blood. Talismans I use are millicents prosthesis, lord of bloods exultation, rotten wing sword insignia and carian filigreed crest so I can spam both my weapon arts. Thorny cracked tear and stonebarb cracked tear in wonderous flask of physicks, drink it at the start of phase 2. If I'm doing a bit of jolly cooperation I like to swap filigreed crest for shabriris woe to keep aggro on me otherwise host of fingers get shredded from weapon art. Then if successful, swap shabriris woe for golden scarab before you get runes for a little extra. Something like that anyway
I use a helicopter build. Grave scythe with blood flame and spinning weapon ash of war. Drains her health
