- The QT-EZ Series is Mazak's latest USA-built solution for job shops. There are three models in this series, the QT-EZ 8, 10, and 12 (chuck sizes), with various available options based on your needs. The machines can be equipped with milling (M), milling and y-axis (MY), or milling, y-axis, and a second spindle (MSY). The QT-EZ series has the new and powerful Smooth EZ control. This control can program in standard EIA programming or conversational! The flexibility of the Smooth EZ control allows new machinists or experienced ones to navigate the control easily and program parts quickly.
Additionally, the machines have an integral spindle motor versus belt driven and Mazak's high-speed roller gear cam turret. This lathe can also run as a fully automated system by adding a 12-foot bar feeder and parts catcher. If this is the route you are taking, the QT-EZ 8 model can feed up to 2-inch bars, the 10 can feed 2.5-inch bars, and the 12 models can feed up to 3-inch bars.

lol ..typical jobshops are stuck with outdated low end machines from haas .. Mazak is hard to finance for that segment. :)
