Hey Thor, outside of Star Wars stuff, what are you watching and enjoying recently?
I really felt all of your "Oh boy" responses, Thor. I'll give it a chance, but we all know this stuff is going to mess up Star Wars mythology.
It isn’t a joke though. There seems to be inspiration from everywhere except Star Wars. Which given it’s a prequel to the prequels it probably should, but this is a person who hires fellow writers who don’t even know about Star Wars.
Star wars shouldnt be taking inspiration from star wars, eĺse it isnt inspiration, just repetition like the force awakens.
@@Dani-kq6qq The phantom menace is also a new hope remake, but just done well, so they definitely can take inspiration from star wars.
@@ilikepokemans54 Phantom Menace is nothing like new hope. They have nothing in common outside of being the same universe. It is a completely different type of movie. There is literally no rebels or empire type entity, emphasis of clean fanstasy aesthetic rather than diry western aesthetic, cgi instead of practical. No characters go through a hero's journey. The story and themes are different. And frankly Phantom Menace is not done well, it is a very bad movie, comparing it to a new hope is disrespectful.
@@Dani-kq6qq Wow we get it you only like the original trilogy. The prequels are its own thing for sure but they actually do have a lot in common even stated by George Lucas, especially story beats here's just a few I can think off the top of my head but there's more
The movie opens with qui gone and obi wan boarding the enemy ship for trade disputes and get attacked / Vader boards the enemy ship that was supposedly on a diplomatic mission and attacks them.
The master qui gon/ Ben kenobi dying before being able to train the hero Anakin/Luke
Anakin/Luke single handily saving the day by destroying the droid command station/ Death Star
It does a lot of thing differently but it does a lot more in common than you think, A republic vs a separatist uprising, you can not like it but Tatooine is still dirty, CGI was used but there were tons of practical effects in all the prequels, and the story was completely different and tackled different themes like government corruption and the fall of a hero instead of one rising. The prequels had its issues mostly in its execution but most of what you said is factually wrong, and come on it really wasn't that bad and it revolutionized filmmaking

Still watching Star Wars chronologically from Phantom Menace to Ahsoka and I’m currently on rebels, but yeah, clone wars. I really still love a lot of episodes in clone wars and to hear that this show is taking inspiration from them doesn’t sound great to me at least I don’t mind pointing out the Jedi flaws, but I feel like the prequels, the clone wars and the Jedi games do it much better. I feel like this just gonna shit on the Jedi just for the sake of it…

since they started with the _”A Star Wars Story”_ moniker, I’ve wished they’d still conceive projects as trilogies, be it three movies, three seasons of a show, whatevs… in that vein, I wish they’d make a loose “Jedi trilogy…” with part one being the _Dawn of the Jedi_ movie, part two being something set in the High Republic or pre-prequel era (or maybe a quasi Yoda origin?), and the third and final installment could be the supposed “Rey movie,” but focusing on more than just Rey, showing what the future of the Jedi Order will be.
they could do the same with the _”Rogue”_ trilogy… _Rogue One,_ _Rogue Squadron…_ then maybe _”Rogue Leader,”_ with a story culminating with the Battle of Jakku?
A new teaser seems to indicate that Trinity will die in the first episode

holy glob. i'm not trying to be mean but i think George Lucas genocided the night sisters for a reason and part of it probably was so hacks like this don't keep using them everywhere. night sisters were a huge mistake and the fact that we keep seeing this isolated clan of witches pop up EVERYWHERE all over the galaxy is so unbelievable annoying and corny. star wars needs less witches and less D+ shows lol

I'm a big fan of the Novel "Dawn of the Jedi into the void", So I'm definitely going to compare, but maybe this movie is going to go even more back in time, that could be interesting. I'd love the original of the Gree, maybe just one person found out about lightsabers (the main character or bad guy) and everyone else using Vibroblades.
The thing is, her "original concepts" seem to be a direct contradiction to what we understand. The latest trailer says something about the Jedi having a chokehold on the Force... if their position is that because the Jedi were no longer following the will of the Force, it would correlate, however, is this the correct timeframe for the Jedi to be following the will of the Senate? Seems like it's off, but that could just be my mind...
"chokehold on the Force" implies they are the only game openly in town, which we know to be untrue.

I think Rian Johnson did a great job of addressing ppls dis-illusion w the Jedi based on the prequels while bringing it back to the fact that Jedi are necessary and Luke was wrong to think they should end. Hedland seems to take the Luke from the start of TLJ as being right… which is… concerning
"Jedi Prime" seems like one of those things that showrunners "leak" to gauge reaction to said thing.
Either way, it's a shite title.
No Star Wars “super fan” would be anywhere near this company, let alone acting in the next garbage
I'm not a big fan of disney star wars because of how bad the sequels are. Still I am hopeful that disney has learned from their mistakes and won't also mess up Star Wars stories right before the original trilogy's timeline.
I kinda wish they had started with the Old Republic with just flashy Jedi vs Sith battles which is maybe more what disney story telling is capable of.
It will be great if they pull off a first live action story set in the High Republic that isn't bad and adds to the lore of Star Wars while maintaining continuity. However, it's magnitudes worse if they write another Not Star Wars story and original Star Wars gets bracketed by garbage star wars in the timeline. That said, I think disney isn't quite as star wars dumb now as they were when they made the sequels. I think it's likely this will be at least goodish star wars and HOPEfully fans can finally breath a sigh of relief that the era of terrible disney star warts is over.

That mosaic from The Last Jedi just screams "Balance is when you're half using the light side and half using the dark side". These idiots just don't understand and can't be bothered to try. They have it fixed in their heads that it's just like yin and yang and no power is the 'verse is going to stop them. It's been apparent from the first TLJ trailers and every new series just drops a new little hint that this is what they think.
Mentioning “The Wrong Jedi” was a major spoiler! The latest trailer shows the apparent villain pleading, “It wasn’t me!”
The show runner has described successive episodes as “peeling back an onion”, as more of a mystery is revealed.

Jedi Prime, if true, is such a lame name. But what else do you expect from DLF these days. The more I hear or read what headland says about the Acolyte the more and more I think it's going to be a massive dumpster fire.

Name one story nowadays that is completely original without inspirations from anything. Everything is a twist on a classic tale or story. Like please, calm down. Since the show is not out, I don’t think it’s fair to judge a show by inspirations. If these inspirations fail, then fine. If they succeed, then great.
There is no such a thing as a new story idea, all things are inspired by something or have been thought about before, there isnt a single story idea that is literally new.
