Great Video thank you, I have to clean and or replace fuel injectors and change spark plugs and wires while I have easy access. Ordered & received 2 Plenum Gaskets. Can anyone tell me the part number for the Gasket that goes where the four bolts lock into the throttle body, that's the gasket I'm having a hard time getting hold of.
I think this is gonna be my next attempt to fix my cylinder 6 misfire! I've been chasing this issue on my '01 Ranger Edge 3.0L for several months now! It only misfires after it's warmed up, and pretty much only at idle as far as I can tell. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's pretty frequent. It usually starts misfiring when coming to a stop and idling for a minute, or immediately after it's shut off and started back up while warm (like when stopping for gas and then when I go to leave the station it's misfiring). I've already done new plugs and wires, new coil pack, new camshaft synchronizer and position sensor, and ran some fuel injector cleaner.
@@skypirate7579 Still haven't fixed mine. I'm 90% sure now though that it's a compression issue. I'm planning to pull the driver side head but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Do the injectors need to be programmed? I’m still getting a misfire in 2. And I t was overheating after I changed the injectors because I didn’t clamp down a radiator hose tight enough. Had to change thermostat now I’m getting insufficient coolant temp for closed loop fuel control too.Anyone please help!!!! I can’t wait until A.I helps mechanics…
Awesome video, I'm trying to fix a cylinder 6 misfire on my 06 Ranger and I think this might be the solution I need. It rarely misfires when the gas tank is full, could that be indicative of a faulty injector?
Lmk uf it fixed your issues. After almost running out of gas and barely making it to a gas station my ranger started misfiring on cylinder 6 aswell and i have no idea what couldve caused it. I changed sparkplugs and wires and its still misfiring
When I start my 99 Ford ranger with a 3.0 up I can drive for roughly 25 minutes. Everything’s great if I shut it down for roughly 10 minutes there is a constant miss from cylinder number five for the rest of the day I’m going to replace the fuel injectors I already did a compression test, vacuum test, change, spark, plugs, and wires along with coil pack and I’ve only got 120,000 miles on this I am the original owner.
Hey guys, I’m fairly new to diy mechanic. I need to rebuild my ford, but I use it at the same time. Would it be a good idea to take a small loan and buy all the parts I need to try and knock it out during the weekend?
So the other day I was driving up this hill and my truck felt like it was skipping gears reving at high rpm’s on low gear as I’m coming back home my truck completely shut off on me had to get it towed, cranked but no start . I noticed that I no longer could hear the fuel pump kick on as u usally can hear it them on these rangers and I was getting a crank but no start but couldn’t hear my fuel pump kick on . I went to go take of the Air intake tube & put a rag with some gas on the throttle bodie and it fired up but died slowly or if I wasn’t keeping it steady holding the pedal for high rpm’s it would stay on but with very rough idle . I’m getting fuel pressure because I checked that pressure valve next to the fuel regulator and I had gas come out so I know I’m getting somewhat fuel but could this be caused by bad injectors, fuel pump, throttle bodie, ? Help from anyone is appreciated, thanks !
So the customer spent money to change the ignition components and the problem was the injector? The proper scanner would've shown the electrical fault in the injector through an active test saving the customer lots of money. Too bad mechanics don't invest in tools that save time for them and money for the customers. It's not in the best interest of the business profits. LoL
@adpsears1 you lose more customers doing stuff like that, having the customer spend money for parts that don't fix the issue plus the injector and labor charge for that will definitely give you a bad rep causing no custom causing loss of money.
Thanks for the info bud. You helped me do this repair on my 98 B3000 today and I'm very grateful.
Just inherited poppop's '02 with a 3.0 and a P302. Fresh coil didn't do it so I may be doing this soon. Thanks for making it seem not so daunting.

very smart to replace all of them, since you already have it apart.
I am so glad to find your video. My 1999 Ranger may need the same. Grateful for your xlnt video and clarity.

I am running lean in cylinder one. Do you think it could be the injector? Awsome video by the way!

should the fuel pump relay be taken out before doing this?
Is there a upper and lower intake gasket ?
Really good vid on this . Thanks

Why would any business spend money to make less money? Not a mechanic, just sayin

Pain in the ass to disconnect the fuel line

you’re welcome
Replaced my injectors and now it won't even crank
