It’s not really about range, though. I have never thought deeply about his type of voice, but now that I do, I actually think he may be onto something here. Listen to Castle On The Hill live, his tone is darker than a tenor’s. He obviously CAN sing really high notes, but his lower range is insane, and it sounds so rich and dark. He sounds like a tenor when he sings high notes, though. Wow, what a complex voice he has. I love it!
