Love the food hauls. I try to stay between $50 - $80 a week...just me and the cat!!! I really like homemade hummus and use it for sandwiches with red peppers either roasted or raw on sprouted bread (not mine unfortunately). In love with silken tofu at the moment...scrambles and sauces. Mini watermelons are so cool. I think Marcy is going to have her own restaurant!!!!
Hello MaryAnn! That’s a good budget to stick to! Do you eat organic or conventional? We love our small watermelons! And yes maybe Mercy will run her own restaurant one day!! That would be so incredible!
I do some organic and some conventional...following the dirty dozen list if possible. HoneyCrisp are great for eating...I like Grannys for pie the best. Love those sale items.
I enjoy seeing what all you buy and just the variety of meals you come up with. My husband could eat the same few things day in and day out year-round. I like variety though- and your videos do give me ideas. Thanks for all you do to get these out there for us.
I do love variety myself! But Trey taught me it’s actually beneficial to eat a very basic diet every single day so your body knows what to process! We appreciate you and happy to see you love our videos and spending time with us 😍
I'm apart of a family of three and we have been trying to cut down our grocery bill, but it still seems like we spend almost two hundred for a weeks worth of food. That does include me purchasing some organic foods from Costco. We actually saw seeded grapes this past trip at Costco which I have not seen in years. Finding seeded watermelon is not even a option anymore. We go through a lot of parsley and cilantro as well and planted some seeds this past weekend. Im hoping the weather will start to cool off about time they get big enough to replant. I also want to mention that I enjoy how your videos are authentic, no pretenses of trying to have everything perfect or impress people. A simple family doing their best to raise kids and try to be as healthy as possible.
Hello! We appreciate you watching our video so much! Yes it really is very difficult to cut down groceries, and when shopping deals it’s just so hard to find healthy foods. Most things that have coupons are just junk foods and never on wholesome good food. If you can, plant some grapes and watermelons! We have some watermelon seeds down but not sure what it will yield at the moment. We are all just trying to get by and do our best, no need to be impressing people but trying to share our journey and find likeminded people like yourself!
We are a family of 3 & our budget is $200 a week too. We shop at Aldi’s & get as much there as possible. Then to a bigger box store for the things Aldi doesn’t have. We are in Missouri & have seeded watermelons, but no seeded grapes. We planted a few things this year & will expand next year. Turning the front yard into our garden; no more grass.
We usually just dip veggies in our hummus, but when I'm in a hurry I make a quick salad dressing with hummus by adding some fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, and water to thin it to the consistency we like. It's quite yummy!
Those watermelons look lovely. Haven't been able to find them in my grocery store yet. I love Elstar or Jonagold apples. Can't wait for the new apple season! I thought groceries in my country are expensive, but I guess I should stop whining.... I have been bulking up my meals a lot with beans and am buying mostly veg from the freezer. That keeps my bills a bit lower. However, I never cut down on my fruits.
Oh wow these apples elstar and jonagold we’ve never heard of! So interesting! Groceries here are hiked up in prices it’s terrible! Where are you located?
I’m a family of 3 and I get stamps and WIC. For a while I was trying to only shop for food with the amount they gave me monthly. I always went over. We do have a picky toddler. So we end up buying alot of snacks and vegan convenience foods.
Hello Gabriella! Lovely to have you here! Totally understand when you have a kiddo but when you start early they just slowly adapt too! Don’t give up. It would be nice if we qualified for some stamps as that’ll help a ton with groceries!
What a beautiful grocery haul. Isn’t the cost insane? It’s even worse up here. I try to average about 50 dollars a week for just me alone. I also grow and preserve as much as I can and I get things in season. I like canned potatoes so I can them in the summer and make home fries or potato salad or use them for soups. Honey crisp all the way. Yumm. I would love a cashew video. I drink tea with cashew milk only so I prefer to make my own. I get a bag from Amazon every other month of the pieces, and occasionally get a bag of whole ones for cooking purposes.
You’re doing it right! $50 a week is great plus you’re preserving and canning your own! I’ve tried canning before and it was a very cool experience but didn’t get back into it after moving out here. We are thinking of dehydrating our veg and we can rehydrate when needed. I love that you make your own cashew milk that’s so great we only have made our own oat milk and hemp milk! Yes team honey crisp!!
@@thehaipath I love my dehydrator. That thing is a work horse in my kitchen. I’m thinking about dehydrating some carrots and onions and maybe some peppers in the fall when I get back from Thailand. I planted a few things but not a ton because I’ll be gone all summer. I planted some cabbage, onions, leeks, squash, and eggplants. I hope they survive lol. I’ll be relying on the farmers markets and grocery store this year for my preservation needs.
Ooh very interesting do you make it yourself? We’ve actually seen some videos on making lentil or chickpea tofu which is so interesting we will have to play around with it!
Those tiny red potatoes will make great smashed potatoes & trey will be happy. We love hummus on sandwiches; we make a “valley veggie” sandwich. A hearty bread, all the veggies you want, hummus, stone ground mustard, & we splurge & add a slice of vegan cheese. We like the same apples you & Trey like. Red delicious is no longer a good tasting apple. We’re a family of 3, we each have a different medical diet. We spend $200 a week. We shop at Aldi’s.
I did think the same about those small little potatoes, smashed crispy potatoes would work great using those! Red delicious I’ve found them to be a bit tough, golden delicious are better if you can find them. I love your sandwich idea, hummus just adds so much creaminess and flavors! We wish there was an Aldi here too, I’ve heard you can find great deals on food there!
Hi Suzanne! We’re so excited to be a part of your work break, it feels awesome to create a close knit friendship with this amazing community with people like yourself! How are you? How’s work treating ya? Hope they’re not working you too hard!
@@thehaipathactually work is always good! I’m very lucky to be happy with my work. I’m a work from homer and I love it. I wish I could have done it when I was raising my daughter. I love that you are with your kids all the time. They will be all the better for it ♥️
@suzannemomma yes work at home is such a blessing! It can be challenging but it’s totally worth it because being with the kids and watching them grow is so important!
Hello all the way to Australia! That’s roughly the same as $450 usd which is what we spent! Sometimes more sometimes less but man are things getting crazy expensive! Are you able to grow your own food on your land or even in pots to help offset the expense? Tomatoes are easy to grow!
@@thehaipath we work in the north west 2,500 km from our property most of the year which is making that tricky but we do have a thriving orchard and berry orchard going in the south which we maintain and enjoy the fruits from every year.
Budget….I’m trying to keep mine at $75 a week for one but it is tough. I do have my pantry pretty stocked now, so I’m hoping I can come a little below that now. However, I rarely do organic. Just can’t afford it. 🤷🏼♀️
That’s a good budget to go with for one, yes organic is definitely harder and more expensive. What about trying to find some deals on organic or frozen organic vegetables?
Hi there! We add B12 in tablet form, if you're looking for just a B12 this is what we use Designs by Health B12 amzn.to/4bkCDca however if you're looking for a multivitamin with B12 we suggest BodyHealth Brand bodyhealth.com/products/multi-complete or Seeking Health Multivitamin. You can also use Seeking Health B Complex Plus but you only need half because it's quite strong. If you do it like that, you get double what you're paying for. Both Seeking health and BodyHealth are founded by doctors and we highly suggest them! Hope this helps! Designs by Health also has very high standards and produces a superior product. They're a little costly but its well worth it.

I love empire and red rome apples. We pick a ton of them in the fall. The red rome have cool red streaks running through the inside.
Empire and red Rome apples! Such cool names I’ve never heard of those sounds so good, I’ll have to see if Whole Foods has those next time we go
My favorite apple is Cosmic Crisp. Crunchy, sweet, and delicious!
Ooh those are good too cosmic crisps!! We want some apple trees so bad
Agreed!
I mix hummus with pasta and veggies for dinner
Oooh yes good idea! I believe I did that once with some hummus and pasta and it gave it a nice creamy cheesy texture!!
Great price on the avocado packs, I love those too. They freeze very well.
Yes they do! They always have clearance sales for these things, hummus too!!

Oh darn that’s maybe why! We have them in the hot sun, that sucks. We will have to replant them from seed.
Do you have an extra refrigerator somewhere?
Hi Mary! We do! But we don’t use that one for groceries, only for extra vitamins or cultured/fermented things!
Would love cashew ideas.
