Its true though. Amazing price, ELW barrel is really good! I got 1.25in groups from my BCM with super vel 55gr training ammo. I'm super impressed, the upper has been reliable with over a thousand rounds through it.
@@MrShortanswer1k rounds IS NOT A LOT. Every rifle should maintain decent accuracy at 1000 rounds or even slightly over. Talk to us when you hit 10k or some shit...
For the 95% of buyers out there that shoot less than 500 rounds a year. Buy the PSA and an armorer's wrench, better yet get the PSA upper without a BCG/CH and buy a blem Toolcraft BCG and a blem Radian Raptor. Get it home, take it completely apart and reassemble it, if you find any unresolvable issues, contact PSA's warranty. There you go, now BCM's QC is no longer an advantage and you're not paying twice as much for a chrome lined barrel and a logo. Also, since you shoot less than 500 rounds per year, your barrel will still last 4-6 years and you can upgrade it to a higher quality barrel when the time comes.
Lol the average person isn't going to be able to do anywhere near the qc bcm does to it's guns. Simply taking it apart and putting it back together isn't even scratching the surface. Watch the bcm qc video on RUclips. They are using many diff tools and gauges/bore scopes etc to inspect their shit
@marklower007 The argument isn't whether or not the average person can do those HPI/MP inspections on the barrel. The QC I was talking about was to make sure the gun would shoot reliably. This is a video about value builds, lets face it, value builds usually are because the buyer is tight on budget and don't have much if any owned kit. For under $1000 you could have a PSA upper ($250) with a blem toolcraft BCG ($75), blem Radian Raptor ($65) and a Aero lower ($70) with an Aero LPK ($90). Then throw in 10 PMags ($125), a Sig Romeo 5 ($110), a TREX Sling ($60) and a HLX light ($130). All-in you're about the same price as the BCM upper with a BCG and a charging handle, obviously the BCM is higher quality and an actual duty grade rifle, that's not refuted. But if it comes down to someone being able to afford a complete rifle ready to shoot, the PSA opens the door to a lot more people.
I've tested LaRue triggers, they aren't as consistent as Geissele when it comes to what you get out of the packaging. It's easy to prefer a cheaper trigger if you get a good one, but we have multiple of each and Geissele is always the same. Consistently fantastic.
@@brandon.wombat well for what a G costs that's expected wouldn't you say? But for half the price a larue offers a good 2 stage that's perfectly adequate. And the video is concerning the best bang for your buck. A geissele is not that. You're paying premium for premium.
@_JEBUS that's why I opened with this being an opinionated conversation lol I also don't think any trigger comes close to Geisseles reset. Usually, triggers have a good break OR a good reset, Geissele has both.
@@brandon.wombat I've never experienced any discernible inconsistency in any of my MBT-2S and I've got them installed on 3 different rifles. 2 with the heavy spring and 1 with the light spring. Other than the spring itself, I don't see what would cause any issues. That said, I don't own any Geissele triggers and have a hard time believing they're worth 2-3x the price of something like the MBT-2S. One of these days I need to buy one or two of them , maybe a G2S and an SSA-E and see if they're actually worth that much or they've just mastered the placebo effect.
It would be great if you did a video on AR parts to stock up on. Something that covers what will break first on this rifle and what we need to have to keep it running.
Bolts, gas rings, extractor and good colt or springco springs to go with it, commonly lost parts like detents and grip springs, these can also be used to dial in your saftey if you arent happy with it. Gas keys, some screws and a way to stake them along with permatex and a stone can be handy. A few different firing pins to deal with tolerance stacking in bolts and BCGs etc. Going a level above just replacing consumption items, is having the ability to problem solve relatively simple issues as the end user can be incredibly handy.

I tell everyone who’s looking to get an AR to go with BCM. If they have a little extra and really want to spring for something a little better I point to the Black Friday sale on the Geissele Super Duty. It comes in around 16-1700 clams. Also, the LaRue MBT2S is a pretty damn good trigger for the price, and THE definition of value. It’s not an SSAE-X, but it’s a third of the cost..
Yeah. The AR you own is worth infinitely more than the one you wish you could afford. You can always save for something better once you secure that first one and get out to the range.

I'd say the two best value full rifles are from BCM and PSA, specifically the Sabre line. Also I have to disagree on the best value trigger being Geissele. The PSA Sabre is 90% of the way there while being less than half the price and, if you want a single stage, the Velocity 3lb trigger is phenomal and under $150. Edit: I've finished the video and realized that you seem to not know what value means despite explaining it well in the beginning.
Pretty similar here for the most part. Upper: BCM 14.5 ELW, SF3P, SOLGW BCG, Raptor CH. Lower: M4E1, G2S, Talon safety, VLTOR A5, Magpul furniture. Optics/Light: Romeo 5, Modlite PLHv2 and button. Just need to get an Eotech setup and I’m “done” hah
My preference is Geissele or D.D. for a 1,000-ish upper with great barrels, good BCG and options to get them with a Surefire muzzle device. BCM is really great too.
I used AR15 discounts to purchase the parts as they went on sale. I was able to build a pretty sick 13.7 Pin and weld build for DUMMY cheap. Larue MBT trigger should also be the standard BTW
I still think the Daniel defense stripped uppers from Brownells is the best value. Especially for a ELITE upper The M4A1 is a heavy profile barrel, pinned gas block. It’s a phenomenal deal. You can find promo codes for 10% off and they go on sale a few times a year. Excellent value For an ELITE upper I think that’s the best deal around.
i got mine for $700 flat with dd charging handle (all brand new)... just slapped in a microbest BCG and threw it on a lower i had laying around. paid less than BCM $$$ for a DD rifle. I used my savings to buy optics and ammo
I recently built a BCM Standard upper with a Stagg Arms lower. My local shop only had a Stagg stripped lower available. Just put a few hundred rounds through it and I love it.

RMR was originally designed to be a rifle optic. They had to change the design when people started putting them on handguns because the battery contacts would mess up with the recoil
Totally agree, BCM standard products are excellent. I have a MK2 upper with a standard 14.5" barrel. Damn thing shoots more accurately than my 16" Super Duty.
I say buy what you can afford, and then tinker around with it later. I just bought a PSA 8.5 upper in .300 Blackout with no charging handle or BCG. It was their daily deal. I think I got it for 189.00. Its actually the first time I have ever got anything from PSA. I threw a Armaspec gas reducing charging handle in it, i think it was around $85. I put a Sons of Liberty BCG in it, $225.00 if I recall correctly, so about $500 for the complete upper....definitely not cheap. I put the upper on an Anderson lower. Timney AR 3lb trigger in the lower. $150.00 for trigger I think. The thing runs like a sewing machine, anything from 125 grain Winchester open tip, to 220 grain federal subs. Now just waiting on my Trash Panda suppressor. I love Bravo Company because they are in the state where I live, and I know a few people who work there. I have several of their stocks, handguards, grips, etc. but their is nothing wrong with spending less, messing around with your gun, making it work, and making it yours. Just my 2 cents
I got a 16” BCM with the fixed front sight post and a quad rail for the vibes. It’s a good rifle but that FSP is more annoying than I thought it would be. Wish I went the 14.5” MLOK route
My recommendation is always sionics patrol rifles. The price for value is absolutely unmatched. 4150 chrome lined barrel, Radian CH, Sionics NP3 BCG, great reciever fitment, upgraded 2 stage trigger, 1/8 twist, springco spring. It's a gun thats done out of the box better than anything in its range of 1,300. You can also just get their uppers for around 900 in 11.5, 12.5, 16 inch offerings. Ohh yeah, and that price includes a CH, BCG, and the option for gas port sizing made for supressors. Thats not to take aeay from BCM who also makes very nice guns/uppers. Its just crazy no one talks about sionics who is making outstanding guns.
What are your thoughts on the PSA Sabre 14.5"? It comes with the Geissle MK14 rail, FN CHF barrel, Radian Raptor LT charging handle, Hiperfire RBT trigger, and Magpul furniture. Seems like a good buy for $1250.
I built out 2 of these recently one myself and another for a family member. But I did the lowers myself as I already had some blank lowers laying around. I still chose the Sabre lower parts kit as it still a great value for the items included. The 2 uppers have been great. I would recommend going over the cross bolts on the Geissele handguard to make sure they ae torqued to spec 5ft lbs. If you price out all the parts for the upper you will definitely spend more than what PSA charges. If you shoot suppressed you will need to swap out the buffer spring and buffer to a blue SpringCo and a h2 to gas the rifle properly.
I've settled on a quality CHF barrel, toolcraft BCG and Geissele trigger/Super 42. Aero upper and lower and call it good. This combo has served me well suppressed and dirty.
Very solid, I sold my aero items for a radian and it's worth. I also like how pro 2a radian is compared to aero selling to Leo in their own banned state.
Had the radian SD charging handle snap on me at the front where it attaches to the carrier key. Warrenty took care of it, but im not keeping the replacement
I’m building my very first rifle I’ve ever owned now, it’s almost done! It’s similar to this setup in some ways. I also went with a BCM upper (11.5 MK2 BFH) but splurged a bit with a radian lower for the full ambi options it offered with the bolt controls through the mag release. I also got a Geissele trigger on sale for 40% off and free shipping at primary arms which covers almost the full cost of the radian sd charging handle. Went with the VLTOR a5 h2 but that might change when I get a suppressor. B5 systems pistol grip and sba4 brace. For the accessories I currently can’t decide between a holosun AEMS or eotech + magnifier. Will also probably be getting a modlite okw or cloud defense light at some point soon. No idea for the sling yet but I’ll figure that out later. I hope to get night vision at some point but I see no point of spending 2k on a laser now if I have no night vision to use it with:( Let me know your thoughts on the build as it’s supposed to function as a general purpose SHTF and home defense rifle.
That's a very solid build @SammyA12! I have a 11.5 suppressed, it works great up close and out to 250m quite well! ( Past 250M, I'm grabbing a 7.62 / .308!) I don't think you'll need to change the A5H2 once you suppress. I own and use both Holosun and Eotech, I really like the Holosun prices over the Eotechs. Both are great! Sling wise I run Blue Force Gear and VTAC slings, love both!
You seem to be comparing "Chrome Lined" with "CHF". Most CHF barrels im aware of are Chrome Lined. Also, Stainless is a completely different type of steel than the 4150CMV that most mil-spec and CHF barrels are comprised of. Its much softer making it easy to machine (more accurate in theory) but also softer (reducing barrel life). Comparing the 2 is really apples and oranges. A better comparison would be PSA's cheaper nitride treated vs BCM's Phosphate/Chrome lined CHF or standard barrels. The core steel is theoretically the same, just with a different finish/rifling method.
I think he made that comparison because there’s a slew of barrels out there that are chrome lined but not chf and people are always asking which is better vs the cl chf ones
It's a small detail, but the great thing about the B5 SOPMOD is it has a really long cheek flare. I still prefer the BCM Gunfighter furniture over B5, but it's not always the best option depending on your set up. Something like an ACOG or even a dot/magnifier combo that has a fairly short eye-relief will leave you needing to shorten the LoP on a BCM stock because the cheek flare only runs about 2/3 the length of the stock instead of the whole length like the B5. I just wish the B5's were designed to fit as snugly as the BCM's usually do. Stocks that rattle are annoying af.

What perfect timing that this video is being posted about best AR-15 for the money. I just accidentally came across a AR-15 at my local 'gun store' aka the best pawn shop in the world that mainly sells guns, lol. It's a Spikes tactical SR-15 rifle that originally costed $1,000 as the base rifle before it was modified. The previous owner added a Cryptic bolt-carrier group ($450), fab defense stock ($75), Radian Raptor charging handle ($120), I forget the trigger brand/model but it was ($300), some cheap holosun red dot ($100), short throw safety selector ($45), Magpul MBUS Pro metal backup sights ($200), custom dust cover with graphics ($75), Daniel Defense MFR handguard 15" ($350), flash forwarding can ($250), Magpul grip ($35). That's $3,000 overall combined MSRP cost for the rifle and all of the parts added. Do you know how much they were selling it for? $599.99 🤑 I bought it immediately after inspecting it myself. Even hypothetically if the barrel was shot out I could cheaply replace it and accurize the barrel and receiver fitment simultaneously for less than $500 making it an $1,100 cost for a $3,000 gun.

Eye relief on the very expensive ACOG, is really short. Primary Arms 3x-5x micro prism are a better value, and they've got a GLX version, with better glass coming, for about 1/4 of the price. They gotta be close to as durable as the acog, and you can get the ACSS reticle in multiple versions. Primary Arms ACSS became so popular, acog licensed a version of it.
I love my LWRC. I'm quick as hell with it. Got to watch some of the ambis because you can accidentally hit your magazine release I've had problems with a couple of others but I don't with my lwrc. People think you have to get it with the tip of your finger but I just kind of bow my finger in and roll my hand a little bit when I want to lock it back.
You have to start with the use case. This video assumes that everyone who buys an AR-15 is going to be a serious operator who takes a rifle class every month or two and puts thousands of rounds through it every year. Almost no one actually does that (outside their day dreams). We're not all Brandon or Lucas, competing and running a firearms business and GunTube channel.
I love a lot of what this video is about. It would've been nice to hear Brandon dunk on LMT and H&K as well instead of just KAC, because none of them offer good value

Geissele is a great value during sales events like Black Friday and 4th of July. You can save a TON of money during these events. Same with their triggers and pretty much everything they sell.
Good vid, for the record the biggest difference in running cold hammer vs chrome is the heat dissipation under rapid sustained fire. Iv never shot enough to prove it myself but the rumor/theory is the better you manage heat through the life of the barrel the longer the rifling will wear in an even manor thus keeping consistent performance. The faster you "burn up a barrel" the faster it becomes a cost and in terms of military use (which is where the need to compare comes from) a barrel that lasts 40k+ rounds is more important depending on application than a more accurate, lighter or whatever barrel that only lasts 20k.
Wouldn't a more correct comparison be between chrome lined and nitrided? Cold hammer forged would be more about how the rifling is made, so it would be compared to buttoning?
Primary arms sales. 10-13% off pretty much once a month at least. Plus, you can get the upper and lower separately, so you don't have to drop all the money at once. Can allow you to get a better/ more expensive rifle.
F the RMR on top, with the dust here in AZ, closed emitter is the way to go. Even if you are not in AZ; rain, snow, mud and open emitters don't go too well together. I think Brandon is spot on with a closed emitter option on top. Just make sure it is rated for g-forces seen on rifle calibers.

I’ve never paid full price for a SSA-E trigger. It’s worth waiting the 2-4 times a year they go on sale, usually around $150-$170 on primary arms around Christmas or 4th of July type holidays.
Value is relative. There’s no reason for someone who shoots less than 1k rounds per year should spend over 1k on a rifle imo. That’s why psa sells so many guns!

I've been noticing issues with the BCM stuff I've bought lately. 2 carriers both with leaky gas keys (leak test performed with oil around the base, bolt inserted in the carrier held back with thumb to create the interior seal, and compressed air filling the carrier key with a rubber tipped air chuck - bubbles form at the base where the oil was applied when leaking, SOLGW M76 lube works best for the test) as well as oversized bolt tail seals resulting in inefficient gas seals between the bolt tail and carrier (reduces how much gas is effectively being uses to open the bolt during unlock, less gas means its likely to stop running sooner when dirty, cold, or with weak ammo.) Also, one of the carriers only has a few thousand rounds and the extractor is already failing my PTG extractor gauge test. P.S. - this isn't necessarily to sway anyone from BCM, but rather I want folks to put some pressure on them if they are slacking and fix whatever issues are going on in QC. Carrier keys are intended to be sealed with Permatex or some sort of gasket sealant per TDP specification, TDP being one of the documents BCM touts as the standard they go by and hold themselves to. If gas keys are coming out of their factory leaking, that's less than optimal and not on brand for BCM (all my PSAs leak..its a total detriment just not as efficient). P.P.S - if you don't think gas leaks matter, I changed a gas key, (stoned sealed and staked) for a friend on a PSA that was leaking, it went from ejecting at 5 o clock with m193 to ejecting at 3 with the same ammo.
Saying geissele triggers are good value is an absolutely deranged take. I have more geissele triggers than anything else, but the diminishing returns are massive going past $100 on an AR trigger. A surefire can being high value is also insane.
Full price G triggers ain't worth it. Sale down in the $150 range and it's another story. Schmid, heavily rebranded, are excellent for a 1/3 of the price. Yet for smoothness I'd give the win to the Geissel2 SSA. I really want to try the SOLGW 2 stage made by Schmid next.
Larue mbt 2s is the best top tier budget trigger. You can get them in sale for just under 100 and they rock. The new PSA saber enhanced trigger is also very good. It is just a schmid trigger but with different coating and springs. Mine breaks at 2.5lbs and breaks very clean.
Garand thumb doing the 7k burn down on the psa and from what I remeber not having a lug or firing pin break makes the argument about price not necessarily valid. That being said do what you want, it's your money.

I agree.
Absolutely the best response ever
@@phobiargSuper solid take for those of us that are lower bougie class
If you're talking budget and value it's crazy to recommend a geissele over larue. Paying 2x the money for a slightly better trigger.
I got my SSAE for $100, i know its the best geis but ill takee that all day for 100.
It would be great if you did a video on AR parts to stock up on. Something that covers what will break first on this rifle and what we need to have to keep it running.
Bolts, firing pins, gas rings, charging handles
Bolts, gas rings, extractor and good colt or springco springs to go with it, commonly lost parts like detents and grip springs, these can also be used to dial in your saftey if you arent happy with it.
Gas keys, some screws and a way to stake them along with permatex and a stone can be handy.
A few different firing pins to deal with tolerance stacking in bolts and BCGs etc.
Going a level above just replacing consumption items, is having the ability to problem solve relatively simple issues as the end user can be incredibly handy.
No need to stock up on parts when you can just stock up on the rifles of your fallen foes. 🎉

You can always save for something better once you secure that first one and get out to the range.
The best ar is the one you can afford and is reliable.

My recommendation is always sionics patrol rifles.
You can find complete rifles for 950ish, and complete uppers for around 650 when Sionics is doing sales as well.
Thanks for the info! It'd be fun for you guys to do a few Radian reviews at some point, they seem like a solid company.

I hope to get night vision at some point but I see no point of spending 2k on a laser now if I have no night vision to use it with:(

Sling wise I run Blue Force Gear and VTAC slings, love both!
Ferro Concepts makes a great sling.
He IS comparing BCM’s standard (chrome lined) and CHF barrels. The whole discussion is the 2 BCM barrels they offer on their site.

Almost no one actually does that (outside their day dreams). We're not all Brandon or Lucas, competing and running a firearms business and GunTube channel.

Geissele is a great value during sales events like Black Friday and 4th of July. You can save a TON of money during these events. Same with their triggers and pretty much everything they sell.
LMT and done!
Now is the time to buy AR’s. Solid video
Primary arms sales. 10-13% off pretty much once a month at least. Plus, you can get the upper and lower separately, so you don't have to drop all the money at once. Can allow you to get a better/ more expensive rifle.

Psa has had the Armalite M153GN18 on sale for 999$ the gun normally sells for 1500 and is worth the 1500 price tag so with how cheap it is on sale and how accurate zero recoil and everything it comes with is just absolutely amazing it's a hidden gem and more people need to see what I'm talking about it has an adjustable gas block rifle length gas adjustable 3 port muzzle break 18 inch ss 416r medium contour barrel timney 3lb single stage trigger luth mba-1 stock ambi radian raptor charging handle ergo deluxe wide grip 15 inch anti rotating m-lock or keymod Handguard very lightweight ambi safty they also come in a 13 inch model or a 308 model only thing I changed on it was added an ambi mag realse
Thank you for the information. Great Advice.
The Scope RDS you are running is perfect for 99% of what most will use that rifle for.
Is BCM still having Barrel QC issues?
I like the Spikes Tactical slick sided stripped upper. No dust cover, forward assist or brass deflector.
Like I said rifle iron sights ammo all u need
You are a wise man.
for me every shtf type of rifle has got to have GOOD iron sights on it. If a guy wants to add optics that's fine but not at the expense of irons...
I have a complete BCM rifle and I love it!
I love BCM, but another option for that is the IWI Zion 15. Very accurate for the money. At or Under 1" groups at 100yds in my experience
my brother in law has a zion and it’s a very capable rifle. big fan of
Sure it does
@@Rubeless you should try one before you knock it.
What's your opinion of the "BLACKOUT DEFENSE" (Duel taper lock) made in Chandler, Arizona? I hear their trigger is amazing also!! Yes, it looks over priced.... but, have to seen and handled one of their AR15 builds?
2200 laser “best values rifle” 😐
Priorities: I drive a 12 year old shitbox, have the T-MObile free signup phone and can't play half the new PC games that come out on my 8 year old graphics card but I've got a SCAR-17, Elcan, MAWL and a PVS-14 WP thinfilm and a DD Mk18 pistol with a T2 and a DBAL and enough ammo to shoot every weekend.
Get your mind right!
Thank you!!! I've been saying for years that past a certain dollar amount, it's diminishing returns. Too many latch on to the cost of a gun equating to that gun being so much better or the best. Couldn't be further from the truth.
Dude is talking “Value” for AR-15 and proposing $2k+ in optics. Good grief
I have t finished watching yet but value doesn’t mean inexpensive.
Value and quality doesn’t mean your sub $1000 budget shit.
I have a ATI Milsport lower, Ballistic Advantage 8.5 300blk upper, Cryptic NiBo BCG, and Jacob Grey Muzzle, and Sig red dot with magnifier, works great!
Geissele complete rifle on sale
My first Rifle was an AUG (as an Austrian - no question ) but then i switch to an DD M18 and build an Block 2 "Clone"and i dont think i give it ever away 😂❤
Oh bust out the popcorn boys this comment section is gonna be lit with a sea of, "Just as good."
Hope my LMT specwar is “just as good”, I’m eating ramen still because of it!!!
Yeah, that was weird. Geissele is nice, but a BCM PNT would be great for a budget minded build.
Larue mbt 2s is the best top tier
budget trigger. You can get them in sale for just under 100 and they rock.
The new PSA saber enhanced trigger is also very good. It is just a schmid trigger but with different coating and springs. Mine breaks at 2.5lbs and breaks very clean.
BLEMULA uppers are my go to. Best value to performance I use to find.
Garand thumb doing the 7k burn down on the psa and from what I remeber not having a lug or firing pin break makes the argument about price not necessarily valid. That being said do what you want, it's your money.
14.5 bcm blem upper on andro corp lower is what I'm running. Added matching bcm furniture, geiselle trigger, radian charging handle, surefire warcomp, and rein 3.0 light.
Optic is gen 4 PA slx 1 to 6 acss nova
Larue > Geissele.
I’m running aero precision all around! Great value, I did loose the a2 grip in favor of BCM gunfighter grip. I love that rifle!
My aero is very accurate and reliable. I’m tempted to get a cold hammer forged BCM, thinking I’m missing something. I wonder if there’s a real difference?
Geissele G2S or spend the extra for SSA?
Or go buy a single stage match trigger for cheaper
Which ones would you recommend checking out?
SSAE > Larue MBT-2S > G2S
I have three ssa, I recommend the Larue or ALG.
SSA or ssaE
Essentially the E is just a bit light pull, maybe better for SPR or DMR rifle, but a general purpose or CQB I love SSA triggers worth the money.
Black Friday is usually good time to get em for 100 bucks off😊
BCM upper with Aero lower is an excellent combo aesthetically and performance.
