That new velcro field is awesome. Every single time I pull up my placard it rips my tourniquet holder off. Glad you solved this small but frustrating problem.
Telling people they dont need to buy the new stuff if they already have the previous versions or a similar product is a good sentiment. Just because something us slightly better doesn't always justify spending money on it when you can spend that elsewhere on other gaps in capability.
God bless your company. Crusty Catholic here. Just feel like you understand both the times but also our history and appreciate your companies leadership.
Never heard a business man say that you don’t need to get this product. To me, that’s good business. I’m not being sarcastic. I appreciate the message and what you guys are doing. Love that your local too.
I unfortunately sold my OG AC1 years ago cus of the straight shoulder straps in favor of a Ferro Slickster. Glad to see Trex has taken this into consideration. May have to try this new one someday.
It's awesome to see you guys value your customers feedback and make improvements on your gear. I like how you explain your "why" when it comes to your process in designing your products. that is important and shows you guys put a lot of thought into making improvements!
Been with yall from almost the very beginning. Purchase almost all my medical supplies from you all! Love what yall represent! On a side note, can we PLEASE get some more “treasures of the orient”
I have the AC Uno, she’s done great. I have a crye spc. The Trex Carriers are better for configurable. I like having the swift clips up front because I use them to hang a backpack on the rear and then swift clips on side of my placards to my side backpack straps.
I really like the new mods to the new ac1.5. I really like there is more then 1 carrier available now. But I wish you guys made a phone holder for atac on ur chest or a attachment for the velcro section on your chest to use other companies phone mounts.
Fantastic update to the product. Love when a company works to improve their products. I didn't see any mention of being able to hook a TAPS or TRAPS to it? Is it not designed to carry that?
It happens a lot in the medical industry. But they won't tell you about it. Thank you for being honest on the manufacturing origins from a bad supplier.
Looks very nice. Why did you "boneyard" the 5" cummerbund? Was it for the new material? These look like 5" on the 1.5 and 0. As always Lucas and Team, your content and products are spot on.
Still one issue with the shoulder straps. Free-floating pads suck noodle, it isn't expensive or difficult to add a patch of loop to the bottom, and it's such a nice QoL thing to not have them sliding around. There are aftermarket solutions, either sewing it yourself, using adhesive, or dedicated adapters for velcro sandwich straps... But it's such a cheap thing to add during production that there's little reason not to have it. I'm kinda "meh" about adding a knock off of the Crye AVS system, it's really not much lower profile than G-hooks, but it's a pain to add or remove. Not sure if the cost is worthwhile. If y'all are all-in on low-pro, something like an elastic tenspeed placard that sits completely flush when empty might be a good option to have. Although, the new placard with velcro up front looks like it would be good enough, and more convenient to don/doff. The added layer of hook/loop for wings is... okay, I guess? Seems like a solution in search of a problem to me, seeing as what, 75% of folks use some kind of QD cummerbund these days? The added bulk shouldn't be an issue for most, but I've hit the point of using a ten-speed placard, usually kept empty, in lieu of kywis up front, and using a DZ rig for LBE over slick armor. Not as cool-guy fast, but holy shit, it is so much nicer to not have all that shit sticking out when doing anything other than shooting. I do like the cummerbund design, I really liked the original AC1's, too, though I'd like to see them in multiple sizes and with QD options. Not a necessity, but it's a nice setup that would be more popular with QD's. Side note, I tried ditching QD's and using velcro-front kywis under a basic elastic cummerbund, it's a surprisingly clean setup, and that's what I would recommend to anyone planning on getting the AC1.5, either with the older kywi placard, or the new one that can do bungees or kywis. The other changes look like nice improvements to me. Not sure if I'll try one out, especially at $240, that's a bit much for a test fit. With the AC1, I couldn't get the plates to ride at the right height, even after sucking in the straps as far as I could without choking myself out.
Why remove the option to have swift clip placards on the ac0? With repair buckles wouldn’t it be easy to take off the buckle to make it super slick again? It just seems like an easy way to allow more customization options.
AC1 has been great so far for my equipped civilian training. AC0 would be great for an even slicker and compact setup to keep in a vehicle. I dig it. Also, Lucas, which watch and band are you wearing in this video?? Looks sharp, I’m a huge sucker for orange accent colors haha!
carrier looks great. I like the changes. I might be rare for this, but I hate the cummerbund. I personally just want ar15 mag pouches only, like 3 on each side like the spiritus systems cummerbund. To each their own. The 3 different size pouches might really be loved and if so, great. I'd love to see different options in the future though.
I'm not sure which one he's using specifically in the video, but a company called WETWRX (formally Parashooter Gear) sells a large IIIA groin protector.
@AncientGloom that's the one I have, it's very well built and I like it but it covers really just my abdomen and some pelvis, not long enough to cover... Everything else lol

@ballisticbeard7 Nah, I'd say the Thorax Incog is closer to the ferro slickster. The panel system here is like a hybrid from the Haley carrier and the ones they designed for crye. This design is also similar to the crye LVS, though it doesn't hold soft armor. This industry is built on companies inspiring each other. Look at why trex has open source designs. But I don't see the improvement on design from the Haley to the AC0 I normally see on trex products.
