My snakes are smaller and I've made pendants with their headsheds. I've also seen them done in regular shed. Cleo's headshed would be beautiful in an oval frame, and Bojangles' would be as well. I always thought if I had a plethora of sheds, it would be lovely decoupaged on journals and mats for pictures. You could sell those things or just the sheds for people to make their own crafts. I've also seen shed used in soap.
Yaaaas! I've kept my monitors' sheds since they were hatchlings and I keep them along with dates and other notations in baby books. I plan on putting some of the more attractive pieces in uv resin. I've dreamed of using shed skin in poly gel nails, uv resin earrings, pendants and keychains and whatever I can come up with.
Oh aaaaand maybe offer finished pieces to subscribers as souvenirs to purchase? I know first hand that feeders can be crazy expensive!
It's so cool seeing the process of laying out the skins like that! I always wondered how they preserved them in museums
If you can get the full "face mask" or a nice big rectangular sheet of shed, laying them against the right color of acid free paper and matting and framing them would look beautiful both as wall art and as a memorial of that time in your life with your snake. I have a TINY African House Snake and I made one of his baby sheds into a tiny little pendant backed by shiny iridescent paper. It's so cute to look back at when he was the size of a thick noodle.
I've seen people add pieces or the whole shed to paintings for a mixed media type of artwork ☺ Also, cool video! You have some great explanations of things every time I watch your content!
