Dan, I love what you had to say about your trip. What an amazing experience and one that is changing. Scary. Brave to rough through the 🌊. My father spent time doing a lot of that travelling with special interest groups with a specific mission . He was a climber and scuba diving instructor, physics teacher, backpacker ect. (Didn’t even know 911 happened he was on Appalachian Trail for 10 days) ,and then birding. The curiosity was endless.I grew up with birds. They’d get on a plane for a bird. My dad would mid -conversation get his binoculars out any say “shhh tufted tit mouse”.. we went with him birding . Especially snowy owls (on the south fork of LI in NY )when I had a daughter. She grew up birding . She’s 15 and love just national parks. I took documentary photos of him his last few years and he was looking out that scope to the end it seems. I have the scope and binoculars and treasure it. The people in that world are amazing it seems! He’s tell me about his new friends. Galapagos, Iceland, was in South America. Loved our planet. I love what you said about our digital archive 😂 why must we do this!😩📷 interested what path you are thinking of - cinema? You’re good at it.
The curious person lives an average of 7.5 years longer than the non-curious. Your padre did you a solid. Just think of what was happening in that man's head on a daily basis. Observation is a joy. I've got my wife doing it now. Yesterday, I was sitting in my office and I hear, "Robin on the tree outside."
@@DANIELMILNOR505 haha you’ve definitely both have it now!….thats fabulous to have overlapping interests . 🦅🕊️ you have now reminded me to look for his bird journal. Ty
Thanks for answering my question about landscapes. I'm surprised you aren't into them considering you live in one of the most beautiful states. And travel to so many amazing places. Looking forward to some seascapes!
Cheers Daniel, I'm no bird head, but i love the Chough's and the Arctic Turns which come to us here on Anglesey, watch them Choughs all day in the wind currents. Class act the old Lady, oh you'll be that dued next time on the 100 - 500.... Brrrr. Brrrr.
You’re right about the Swarovski binoculars, hands-down, best binoculars I ever owned. I had a set of 10 by 40s that I took to a baseball game helping my paraplegic friend up and down the stands. I left them in the seat came back after helping my friend to the top, and they were gutted punch
Went to Alaska about 8 years ago and the longest lens i brought was 100 mm. Man was I under equipped! On a cruise once, my wife and I were eating omelettes on the pool deck . Woman steps over near our table, looks at us, and pukes. End of breakfast!
oh the classic taxi like story
Lmao. I asked how many people puked 🤣
Loved it.
@DANIELMILNOR505 I chuckled at your answer. How anyone can puke silently has to be some sort of superhero.
The different motion graphics you have for shifter are nice. Did you make those?
Nope. Kurt Gledhill all the way.....they are fantastic..I agree.
Are you planning to put together and share a slide show of your photos along with your bride's?
I will eventually make a film about the trip, but I will mostly show the work in relationship to the books I'm making.

I suck at landscapes unless there are people involved.

I'm going 180-600 but yes I WILL BE THERE. Birds be warned.

Why the switch to the Garmin watch?
Wife wanted the Vaer and I have new fitness goals that are being assisted by the Garmin.
