      @@TrickShiftGarage just finished and glad it wasnt so bad. Had to run new brake line. And found I have an axel seal leak but thanks for making a very straightforward tutorial!

      Glad you got it done! I had to replace my brake lines too. Videos on those will be coming in the next month or 2.

    Useful video - I found that needle nosed vice grips to hold the top of the two retaining springs helped a lot also the idea of using a wrench to replace springs worked. reinstalling the bottom was much more of a pain than the top but eventually got it done.

      Yea I'm learning a lot from these comments. It's gonna make it a lot easier to change the next time I have to do them.

    So, if your break cylinder blows, and you have to make it home, go ahead and get the spring/ parts kit because when I took my drum off, bits and pieces fell out. Appreciate this video. Otherwise I would have no clue where anything went!

    Can you replace the cylinder without removing all the shoe hardware?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад

      I highly doubt it. There is so much hardware in the way, I can't imagine you can remove it by itself. But I also never tried, so I'm not 100% certain.

      @@TrickShiftGarage believe it or not, you can actually do it. You'll have to take the spring off of the opposite side where that little cable is and then you can loosen the bolts in the back and you can work it out through the front

      If you do it, be sure to come back and let me know how it goes. I'm very interested in hearing about it.

      @@TrickShiftGarage I actually just finished doing it. The only other thing you have to do is remove the bleed nipple to get clearance to get it out.

      I have no idea. I haven't had an issue and it's been years now. Did you make sure everything is plugged back in?
