Zangief is the guy who works for a successful company, gives his all and works overtime for free, and then learns from the media that his company was actually a ponzi scheme all along.
>The film's production budget was ¥4 billion[6] ($35 million),[5] with Capcom alone financing most of the budget.[6] Because Capcom was co-financier of the film, every aspect of the production required their approval.
Zangief was such a good comic relief in this movie. He literally had some of the best lines throughout the movie: "Quick, change the channel!", "that was beautiful" , "you got paid?" and "bison is a bad guy?" I love those lines from him
I'm a big fan of Zangief, and i was so damn glad that he became a good guy at the very end. Great movie and ending how he and a dozen others pose themselves in the last second
1:21 "but i think the food court should be bigger. All the major food franchises will want in" Meanwhile, Burgerking still hanging out in Russia and suffering little to no competition. Bison may have been a villain, but he understood corporate greed very well! 😂
This movie was panned when it came out, but I loved it. Same with Double Dragon. Watching them now you see the camp and cheese seethe through, and can enjoy it for the ridiculous movies they are.
I'd rather have Brandon Lee portray Jimmy Lee, Johnny Cage, and Ken Masters than to see him play The Crow, he'd still be alive to star in those three roles that he was born to play.
@@toomanyaccounts For us, doing business with a brutal dictator would be the most heinous action of our lives. But for McDonald's, it would be Tuesday.
Funny part to all this. Is that Zangief truly believes the allied nations fighting to bring Tyranny, and Bisons and his troops are there to stop them lol.
i think only bison and zangif looks like the real life versions of their video game counterparts. the rest either looks nothing alike or just looks like cosplayers wannabes
Something tells me they confused the two black dudes with martial arts gear when writing this script Knowing how much of an intense production this movie went through, it might be feasible, if only they got more time to make it, but at the same time, more time being produced means Raul Julia would have died in the middle of it and they would have had to find someone else to play Bison and it wouldnt have been nearly as memorable..
Wow, when u pause at 9:09 where they all pose at the closing scene, man that took me way back to the 90s when i played the game itself. They captured it perfectly, it was like the characters came to life. Picture perfect.
The Good: · Chun Li Zang · Edmond Honda · General M. Bison · Gerard Balrog · Lieutenant Cammy White · Vega · Zangief The Bad: · Carlos "Charlie" Blanka · Dee Jay · Doctor Dhalsim · Kenneth "Ken" Masters · Ryu'ichi "Ryu" Hoshi · Sergeant Thunder Hawk · Viktor Sagat The "Meh": · Captain Sawada · Colonel William F. Guile
Yeah, I still don't understand the decision to make Balrog and Dee Jay be on the wrong sides, but that's not even in the Top 10 of weird changes to the lore
Zangief also had much more character development as an antihero in this movie than in the games. All he did in the games was have a one-track mind on both himself and his nation.
This movie has got to be the worst movie ever. Lol!!! I grew up playing the games and this is not what I had envisioned for the movie to be. Hope a studio can do a really good take on the movie now with all the technology we have available.
The Street Fighter movie that everybody was asking for in the early-90s: The protagonists being Ryu (played by Dean Cain) and Ken (played by Brandon Lee).
The biggest crime is that there wasn't more scenes with Bison and Zangief. Whenever those two are in a room; it seems to feed the zany maniacal energy of Bison that much more. This edit compilation is a masterpiece 😂
I felt the same way as a kid, during that time Mortal Kombat Annihilation came on TV, and then Batman & Robin came on next. But when I saw this Street Fighter movie on the Sci-Fi channel next, my 7-year-old self was angry at that they did to Ryu and Ken, still angry to this day.
Zangief is the guy who works for a successful company, gives his all and works overtime for free, and then learns from the media that his company was actually a ponzi scheme all along.
oof. lol
So he's sponge bob square 👖 😅
At least he's only an employee and not an investor.
nobody does that lol
They have the same mbti@@dyteriaswinson1718
Zangief is also Lattimer in the Football movie "The Program"
Just found out lile last week.😃👍
Yes and Thomas Hewitt from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003/2006"
Very low budget but funny

YOU…. GOT PAID???
Understimate character
"Quick, change the channel." Best line of the movie along with M.Bison's "It was Tuesday." line.
two fo the best lines in themovie
Wow. Me and my mate have been saying that line for years, not knowing/remembering what it was from.
Thanks!
lol
i remember that!!! almost died laughing
This line and DeeJay's face after this masterpiece are gold !
Zangief was perfect casting
BrianMcDonald. Actor Andrew Bryniarski played, Zangief in the 1994 " Street Fighter" film with Jean- Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia.
Sometimes I wonder if this version of Zangief isn't the basis of the "wait, you guys got paid ?" meme.
shame the actor never got paid either, he just loved zangief
Andrew Bryniarski?@@jonahblock

Cue Dee Jay's WTF reaction.
I swear I rewound that part many a time as a kid and he and Deejay's reaction had me crying laughing.
I soooo want that at the end of his super!!

The actor playing Zangief is probably polish, serbian, or russian himself

Didn’t Raul Julia accept this role for his kids? ❤
He did as something he could leave behind for them. Since they were fans of the game
LOL Deejay's look, every time Zangief says something lol.
This is a painful movie to watch from a Street Fighter lore standpoint, but you can tell the actors gave their all
Zangief is like Bob from Batman '89, he just leaves an impression.
Speaking of Batman '89, wasn't Zangief's actor the one who also played Charles 'Chip' Shreck in the sequel?
