1st off great video, now onto the real legend of this video is the owner of the airbnb. You can see he is a great man who cares about people. Nice to see
Love when good people meet other good people. In spite the minor language barrier, you can feel the respect between yourself and Eric. Looking forward to your next post; It's top of my list when entering YT atm. Be safe!
Great job ! I would advise to dip the new oil filter in the new oil before mounting it, it helps to get a more accurate oil level without having to start the engine with low oil level ! Wonder what that weird noise was in the tunnel ? Do you report any klinky noise on the kove or is it just the mic ? Have a good trip Gary !
Hi Jonathan, yeah the Kove sounds like a tractor sometimes depending where I locate the mic. It is also the most mechanical sounding bike ive owned while idling. Thanks for the tip!
Well done with the oil change Gary, glad to see everything going well.I do all my own oil changes, get great satisfaction out of doing maintenance..My bike has same filters and strainers as yours...Bike is a different brand but from the same country..
@@GarysJourneyYT Yep Gary the same as the bikes you mentioned so you shouldn,t have any trouble getting them along the way for future oil changes. I have CFmoto 800mt and love it,On my second rear tire now..
Nice update Gary - good to know the first oil change is behind you, bike sounds great cruising along and through tunnels. Hope you have many more encounters like with Eric on this fantastic adventure you’re doing, you’ll have a lifetime of memories before you know it.😊
Ability to change oil on the road is really useful. I do extended touring and always carry a spare oil filter, doesn’t take up much room and very little weight. I find carrying a small plastic funnel useful as well. I’d be looking to get that backpack strapped to the bike somewhere, the weight on your back has got to get tiring after hours in the saddle. Thanks for posting and best of luck 😁✌🏻
Hi Warren. Good call strapping the bike to the back, think I will do that for long rides. I have another oil filter but no funnel. The cap sticks out a little form the bike so wasn't too difficult during oil in thankfully.
Good service job and Eric's place looks a good find too. At 3:26 in the video it looks like there should be a second pinch bolt in the bottom of the lefthand fork? Hope you haven't lost one enroute and can easily replace it if needed. Ah I see now it's been reported already lol. Great trip and video's

You should have had 2 oil prefilters, one for each bolt you removed. Maybe you didn't check deep enough and you have both. Also pus as much oil as you need to reach the upper part of the red circle. 3 litres is about right.
Im also always tuning engine few times without starting it. Difficult to explaim how to make it. You can also put 2nd or 3rd gear and push bike to turn engine. You will see how many of old oil will go out. With that I always drain 1 L more old oil.
I laughed when the oil filter cap fell into the bucket with oil. Sorry mate but I always expect to do something like that myself and spend forever to do an oil change to avoid it. I'm looking forward to following you on your voyage and wish you all the best.
I’m always thinking that I want a long service oil change interval for when I’m on the road. This video helps cement that😂. Nice job. I’ll keep looking for long service interval bikes. I subscribed looks like the start of a nice adventure.
@ you’re totally right. However, just to set the record right I do the oil changes and valve clearances and stripped down the bike to the engine pretty much but my love for doing it in the field is low .😛 I look forward to your next video thanks a lot .
Thanks Glen! It would be helpful but I think ground clearance would be affected swell as extra weight. I do have a compact jack if I have issues. I will share in future video.
Would the man at the AirBnB mind if you put up his address? He's a top man, and if he doesn't mind an oil change at his place, us lads doing the TET on 10-25 hour oil changes would love to have a friendly place to oil change. I hope the family is not cut off and has electric after Storm Bert. The west of Ireland has taken a battering.
Have you thought about changing the rear spring? Most bikes are sprung for the average 80Kgs rider and not set up for all the weight hung out on the rear of the bike.
UK to Argentina with my bike is what I wanted todo,,,, but the cost of sending the bike blew me out the water... Now I toying with just going and sorting abike in Argentina..... I was in France in may and it hissed down
Bikes here are expensive! I think if you were to purchase one here you would probably be better of buying in Chile. Ill share the cost of things in Argentina in a future video
Interessante e chiaro ma un po' maldestro. Non si usano coltelli ma i giusti utensili....😊. Dopo quanti km hai sostituito l'olio e filtro, 6000? Il paracoppa non e' originale, di che marca e'?
That's the main advantage of an adventure bike. There's a lot of room for buckets under it. Even with a rear stand I need a flat pan to capture the oil from my SV650.

Have you thought about changing the rear spring? Most bikes are sprung for the average 80Kgs rider and not set up for all the weight hung out on the rear of the bike.
Most motorcycles are sprung for a rider and a pillion. A little luggage doesn't matter much.
They are set up for two, that's why they have preload adjustment, just up the preload for a pillion...
Hi Chris! It is sprung quite well for my gear and my weight! It's adjustable KYB suspension too.
I think that a central stand could come in handy.

careful tightening the oil filter cap bud, they only need about 8nm to strip
