Noticed a lot of people are buying a bunch of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant gold rookie cards from Groupon like it’s the end of the world for a deal of almost 40 bucks a pair… I don’t know what to make of it. I came on here wondering how I could see the differences in reprint and genuine cards. This video helped. Thanks.
Interesting video, good content, i would be interested in watching one where you explain how more complex cards like a topps chrome would be faked and what goes into producing a big hitting fake card. There must have being some crazy complex fakes produced over the years. James.
@@cajuncardboard Ah okay, i was just meaning as an example of the different types of fakes, i find it interesting in terms of how they are replicated etc. Just a thought.
I ticked every box but the NBA basketball lines on the back bottom right logo a very faint, but they are present. Is it possible for a reprint to tick every box as authentic? I will also add I bought it about 16 to 17 years ago. Were the reprints already at a high level in the mid 2000's? I live in Australia so it's near impossible to go and get an opinion and sticking it in the mail to get graded scares me lol
I got mine back in like 92 bro and I just found out mines fake and yeah it’s pretty good as far as quality .. but if you wanna know for sure, you’re gonna have to sit, put it in the mail and get it graded. Best of luck to you.
As many of you, I cannot afford a real one so I am just going to get the affordable decade of excellence card and call it a day. I aslo bought/sold at shows in the 1980s. I remember seeing boxes of 86 Fleer basketball on sellers' tables not selling as most were into collecting baseball.
Wow I think I got lucky and got an authentic one from a garage sale over a decade ago, along with a whole bunch of upper deck Jordan cards at a garage sale. I’ve left these in a box but now it’s in its own plastic case.
Yes, my Michael Jordan rookie card is fake and I’m not happy. I thought since I had purchased it back in 92 or something that it would be real be no problem, but I guess not
Well that's not the real card anyway. The real MJ RC card is stars 84-85 him catching a rebound. So a Rookie card 2years later?! Think about it. Look it up if you don't belive me.
It actually is the real rookie card. It’s his rookie card bc it was licensed, pack pulled and distributed nationally. Welcome to the hobby. The star pump is over so you can relax.

Interesting video my man
Thank you! I now realize mine is a fake, I reported it to ebay and they haven't done anything to the seller!
May i ask what made you think it was fake?

Except it's not. 84-85 stars basketball cards is the real RC
I got fleer cards from the actual 90s without any casing
Great job. I now have to go back and look at my MJ
Thank you!

Probably need to send the fleer MJ to psa and use the promo code CAJUN25 and get $25 off your order.
So everything else checks out but the "ghost" is faint. Its there just really faint... fake...?
Problem I have with grading cards is I'm afraid there gonna keep my original and send me back junk
