My wife and I has been watching car reviews, especially about HRV, for the past month. Of all the videos we've seen, yours is the BEST! Good job!! Keep up the good work!🔥🙌💯
I went from a 2018 Honda Civic EX to the HRV EX AWD because I need the extra space. When I take my mother her doctor appointments it is a lot easier for her to get in and out of, plus it is easy to fit her wheelchair in the trunk. It is a great suv, and with the way some people drive that collision mitigation braking system is a life saver.
Just purchased this vehicle and had a couple if questions that the salesman didnt cover but you did😊. Great comprehensive video packed with lots of useful info. Thanks!
I love your thorough review, we took a test drive yesterday & I loved driving it, tight control. I learned alot more about the car after watching your video, we already put deposit down on the Ex model. Thanks so much. 🤗
You're very thorough and detailed with this review, I love it! I recently got myself a 2020 HR-V "Touring" model in Canada and viewing your video gives me a good overview of the many features of this fabulous vehicle. Thanks so much for the effort in making it....
Likely this is going to be our first car there in america, Honda's the best when it comes to safety features, easy to understand not a whole lot of buttons going on, gas mileage friendly and sporty looking cars. I'm excited though. Thumbs up for your review 👍🏻
great review! I've been driving a Honda Fit for the last 12 years . amazing cargo space with 40+ MPG.... recently moved to the country with lots of dirt roads it is just too low to the ground and sometimes bottoms out.... HRV seems like a logical choice for me.....thanks for answering questions I had about it...
I've been given two different guidelines about HR-V 1.8 new vehicle break-in. The guy at the Honda dealer said, "just drive it normally". A technician for Toyota said, "Turn on the ECON mode, don't rev it up, don't set the cruise control, and drive it below 60 MPH, for the first 500 miles". I don't know wich is correct, but the Toyota guy makes more sense to me.
@@JustinFullerReviews, Thanks for your reply. If engine brake-in no longer applies, why did my 2021 HR-V EX get better gas mileage after the first 4 or 5 thousand miles?
Great video! I just bought a 2021 HRV EX last week. Love this car! It’s perfect for food deliveries or ridesharing. The reliable engine was the main selling point for me. It doesn’t have that crappy turbo engine that civics and Crvs come with now.
Very nice car i have one of this. The only problem is the AC its not that cold and the fan is too loud even on number 2 what more on number 3 and 4 Its annoying... on summer day the AC cant give the best cold you need.
Great video ! I leased a hrv a few months ago & wish I would have come across this video before doing so. It is the prefect fit for me but there are some features I don’t love. I have the ex model btw. Great video
@@lilclerk small things like blindside detectors on both sides ( not just one). automatic trunk opening/closing, not being able to unlock the car from the passenger door. very minor
If I had to pick something, I would say the road noise is a little loud. And like many of the reviews I wouldn't mind a little bit more power. Other than that it's a great compact SUV.
Hi Justin, I just bought an HRV EX 2020 and wanted to set up the automatic door lock. However, when we go to settings there is no "vechile" button. Have you heard anything about them removing that from the display?
Congrats on your new Honda! They are not particularly hard to clean, but if you're concerned maybe get a back seat cover. Honda makes a pretty nice one, but I'm sure there's aftermarket ones as well 😎👍
This car has a design flaw. I bought a 2021 HRV on March1, 2021 and noticed an irritating piercing whistling noise on my way home when I cracked open any front window or moonroof. I brought it back to Huntington Honda twice and they said they test drove 2 other new HRVs and they made the same horrible noise. So I'm basically told this is normal on all HRVs. I wonder if Honda has a design flaw or whether Huntington Honda is sitting on a bad batch?
One of the best reviews in general I've seen. Thanks for all the info provided for this car. I was already looking into by an HRV EX and now I definitely will be after watching this. I just have 1 question though, does this have the option to have a fob to start the engine outside of being in the car?
I dont like the self stopping feature ... I was in NYC and tried to go around a car in front of me and my car just stopped, my foot on the gas as Ive been doing for 25 years .....and it wasnt a firm stop but shaky and jumpy .... very scary .... yes same car Honda HR-V 2020

Hi there - great review for the HRV, which I am thinking of buying - during your video, you put up a link to another video for 6 things you didn't know about the "CRV" - is there anything similar for the HRV EX since we are looking at this type of car to purchase. Thank you.
I own both! The Fit driving position is more comfortable because it doesn't have that intrusive and useless center console. IMHO However, the ride and the engine noise in the Fit is something else to be desired?
@@dinchtfx The seat height can be adjusted manually. For some reason, the Fit seat bottom is wider and more comfortable than HR-V! I am 5'8" and felt cramped in the HR-V; but I am super comfortable in the Fit. The Fit ride is harsh on the road though. You need to test drive both to see which one is for you.
I purchased this car. Does it have an onboard navigation system or do I have to use the map app on my phone? I am actually looking for the compass. All my previous cars displayed NSEW on the dashboard or mirror. I want to know at a glance what direction I’m going even without using a map. Th HRV doesn’t seem to have this.
Carol, I also bought this car almost a month ago, but until now I'm still having a hard time connecting the navigation app from my android phone. Honda should have it built in.
Does the trim above the headlights match that smoky colored grill or are they two different colors. At the dealership I went to the grill was smoky and above the headlights was chrome. The emblem was also chrome. I just wanted to make sure it was normal and not some manufacturing issue. I’m specifically wondering about the EX (orange burst if that matters). Thank you!

Hi Austin! I am looking into buying this small SUV. My question is, how is the power going up hills on freeways? I am from Los Angeles and I drive outside of the city at times. Lot of hills to certain cities. Even San Diego and Las Vegas. Is this the right vehicle?
The engine in the HR-V is what the Civic previously used. So, you should not have any issues getting around in normal driving conditions, such as hills. You could always jump up to the Civic Hatch or CR-V, but both will cost more. Just some thoughts...
Watching this video I learned more from you about my new HR-V than the salesperson when I purchased it thank you!

The EX does offer Honda Lanewatch, which is a camera that allows you to view your blindspot.

More relaxing in honda fit?
So the HR-V is based off the Fit platform, so they are very similar.
