AWD is great if you drive in a lot of snow. But my mom bought the 2018 HRV new. She bought the 2wd version. She likes the 2wd version the best because she doesn't need AWD in Arkansas. It's a little cheaper, faster, less maintenance, and more fuel-efficient with 2wd also. Anyway, the car is 3 years old now and it's been great. She has had zero issues with it.
2:18 this is only for US and Canada. Other markets get the CH-R in different configurations: manual vs auto, petrol vs hybrid, FWD vs AWD. BTW, this 1.8 engine is allegedly from the 8th/9th generation Civic.
I had a GE8 Fit and loved that car. Best car I've owned for where I lived at the time (NYC). If this car had a 2.5 NA, I would really consider it but the new design language is buttcheeks.
Well said regarding awd on suvs. I just go t a new hrv myself, coming from a Toyota 86, loved that car but lost it in an accident. I really wanted the chr very much but the no awd was a dealbreaker for me which brought me to hrv. Fun little crossover, sure it lacks power but its more than adequate unless you plan to do some serious off roading.
Really good review of this car! I’ve had mine for almost 6 years now and it’s been solid! I laughed at the part about the HVAC controls, they do have a little bit of a funny feel. Anyway, a few things I’ll add. Get something a little bit higher than the base LX trim. It has most everything you need, but I don’t like having only 1 intermittent wiper speed! Even my old K-Car had more speeds! Also the wind buffeting with the windows down in this car is pretty bad, but I think that’s a lot of cars nowadays. Also, when you buy one, stock up on rear wiper blades at your local Honda shop! They’re almost impossible to find elsewhere! Other than that, those VERY MINOR things, the car has been a pleasure to own and I plan on keeping it for a long time! And also FYI you can change the color rings on the speedometer.
That MPG gague should have been a temperature gague. How would you tell if your car is overheating without looking at the hood if you don't have a temperature gague?
I like this HR-V Sport in Aegean Blue Metallic in FWD, sincecI live in Honolulu, HI, so it's cheaper, faster and less maintenance blas commented. The 2022 Sport had even nicer black wheels. But the new HR-V Sport came out, and I plan on getting a FWD Urban Grey Pearl Sport, but I wouldn't mine javing bith of these. This one looks nice, too, and to practical and useful rithnyhe Magic Seats. But they should have put the N/A 3.0L engine in the Sport here. I also like the smoked chrome grille.
One of loudest engines ever. CHR is more refined, better handling, better suspension set up. Hrv has a very dated interior, old infotainment and overpriced in the segment. It's also a 2006 R18 civic engine. Wait for the all new 2022. It will make this look like mince meat.
The R18 is a great and proven engine. Also, the engine is not loud unless you floor it. That can be said about any engine. The HRV is faster and much more practical than the CHR.
@@moeanthony9308 It's not loud at all. My sister has one. CHR is not practical and it looks goofy as hell. Anyway, there is an all-new Honda HRV now. I think I like the old one better though. And it took you a whole year to reply? 🤔

Good to know
It can actually change colors. You have to put the key in and then press the button at the top of the dashboard and change the color. You’re welcome.

Got the LX a few months ago and love it. Glad it's not a higher level.
I put my color ring to purple
What do you think of the cvt transmission?
sorta liked the exterior when I see them driving by...
Any old mazda's in the near future?
I love the HRV!

Pretty sure it has a warning light if it overheats.

Wow, this is helpful!
In my country this is called the vezel and the vezel hybrid has 160hp and a 7spd dct
Are you in Quebec? Because in the begining of your video it says you are in Joliette
Joliet Illinois
Yes can't you hear the Québécois accent?

Yeah who want's something older but reliable and ironed out. Be the beta tester of an unproven engine with your wallet.
@@hawkermustang Hell naw. Yea that HRV is louder than a Russian tank. Chr bets this by a mile

@@hawkermustangAgree. Not loud at all, at least not noticeable to me. No complaints about the HR-V LX!
