I love this game's style, they went above and beyond for this one. It's so refreshing to see a victim just immediately get revenge in a game too. She's employee of the year, I swear. Cleaning after death takes true dedication.

Spoilers, but this is what the story seems to be:
Assumin we the played are an *actual person*, Pom was hired to work at the hotel by the cult. After a certain amount of time, they lured her up to the suite to kill her to use her in a ritual. Her spirit ends up trapped in the hotel by the ritual.
They hire "us," the player character, to take her place, but she doesn't realize she is dead, so when we come to work (we can see her) she thinks that she needs to train us. (Or, she subconsciously knows that she is dead and knows that the cult will try to kill us too, but consciously just thinks she should tag along.)
If this is the scenario, then it's likely the shadows at the vending machines were the cultists watching us to try to grab us, or maybe even just people that aren't in the cult looking to see whats going on- only to see someone staring at a vending machine that is violently jerking around.
Shadows in the rooms could be other people who were tricked and killed.
When we get to the penthouse, it's possible that they try to grab us- only for Pom to remember what they did to her, causing her to lose it. From there, she chases down and kills the cultists, which either revives her (she has color back in her skin, though not her clothes) or allows her to move on. Presumably, the difference in ending is that if we prioritize the tasks, it reminds her of her humanity. If we bee-line to the penthouse, she doesn't get reminded of this, and wakes up something else... or becomes it.
If the player character isn't a living human, then it's likely we are something that isn't quite a ghost, sent to assist her in getting to the point of moving on. In this scenario, *not* prioritizing her tasks makes the penthouse more damaging, resulting in her haunting the hotel forever.
So at point was Pom killed if she’s already a spirit?

But in all seriousness, a very small percentage of our vision actually picks up fine details, the rest of it is only good at picking up motion and colors. The creeping guy has a pallet that fits into the background (he's not bright yellow or anything) and he's moving slow enough that Manly's peripherals wouldn't have picked it up either. Our eyes aren't as good as we'd like to think they are, our brains are really good at filling in the blanks as best they can, but that doesn't stop us from having some pretty god awful blindspots (I recommend looking up blindspot illusions if you're unfamiliar with this, it's really weird but cool)
The viewer has the benefit from being able to view any part of the screen at a given time, the player... Ehhh, not so much lol.
Tl;dr: our eyes aren't as good as we'd like to think

Are you talking about when you first enter the mirror? I slowed the video down and paused it when it glitched out and what I saw doesn't look pornographic in the slightest. I'm seeing a black and white version of the character with possibly one black eye with a red pupil. I paused right at 4:01 after trying to catch it just a that the right moment.
I think the manager was a child just by the way she acts and what her tasks are. Putting away crayons and drawings, wiping a mirror clean with her hands, collecting items and calling them toys, her idle chatter in the elevator also gives it away since it's similar to kids chat (i.e.. scary hotdog claymation, saying "specific" instead of "pacific" ocean, feathers and bird leaves). I dunno, it's a subtle detail that I don't know what it suggests asides that she is a child or she is pure or naive?

Manly was expecting it to be a bit old school, and then they hit him with the Fallout 1 style game.
This game has a lot of really subtle scares that are easy to miss, like 11:39 did you see the shadow in the hallway slowly coming closer? You're too focused in the minigame itself to really pay attention to your surroundings which makes scares like these so much more effective
As someone who used to work as Night Auditor literally until the end of last year I feel slightly called out. The front doors opening and closing in the middle of the night was just a normal thing by the way. We welcome (most) all guest; alive or not.
I work at a convenience store that recently moved to a new location, but at the old location the doors would do that daily. We joked there was a "store ghost" and would sometimes argue about whether it was a boy or girl and what they'd wanna be called.
Pom really prides herself on doing everything with a smile.

Also , despite what some people think , cats are not "a-holes" ( at least not all the time ) Like any creature , they are rarely jerks for no reason / no apparent reason. Dogs can be moody or annoying or weird , attack you , ect. and yet I always see online comments being negative about cats but not dogs. Also they can be very needy. Some even act more like needy whiny dogs that wanna eat all the time or what ever than cats. Just like any creature / species , cats are very diverse both in personality and breed.

I really love how Manly was so focused on the tasks, like a good player should be, that he never really noticed the shadow figures disapearing when he enters the rooms, or another shadow silhouetter appearing around the corner whenever he was doing his task on every vending machine.

Started watching you when you did Yomawari. You're much more interesting than most of the mainstream players imo. You do what I do and inspect/explore every inch of the map. Haha. I hate it when people just ignore easter eggs, secrets, etc.
I've been in his channel for a couple of years now and it doesn't matter how much time I go away, I always come back to him. Manly is lile the person a want toet someday! His gameplays are funny and just... singular. Also, he brings a lot of games that I like and find interesting. Also, his theories in the end of the videos, reading the comments...

Funny you mention that. I realized I always make my female protagonists very evasive, hard and serious. So for bete grise i tried to make a character that was loveable, a little naive/klutzy, but very dedicated. Waifu material if the player is into girls, and bff material if they're not.

Omg @5:42 you can see a siluet of a man just staying in the corner. I really wanna play back and see if all are like that.
Edit: after rewatching from the begining, i can confirm that the manly siluete is indeed present, you can even see how they creep up when the MC shakes the vending machines.
aside from the obvious shadow at the vending machine and the creepy kids drawings, the reflection glitches out at 4:01 and the lettering on the poster at 7:12 fades to spell out "I AM GOD"

This kinda reminds me of that cursed game like, you had to push specific elevator buttons to go to another dimension, a women was found dead after doing that if i recall, maybe it's refering to that?
@@TrainsTer-91 ooh, I hadn't heard that one in a while! You had to use an elevator with a minimum number of floors, then enter them in a certain order and the doors would open on a .5 dimension. Then you had to do the numbers exactly backwards to get back. There were several creepypastas on it 😄
