i love how the only "horror" is visuals, because that makes it a little less bombarding and cliched, having the scary imagery while you are just completeing task makes you feel like something is gonna get you, or kill you, but nope, its just disturbing imagery in a game about setting up a party.

Maybe this is just how their world works? Its just a normal thing that giant eyes appear and watch you, and that a basement leads to a hellish/surreal world with spaghetti and eyeball walls.
So what there is no danger or jump scares?

Honestly, as a horror/Blue Clues hybrid, it's surprisingly charming! A lot of parody games can sometimes end up being wayyyy too crude to the originals, but there's decent amount of old and new that it feels really engaging. Reminds me of those old Blue Clues games I used to play as well as other kid's point and click games. They really don't make them like this anymore. Overall, a very wholesome game! You can tell the creator put a lot of love into it and that's something a homage to this genre of kid's media really needs.
This one even feels like a halloween special, I can see the red eyes at the end being in an actual episode

I love this. I was expecting it to go all psychological horror and "hyper realistic blood" half way through, but instead I got a surreal comedy with a spooky atmosphere.

Eh, dimensional pantries usually bore into easily accessible dimensions. If it wasn't hell it would've just as easily been xen or the shadow realm. Really having a portal to hell in your basement is small price to pay for unlimited storage space.
Oh my god, that compression on the voice is like... spot on. I used to have a Blue’s Clues game as a kid, and sounded pretty much just like this one.

the compression wasn't super noticeable from what I remember but yeah

If it were just pictures or art I could see it, but by the era of FMV, the compression was definitely down from what was here. Still very much there and noticeable, but not as crushed as this was. That said, that's a minor nitpick and I'm not gonna hold it against the game or anything, but it definitely took me a sec to adjust to the combined elements from different eras of these games (the crushed-to-hell vocals, the decently smooth fmv, the fact that due to it being a newer engine meant some things that are vector-based look crisp (text, certain shapes of ui elements))
I really like this! The horror elements are completely unexplained, and from the start the world is a little weird--so you're preparing for something awful to happen, like a jumpscare or a dead body or something, but the basic plot is played completely straight and that's just really fun! It feels like a parody with a lot of genuine love and fun put into it, instead of something made to be scary or shock you

I love when the texture stays in place as the perspective changes, same thing happens in the show chowder and it makes me happy!
this was a masterpiece. im not sure which part I love more. watching the dog slowly slide off the couch or the background objects coloring moving about.
I actually really like that animation style. A more 'artistic' representation of the style can be found in the Gankutsuo: The Count of Monte Cristo anime.

I love how the player character acknowledges _only_ the Peat Moss weirdness, everything else is just treated as perfectly normal.
Like he actually seems worried and a little afraid of Peat Moss, because it's a shady character giving you something and telling you not to question it.
But everything else? Not even a tinge of worry.

I think Earl from Earl's Day Off being one of the guests was the best plot twist and surprise.
You know what scratch that, the fact that all of the guests were from TorpleDook's previous games is great.
Already couple seconds in and Im already interested in this. Dont see FMV games, let alone a horror FMV often these days. And a Blue's Clues parody!

that's cause FMV games require you to be good at acting, unless your intentionally going for cheese
Some other examples I can think of at the top of my head are At Dead of Night and The Bunker.
You might like Contradiction. I think it's by the same people as At Dead of Night and one of the actors might be the same. Please be warned that the detective's antics should not be used as a benchmark for those of a typical brit. Also for some reason you have various regional accents in one tiny village

As someone who grew up watching Blue's Clues, loves FMV games and is continuously being impressed by TorpleDook's work, I genuinely love this. We're two games into the Dread X Collection 3 and I'm pretty confident this will be one of if not my favorite from it. Manly's absolutely right, we need more of this.
