  • There's a reason I've been so picky about the exact spec of trailer that I wanted and there aren't many out there that fit what I need. So when a viewer sent me a link to this one and it appeared to be the right spec's, I took a chance on it and won it in an online government auction.

    That is cool - you were able to find the missing piece of equipment that you need to do the jobs that you want to do, and this one actually does fit all of the requirements that you've set forth. Even better is that it has the "Rusty Approved" seal of approval - he looked like he was having fun hopping up on it and checking it out for you! You did kind of skip over one area - does the belly area have big enough storage for your binders? I know that was kind of an issue with some of the other trailers you'd shown us.

    • @wesman7837
      @wesman7837 Год назад +10

      The binders and chains go on the headache rack on the truck. See where the chains are hanging in the thumbnail, and the cutouts below?

    • @duanebuck193
      @duanebuck193 Год назад +4

      Which brings forth his point of being able to use it with "any" truck if his breaks. We've already seen him short of tools because all of them were in the Rollback. Most of the rigs I've seen have had a second set in the bed containers for this reason - covering their bases since a borrowed or rental truck may not have the chains, binders, etc either with it or of the type required for the jobs he does.

I am not a truck driver, but I do travel a lot and I am always curious about the rigs I see on the highway. Watching your videos and those of them wrecker companies up in BC fascinate me. Good for you Casey. I pulled a scissor neck for awhile lowbedding but it was strictly mechanical. The tractor needed to have a winch to lift the neck up and down. It worked well until the hinge pins seized up one time with a D-6 blade on the gooseneck. Apparently the grease wasn't getting completely into the pins. I see you have nice outriggers there and lots of D-ring tiedowns too. I hope this gives you good service.

    Is there any purpose with the trucks wheel base being so huge?

    All it needs is paint to match when you do your "thing" in a month. Very cool

    Congrats Casey! It's always exciting to get a new (to me) piece of equipment.

    This is almost just like the goose necks we used in the army, except they were not powered. We just dropped them off the back of the trucks to lie them down flat. We had to winch them back up to the truck, yours is much easier. Very cool.

    U spent a little more for what you needed in value.
    Still way cheaper than brand new!

    Thats a nice trailer, are you planning to make it look a bit more loved? I know its a work implement but would look awesome with some new decking and a lick of paint

    How much would one of those trailers cost when new?
    I'm just curious, if a 30 year old one still costs that much I'm curious as to how much they cost when new. 😅
    Nice buy, lets hope it doesn't give you any headaches. 👍

      If I were to order this trailer today, it would be about $120k, and a one year wait to get it.
