That little dog is a natural trucker. Wait till she's old enough to get her licence and you'll have a co-driver. Can't wait for that video.
How do you know she doesn't currently share non-video driving ❓
I went truck Driving to get away from the Lady of the house. Sure would not like another one in the Truck.
@@anthony1636 Are you worried she would not stop for a bathroom break?
I think there’s only 3 RUclips channels I religiously follow and never miss and you are one of them Dan. Always look forward to your posts. Been involved in haulage all my life and enjoy seeing the way you do things that side of the pond 👍
I’ve got 4! Dan, Schmidt, JBG travels and camping with Steve
This comment from the Mayor, should be redeemable for a shirt.😎👀👍
@@adambrunt7290 Totally agree plus one more Wee Yorkshire trucking an English man out of Washington state. Stay safe
Yep. Dan and Bailey..... Schmidt and Opie are the only 2 trucker channels I watch. 🐶😎🚛👍
After living in Phoenix for 32 years, thanks for showing the drive down the Salt River Canyon. I was steering with you. -Scorpio
Dorsey Trailers are Clearly Rock Solid.. Save your Money and Buy the Best and Forget the Rest. 👍
Dan, you always pick the right music to go along with the beautiful scenery in your videos.
Bailey is the Wonder Dog and the only thing she is missing is a Cape. She is a Beautiful dog. 👍
The Salt River feeds Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, and Saguaro lakes. Horseshoe and Bartlett lakes are also on the salt system. It eventually ends at the Gila River. I love driving through and living in Arizona! We live in a beautiful State👍great video Dan!
The sound of the engine brake! I love it!
Great video! Salt River Canyon is absolutely beautiful! I've entered it from the other side in 2017 and was stunned by its beauty 😊
My wife and I and our dogs have driven all over the west and enjoyed every inch of it Dan. But you manage to find places we did not look at closely. Thanks....
Ohhhhh that Jake! 🥰 nothin beats an old Cat Jake!
Big Dan, I love your channel and watch it religiously, you are a true professional truck driver which is rare on today's roads . That being said, being a life native Arizonan I can't let it slide. The Salt river flows south not north and more importantly Native American culture is a huge part of Arizona history. It's Hopi with a long O.
The scenery in that canyon is amazing! 👌
1:50
That guitar, man I will drive to that anyday!
Best tarp roller in the West.
In the 70s, Yellow freight use to run their trucks to Albuquerque through the canyon everyday. No jakes, all winter, pulling doubles. I don't think they do anymore.
Some have asked….it was the Dilkon Medical Center where he delivered. 122 million$, 160,000 square feet..level 3 emergency room, nice to see this built. Finished next year.
It must be nice to go home to Arizona and be surrounded by almost nothing after trucking in chaos for weeks.
Reed Flake hauls cattle through the canyon quite a bit!👍🇺🇸✌️!!
Every time I see Bailey, my just heart melts
That Bailey dog 🐶 is 💯👌
HOPI is HO Pee Salt river drains into the Gila River that drains into the Colorado River Used to tube on the Salt River was a BLAST!!
Fantastic video Dan. My wife and I appreciate all the effort you go through to entertain us.
Baily the wonder dog! lol Cool to have your pal on the road with you. She is a bright one that is for sure and amenable to the life out there. :-)
you need a tee shirt with Bailey on it! love that puppy
Man did that guy pull and fold your tarps for you what a place.
Sorry Dan the Salt River does not go to the Grand Canyon that is the Colorado River. The Salt River is the main river from the east into the Phoenix metro area, the Gila river comes in from the south and the Salt combines with the Agua Fria River from the north and the Gila River, to become the Gila River that continues out of the metro area towards Gila Bend. It joins into the Colorado River near Yuma.
Gila starts in New Mexico and across AZ east to west. Santa Cruz comes from Nogales thru Tucson and links up with Gila River near casa grande.
Absolutely beautiful.
When I was a rookie trucker in 1994 I drove a long wheel base cab over Freightliner. I hauled lumber from Red Bluff,Ca to various customers in Phoenix,AZ. Then I would go thru the Salt River Canyon up to Show Low,AZ to get lumber going back to Red Bluff,CA. Did 2 turns a week for over a year.
Thanks for the ride Dan👍🏿
Hey Dan. Great video of a challenging drive. Absolutely stunning scenery. Thanks and stay safe.
Hopi - Ho-Pee. 😎👍🏻 I love driving through the Salt River Canyon, the whole area is beautiful. I used to pick up copper at the mines east of Phoenix and deliver it in Amarillo, TX. It's been about 15 years since I've been in that part of the world.
Good video. Have a safe trip. 👍🏻
1960/ 1958 Chevy/ 16 years old.y grandfather put me behind the wheel and sent us down that canyon. I remember is a little store at the bottom. Driver Ed quick.
Runs into Roosevelt Lake then on down to Phx. It starts when the whiteriver meets the black River out of the white mountains.
Enjoyed the ride Dan !
Jezzz Dan looks at the paper and Bailey looks at it too, incredible dog!
I enjoyed the trip through Salt River Canyon. I like all your videos you put out. Keep up the great work.
Hey Dan. Love your channel. You show lots of stuff that we can learn from you. Love your editing skills with the footage and the music. Carlos watching all the way from Melbourne Australia

The Salt River Canyon is beautiful. Been there!
It would be so nice to one day get to visit that area, just beautiful there
If you have not traveled around the western part of the US you definitely should sometime. I have been through nearly 40 states in my nearly 6 years of fulltime driving.
I would defiantly plan a road trip out west. You won’t regret it.
Love your videos, beautiful country
Bailey looks like she rides in the truck well
Thanks for some great scenery , Cheers !
I did some plumbing work in Dilcon when I lived in flag. My dad was raised in Holbrook.
Nice trip for my first coffee of thw day. Thanks for sharing. 🤗
Yeah baby that’s next to you is adorable how are you doing Dan
That has to stink being that close to home and not getting to see the Mrs. The pencil pushers in Arizona sure need to take a look at improving that road to 4 lanes. Thanks for the video, Dan and Bailey.
I got my licence in '76 and boy do I remember some Dinosaur trucks.
Still miss it though, great way to spend a life.
I know that truck stop, grew up putting a lot money in the machines in the game room back in the late 70's early 80's. I don't know if you went inside but my brother and sister in law own the Tribal Gifts store in there. Good to see a bit of home.
Hi Bailey. You were right it was a sad story. Thanks for the share.
RodeoReed who has a Blog shows coming down the Slat River Canyon all the time. He has a home In Snowflake and another ranch near Apache Junction. He is a part time redeo announcer and truckdriver. What were they building up on the Rez? Looked like a hospital
This is a Beautiful looking part of the Country. Very Sad 🙏 about the deadly crash you discussed.
Great video Dan be safe 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Every thing looking great Dan Bailey sure dosen't miss much "aye" stay safe Dan "RB" Albury " downunder"
Dilkon is actually on the Navajo Rez. Awesome video!
FYI - Ho-pee not pie. (3rd gen Flagstaff native here)
I have run the Salt River Canyon maybe a half dozen times grossing 80 grand , It is one hell of a grade.
Definitely need to be on your toes.
I think it’s more dangerous than Wolf Creek pass
Back in the seventies when I first started driving had a truck with no jake brake and have to travel mountain roads out west and I mean to tell you that was some nerve-wracking stuff
Love that Arizona scenery
Roll on September 🌵
Keep up the good work and safe travels
🌵🇬🇧👍
Safe travels Dan
Beautiful scenery...looks like my trip today, Amarillo to Albuquerque up to Farmington to Cortez.
The sound track for this one is just so perfect, and beautiful. You have got it going on, Mr. Dan, when it comes to your music choices.
We can see Bailey is keeping you in check. She is a cute little dog. You, Bailey, the Pete and Dorsey stay safe out there.
I went north loaded heavy out of the mines once. 12:49 I had to stop had brakes smoking. 4th gear with Jake’s on the whole time
Really enjoyed the video . I have been following your U-tube for about 7 months now an have almost gotten through them all an will keep following you !! Very good content!!! I really like the live stream answers an questions. If you do another one could you show a explain the head ache rack an your likes an dislikes of the different kinds for all the storage space needed. They must be quite important for your profession an staying so organized!! Thanks again !! .
Absolutely beautiful ride. Thanks Dan
My friend Dilkon, Arizona is on the Navajo Reservation south of the Hopi Reservation. I love you and I appreciate you. Stay safe in all your travels.
You're on the Navajo reservation. Hopi is north of there about 15 miles.
Back in the day I had to haul copper. I took the same route. I enjoyed going through there. Great video!! God bless be careful and see you next time.
Good choice of music
Nice one Dan.
Excellent video.
haul lumber out of White River ,AZ to Phx AZ 79K up and down salt river to Show Lo , AZ used that rout a lot
That was a awesome vid. Thanks Dan Keep It Safe
nice video Dan loving the off sider very cute stay safe out there cheers
Beautiful scenery goes perfectly with the music 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Just spotted you on my last check before turning in. I've been watching your older videos like I said. Don't remember what number I left, but I have it saved. I do about 10 or so though the day. Only remember you buying your new cab, but you still have the old trailer. Oh ya I saw that car cut you off too. You had pipe that broke your 4x4's. Yes glad you went and put that in. Great .
A slow climb up and a hard down
Some nice scenery down through there and there's always one vehicle that has to try and take the hood off on every hill. Ever thought of having top of hood painted flat black to cut the glare down?
Awesome thanks dan.
The lift axle should be able to provide a little more braking force if needed.
Hey Dan, You should've went up 191 ( Devils' Hwy ) LOL. I know it's not fit for trucks. When I was in Phoenix one of our favorite Motorcycle rides was going east to Morenci then up 191 to Springerville then catch 60 to Show Low into the Salt river canyon to Globe. Staying on 60 then heading back to Phoenix. made for around a 600 mi. day. depending where in the valley home was.
Man I miss AZ riding.
You just added to my bucket list. I've crossed the Salt River many times on US 60, did not know there was another place to cross it.
Pretty "wow" scenery. Couldn't imagine driving that through snow. That would be pretty "wow" pucker factor.
Dan thanks for the rice for the country enjoyed it very much love seeing Bailey up in the front seat looks like she’s having a good time. See you later be safe
Cupla' good dogs.
Buen Camino
I remember you running that road on the 379's last run. Glad to see the old gal running that road again.
Lovely trip through the mountains 👍🏻 Bailey is so cute ☺️
Wonderful landscape filming on this one with some cracking soundtrack as well. Thank you.
Bailey is the cutest! I love her name...but I think "Dorsey" would've been an appropriate choice of name for her... 😁
Love the salt river have been through it many times I have family in Lakeside Az
I was thinking the same thing Dan, he just had to show you that they were pissed that they had to follow a truck.. LMAO gotta love em!!
The last time on that road was 1988 in a cabover :) Safe trip
I was out in Arizona back in 2010 and stayed in Holbrook for a week. I worked on the Navajo Rez while out there. It was the only time i have been to Arizona but i absolutely loved it, such beautiful country. Loved the trip through the Salt River Canyon. Oh, and it,s Hope-ee. You and Bailey, safe travels.
Luv those Cat engine brakes. Thanks for rolling the window down.
Been thru there a hand full of times 80k it works the truck for sure.
That video was amazing! I have a dream to go out west when I retire and from the looks of things I will be amazed. Thanks Dan & Bailey
Thanks for the beautiful ride. Tarp job doesn’t look bad. Always enjoy your videos Dan. Blessings
Great to see Bailey has settled in to the routine of the trips in the truck . That scenery at the Indian Reservation reminded me of those areas around Shiprock and Farmington New Mexico. Take care Dan and Happy trails.
Thanks for the video Dan. Beautiful country that I probably wouldn’t get to see if you hadn’t shared it. Be safe.
