It's unlikely, as the south Africans are almost a year older. Because of the different school years and rugby seasons.
This tournament comes at the of the South Africans U18 season, after Craven week. To qualify they had to be under 18 on the 1st of January 2024.
For the European teams this is a pre-season event. The season officially starts on the 1st September when the school year starts and they have to be under 18 on that date. At this age giving almost a year of age away across the entire team is usually too big a mountain to climb.
But then, their target for the season is winning the Six Nations u18's tournament in March April.
More conveyer belt of talented prospects coming through for Ireland. Superb display by them. They look incredibly fit & abrasive and the backs with some nice clean lines & offloads. Love to see it! 🇮🇪☘️💪🏻
