    Best 4K HDR Monitor PERIOD - INNOCN 32M2V 32” Mini LED Review
    today I’m reviewing the brightest 4K monitor I’ve ever seen, and the good news is not only is it bright, but this monitor has a lot of surprises up its sleeves that I think will make it a very attractive option to those looking for a solid 32” 4K HDR monitor.
    The monitor I'm reviewing today is the INNOCN 32M2V a 144Hz, IPS, 32”, 16:9, Mini LED gaming monitor with 138 pixels per inch, a reported response time of 1ms, gsync and freesync compatibility, an HDR 1000 rating, and 99% DCI P3 coverage

    I ended up returning 3 monitors due to different quality issues. The haloing effect was bad and inconsistent, which made HDR unusable outside of games. Even watching videos was distracting if subtitles were on, and UI elements just look weird.
    It's bright, and the color gamut coverage is really good. However all the other issues (OSD menu, design, viewing angles, panel uniformity, and blemishes under the panel) made this a no buy even at $600.

  • @Xiuhtec
    @Xiuhtec Год назад +36

    I picked this up about 3 weeks ago and am really loving it. It's my first experience with 4K, >60Hz refresh, and HDR, so I can't compare to other monitors on any of those grounds but it really does seem to do a great job at all of them, and I chose it because it was one of the few non-curved non-ultrawide 30-35" reasonably priced options with enough dimming zones to be considered "real" HDR.
    I have only two real complaints: 1) It is very slow to initialize out of sleep or boot, so Windows detects my second monitor for several seconds before this one wakes up, making it shift windows around before it realizes this monitor is present. Fairly minor but it can cause odd problems with scaling after wake, until I move the window back and forth or restart the programs. More a Windows problem than the monitor's, but the monitor's lag time in waking is the root cause. 2) Fairly slow grey-to-grey pixel response; even if the specs say 1ms it seems to have closer to 6ms response. This doesn't bother me at all (I came from a 6ms response monitor anyway), and the overall latency is great as mentioned in this review so it doesn't hurt FPS gameplay, only causes potential ghosting/smearing with fast moving scenes. This is something I'm not very sensitive to but if you are you may want to look elsewhere.

    You should really test the response time across the refresh rate. The problem with all other 32" 4k miniled displays out there, the ones that sell for more than 2 or 3 thousand dollars, isn't their response time at max refresh, but when the framerate drops below 120 FPS. Even with a 4090 you will drop below 120hz or when you're emulating at 60hz you want your response time to be tack sharp as well, so this is a really important stat.
    As it stands this review made me interested in this monitor but I will have to wait for someone to post sub 120hz results before taking the plunge.

    • @chiefjudge8456
      @chiefjudge8456 Год назад +2

    • @hugevibez
      @hugevibez Год назад +8

      @@chiefjudge8456 You are wrong in every way, I'm talking about 30ms or more for a pixel refresh when FALD is engaged at lower refresh rates on the PG32UQ for example. It makes sense then, if you can't see that, that a faster display won't make your gameplay better since you have a worse perception than a digital camera from 1996 💀
      Kidding aside, pixel response time is important for not only FPS games, and obviously a fast display won't improve your skills if you're not at the skill cap. The thing that's important is that the instant pixel response times providing perfect clarity when moving around. Without that, for example, pixel art games will never look right.
      IMO any sample and hold display does not provide enough motion clarity without interpolation techniques, not even OLED. Sure you don't see the difference between a 7ms and 5ms response as long as it's below the refresh window, but you clearly see the difference between a CRT with an instant pixel response time and any other display technology.
      You're clearly too young to have enjoyed a CRT at >92Hz, but everything will just feel slow and sluggish in comparison. Hell, a 360Hz fast IPS or 240Hz OLED look like a smeary mess compared to even a 60Hz CRT.

    Just purchased this monitor. My takeaway is to use hdmi 2.1 rather than display port 1.4 as i noticed frame pacing issues with display port as it only can do 32 Gbps whereas hdmi 2.1 can do 48 Gbps. Overall I was blown away by the local dimming. i watched some youtube videos with dark scenes (Joaquin Joker scene with Robert Deniro) and it had some ghosting so its preference to you to turn it off. Overall gaming is fantastic. I came from a 240hz corsair non-oled panel and there is the slightest amount of smearing on GtG but honestly im pretty picky on that stuff. I am very satisfied with my purchase and got it for $600 on a lightning deal. Oh and no joke, it is super bright!

    I'll share my experience with the 27 inch 4k 60hz model as I used your review in conjunction with others to make the purchase. It's a fantastic monitor, well built and the brightness levels even with Standard high definition is incredible. Add the local dimming zone feature with some small backlight contrast tweaks and the monitor shines and shows inky blacks which makes using the monitor for movies or gaming a joy. I also have an OLED portable monitor in which to compare and the versatility of this monitor with it's IPS sharpness puts it in a place that makes it clearly suitable as a primary desktop monitor.
    I have a M1 Max which also has a Micro LCD screen and side by side, the Innonc holds it's own. With this new tech as a cousin of OLED, I won't be going back to standard LCD displays again. The contrast levels, brightness and so forth is the next step in desktop monitors and getting my foot in the door for 500 dollars on sale through Amazon was a purchasing decision that turned out to be a smart move. A leap of faith that produced excellent results.
    Again, for anyone looking to get this monitor, it's very well built and even if it's exterior design is somewhat eccentric, you don't see any of that when it's on the desk. The way the monitor swivels, goes up and down is butter smooth. Some may not like the exposed cabling on the bottom but it's a small sacrifice easily made for what it is as a whole.

    I like my 27m2v, but i really miss 25/50 or 75hz mode, many youtube videos are i 25/50hz. And if switching between sources it reverts to original settings which is annoying, and also if switching HDR on/off. That must be an bug. But it is really great despite these quirks. I have not had any better.

    The panel is relatively slow and prone to ghosting. Innocn uses the same panel as the one found in the 32UQX, which is known for its less than stellar pixel response time. While the mini LEDs are indeed dimmer (compared to 32UQX), they are also likely less reliable due to the significantly lower price point. Additionally, their warranty policy is rather unclear and unconventional, with only a one-year warranty period if I'm not mistaken.
