  • @ianfitchett2768
    @ianfitchett2768 Год назад +4

    You said HDR is not good but you didn't really explain why at all and I'm a bit confused. Even if it's not hitting 1000 nits (which you never measured?), How is a monitor that can maintain full screen 650 nits (your only actual measurement) and has 384 zones FALD with 99% DCI-P color range a bad HDR experience? Those numbers are all really good for HDR IPS panels, especially in this range.
    You literally praised the monitor for every individual aspect that is responsible for making HDR good: no backlight bleed, good black levels, fantastic color range, high contrast ratio and high peak brightness. But then said the HDR was bad and refused to elaborate further. That makes no sense.
    This is my first time watching one of your reviews, only because I could not find reviews by rtings or monitors unboxed or Linus. I'm just generally really underwhelmed with how much of your review is just me taking your word for everything rather than actually measuring things. There's very little objectiveness to your reviews. Like you say the response time isn't great but you don't measure it. Response time isn't something you can just eyeball. Like I don't doubt that this monitor has bad response time but why would I take your word for it when you don't measure it?

    • @hypeuprise7026
      @hypeuprise7026 Год назад

      Why care so much about HDR? It's just a gimmick at best. Also response time really not important for a monitor like this. You don't speedrun editing photos/videos etc

On Mac you can controll the brightness using the quick controls on the keyboard which is nice and i was not expecting that to work. The monitor is fantastic and i would recommend it for a Windows User, but Mac users may want to take caution, Using the monitor at 1440p on Mac provided a good experience which is far superior to the Apple Cinema Display i was using previously. I am planning on removing the matte screen protector on the display since that may make the image a bit sharper and hopefully improve the color accuracy a bit more as the texture can make a difference in some cases.

      I've been asking around and this response is late, but I buying this due to the high percent of argb and dci-p3 for such a low cost.

    Would've been better if it was black but 32" is still too big for a monitor.

    Perfect review! As for the HDR, I could care less about that. For the rare times that I do need it, I use MadVR which is far superior to any device's built-in HDR processing. If you don't use it already, @Type-C Tech Reviews, I cannot recommend it enough. It is incredible that amount of detail and tuning you can wring out of your source material to take it to the next level.

    exc review, is flicker free in local on and off?

      According to the Notebookcheck, it flickers all the time, at high level though. When I first started to use the monitor, I got occasional headaches but now my head has gotten used to it.

      @@armen1136 No, my understanding is that it flickers all the time. Also the manufacturer does not say that it would be flicker free, just that it has blue-light reduction options available.

    Whoa, 650 nits is really bright -- brighter than the apple studio display. Does it have any bloom? (I don't see a lot of it in the video but I'm still curious). It would be so cool if they could get the refresh rate to 90hz or higher as it would make it much more competitive with the high end oleds in terms of refresh but would beat it in terms of text clarity.

      Viewed straight on there's no perceivable blooming. Looks like an OLED without the micro contrast.

      There is definitely bloom in certain scenarios like a bunch of tiny and small things on screen with black background and the white youtube media player buttons against black. Most of the time it is subtle or none.
