    jst to say, really awesome vid. How long did you practice to plan cross +1 in inspection easily? also how much did u practice this in a day?

    • @joelhibbert4113
      @joelhibbert4113  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks very much! 😁When I learnt Cross+1, I had to do dedicated practice where I'd literally scramble the cube with the intention to plan Cross+1 and then I'd give myself as long as I needed to find the best +1 case.
      In a single day, I used to practice cubing for upwards of 8 hours, but a lot has changed for me since then and I now barely cube for a single hour some weeks.
      Hope this helps! 😄

    • @arafatshah4973
      @arafatshah4973 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@joelhibbert4113 thanks for breaking it down. But how long did it take to see results of ur practice in an actual solve? and did u deliberately plan cross +1 every single solve during the practice period

    • @joelhibbert4113
      @joelhibbert4113  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@arafatshah4973 Because of the way that I practiced, I began to see results almost right away. I'd spent as much time as I needed to pre inspect my cube, and then I'd just solve it as per normal. But because I had taken as long as I needed to get the Cross+1, my solve was that much faster because of it.

    When you plan your first pair do you always force it to be solved into the back or is it ok for it to be solved into the front?
    Also, is the goal to find the best possible first pair during inspection or simply finding one is enough?

    • @joelhibbert4113
      @joelhibbert4113  7 месяцев назад +2

      When I plan out my first pair, I generally will try to solve it into the back, if that's practical. It doesn't HAVE to always go into the back slot though, and if you plan it for the front right slot and then do a y' rotation immediately afterwards, that gives you a back right slot solved.
      As for the question about finding the best possible pair, no you don't HAVE to find the best possible pair - sometimes that's super difficult to do, especially if you have an 8 mover cross. So just finding one to start off with is definitely better than nothing!
      All the best with your practicing, if you have any more questions, feel free to drop a comment and I'll reply as soon as I'm able 😁

      you can pretty much enter whenever u want. i got nats this weekend and im averaging abt 18ish but my first comp i averaged around 30ish so your at a good point id reckon

    • @joelhibbert4113
      @joelhibbert4113  9 месяцев назад +2

      Whenever you want man! As @Nat0_ pointed out, it can be whenever you're wanting to go. Competitions are about fun first, comp second, so if you're in it to win it, don't go until you're fast enough for a podium, but if you just want to go to have a blast, meet some new cubers and actually get your results recorded officially, then go for it! 😄
