    I have always loved this parable, and took it’s meaning of the talents are my salvation, and that in the Master’s absence, it was my duty to multiply the salvation of my soul, to as many other souls along with mine as I can. This does not just mean converting others to the faith, but most times to encouraging those who maybe were losing heart from difficulties, or recovering those who have lost their way to the ills of the world. Every soul is precious.

      That's a Way of saying it ...parables of the talents are "my" salvation... Nice you're right too as a parable is of my faith then it must also represent salvation.
      We are to "establish our faith" by walking in the Way in and of Jesus. This doctrine of Jesus Christ called The Way, is what Jesus taught that we are to walk in his Way by repenting of sin or anger unto the acknowledging of Truth then in that truth is found a witness in the gospel and in that truth the love of God the Father is revealed as the Way you can choose to submit to, Abide in and become transformed to become One. One in love, one with love all because walking in the Way of repentance to also learn truth in Jesus that transforms us to know the knowledge we perish for the lack of... Knowledge of God's Righteousness and the knowledge of God's Love. That love is real even as the truth that reveals it is real.
      Faith to believe is born .. Jesus said, noman knoweth the Son but the Father. And noman knoweth the Father but the Son AND those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. By his love faith lives in the heart. We each have a measure of faith to find 5, 2 or 1 part. The knowledge of faith is our proven reason for belief. PROVEN!!! Did you not repent and find the truth and the gospel witnesses of the truth

      The best way to begin using your gifts to glorify God is to identify which talents you enjoy using, and which ones you would like to invest time in. Consider things that are easy for you, whether that is a sport, an artform, a subject in school, or a social skill. Some good questions to help you identify your talent are:
      1. What do you like to do in your free time?
      2. What spiritual gifts do you possess?
      You may be able to identify a variety of skills that come naturally to you, or there may be one that you are looking to hone in on.
      🧎‍♂️🙏🏻 Dear Lord, thank you for creating @Kimberly with different gifts. Help her to see your craftmanship in her strengths.
      God please give her guidance in the best way to glorify You with her talents. I pray that through her strengths, others would be able to see You and know that she is Yours. Please open her eyes to opportunities to use her gifts to spread the Gospel. Thank you, again, for giving her these abilities.
      I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, my only Savior, amen.

    Psalm 19:The Perfect Revelation of the Lord 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
    The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
    9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold;
    Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
    And in keeping them there is great reward.
    12 Who can understand his errors?
    Cleanse me from secret faults. 13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me.
    Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
    Titus 2:Trained by Saving Grace 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

      Biblical salvation is not needed by anyone alive today. Romans 5:13- "Where there is no (Old Covenant) law, sin is not taken into account."
      This of course means that salvation was only needed by those who had sin taken into account, which was only the ancient Israelites cursed with the Old Covenant law of sin and death, which is no one alive today.
      Also, Hebrews 9:15 is clear…”Redemption was only for those who sinned under the first covenant”, which again… is not us today.

    Listening to a radio program about philanthropic giving, the moderator had invited a clergyman to the panel. He said something I found quite surprising. "More than any other subject, Jesus talked about money."
    I wondered how he could make such a statement. The parable of the talents came to mind. Also, when Jesus held up a coin and said. "Whose image and inscription is this?" Neither discussion is actually about money.
    A talent is actually twenty years' wages at a denarius per day. Jesus didn’t have that kind of money. What did he have of value? He left his deciples and their listeners a valuable message about the Kingdom of God. He trained the twelve and the seventy how to approach people in their homes and on the street to talk to others about a new administration, a new government that would change the fabric of society.
    Every person who comes to know of this arrangement is expected to "do business" with that valuable information, joining in sharing that information with others.
    Jesus' most common subject is the Kingdom, over which he eventually would become King.
    Do you want to really understand what this Kingdom is? It is not merely a pleasurable reward for good behavior. Find the most-translated website on the web and look for "What Is the Kingdom?"

      He went way off base with this. This is one of the most misinterpreted scriptures ever. There’s at least five or more active explanations for it. You are saved by grace, and nothing could take that away. To basically sum this up to make it easy to understand is that you could be saved, yet completely bankrupt in heaven. Read 1 Corinthians chapter 3. You will see that an unproductive serving of the Lord, still gets into heaven, but by the skin of his teeth. Another way to look at the parable of the talents, is that he was talking directly to the Jewish leaders as well. Another summary would be to be faithful and productive in the Lord, so that way when we return with him in the millennial reign, we will be awarded high positions of responsibility.

    • @pietro4772
      @pietro4772 Год назад +6

      The parable is not necessarily limited to financial profit. The gift you may receive from God could be the ability to speak 5 languages. What have you done with those 5 languages? How have they profited the Kingdom of God? Have you witnessed to people who speak different languages? Have you steered them toward the Lord Jesus Christ? Has your gift brought anyone to seeking salvation?
      Numerous other examples. The 5 Talents could be a long life rather than money. Have you used those years productively serving God or wasted the years worshipping the self?
      That's what I draw from the parable.

      You have to remember there’s no expectations being put on the servants for if they accumulate or lose the talents. The talents given are based off of the servants ability…..it’s also worth mentioning that reading the two parables before this also helps to understand it better. Ultimately this parable commends faithful work and prudent planning. The first two, not knowing how much time they had went with vigor to multiply their master’s money trading and investing….according to their ability. Now the unfaithful servant attempts to deflect judgment when he says he was paralyzed with terror bc of the master’s character and reputation. Classic blame shifting and an ungodly slander against the actual kindness of the master. None of the allegations were true and even if they had been it would be a bad excuse for inactivity. Bc if the master was really as bad as the servants said he was then the absolute worst thing he could have done was bury the money where it was guaranteed to make nothing. So truthfully if that was what he was thinking he could have just put the money in a bank and at least made interest off of it. The biggest problem was the faithless servants own wickedness. He lacked both fear and respect for his master

Its hard to believe but how else could it make sense? Everything about Jesus's life was as planned and those who opposed him were punished in spite of it being part of the plan.

    Incorrect. The parable is regarding the miraculous Grace of the Fruits of the Spirit.
    We begin at the time of justification/salvation with 'firstfruits', so to speak, of the Gal. 5:22-23 nine Fruits.
    God prunes them (Jn. 15:2) by stressing them to the breaking point.
    If we fall in a heap of failure at the foot of the Cross and upon the Rock, we become candidates for an increase of a particular Fruit, even their instantaneously-given fullness.
    All the above by Grace, so that "no flesh shall glory in His Presence."
    While I explain in greater detail in X, suffice it to say that even if given the fullness of the supernatural/holy/agape' Fruit of Love, for example, we must still allow ourselves to be perfected in it by getting out of and staying out of its, Love's, Way.

    Excellent word by brother Sproul. The only part I question is the implication that one who's a believer will be sent to hell, meaning they will lose their salvation. There is a dispensational punishment for the unprofitable servants of the Lord which is the loss of the kingdom reward which will cause the weeping and gnashing of teeth, extreme regret. But I don't believe this is hell because I believe in eternal salvation.

    This is the best summation I have to date.
    FROM Michael Bradley
    (with THANKS to Ron Schofield)
    THE BIBLE IS THE STORY of Yahweh's fulfilled plan of redemption given exclusively to ancient Israelites cursed with the Old Covenant law of sin and death and pertains to no one alive today, soteriologically and eschatologically speaking. Here's more...
    IF YOU BELIEVE THE BIBLE, then you'd have to agree with Jesus in Matthew 15:24, that he only came for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
    YOU'D HAVE TO AGREE with Jesus in Matthew 5:18, that no jot nor tittle of the (Old Covenant) law would pass away until the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with (what Jews referred to as "heaven and earth") passed away.
    YOU'D HAVE TO AGREE with history, that the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with it passed away in AD 70.
    YOU'D HAVE TO AGREE with Paul, who said in Romans 5:13, "Where there is no (Old Covenant) law, sin is not taken into account." This of course means that salvation was only needed by those who had sin taken into account, which is not us today.
    YOU'D ALSO HAVE TO AGREE with Hebrews 9:15, that redemption was only for those who sinned under the first covenant, which again...is not us today.
    THE BITTER PILL OF TRUTH is that nobody has been saved nor redeemed for nearly two thousand years. The "church today" has been in a massive error; a complete hijacking of ancient Israel's exclusive and fulfilled plan of redemption, the Bible.
    "BUT...BUT...I'M A GENTILE!" Are you? The gentiles Paul and the disciples were preaching to were either Greek converts to Judaism or the elect diaspora, grafted-in descendants of the tribes of Israel who had been dispersed among the nations. Through the ministry of the disciple's great commission, they were called out from the nations to again be a holy nation of kings and priests, to be sealed for the day of redemption, which only they lived to see. Nobody today is a gentile of that sort.
    TODAY'S SELF-APPOINTED, SELF-PROFESSING "Christians" have been hoodwinked into believing they're sinners under a law that passed away, and need a savior who said he came for someone else, who will save them from a sin that's already been removed and a judgement that already happened and allow them into a covenant that was made with someone else. The fact is, we today have never been and are not part of ancient Israel's exclusive and fulfilled redemptive narrative, the Bible. ~Michael Bradley

    The LORD's Prayer: Premise; The LORD is Jesus. The LORD's Prayer is Jesus's prayer to His Heavenly Father. The Prayer begins: Our ... O U R Father, who are't in Heaven ... . If the LORD's prayer is Jesus's prayer to His Father, shouldn't the beginning go something like: My ... M Y Father, who are't in Heaven?
    If we run with "Our Father, who are't in Heaven ..." then who are the other LORDS? And, is it the LORD's (possessive) Prayer or the LORDs (plural) Prayer? Can the LORD be also praying on behalf of its slaves the "Christians"?
    I am also looking at Adam and Jesus. Adam was a physical Son of God.
    Jesus was the spiritual Son of God in the flesh.
    If man are related to Adam, then, by extension, we are also sons and daughters of God?
    Add in Jesus being a Son of God, does this, also by extension, mean we are the Sons and Daughters of Jesus who is the Spiritual Son of God? If so, how does Jesus become our LORD and we His SLAVES? Where did we dump our relationship to the family of God?

How could the Bible say a believer possesses eternal life and that no one, even the believer, can remove him from the Father’s hand. Weeping indicates it will not be pleasant, but while the faithful are in the Lord’s joy, the slothful will be severely disciplined so as to relearn their lesson for a period of time. As believers we can be secure in our eternal salvation according to the New Testament promises.

    RC believed in infant baptism for salvation and doubted his own salvation in one video at the end of his life -- so much for the doctrine of election. Really, avoid the tedium of the seminary and download the audio bible to your phone or electronic device or computer and listen to the Bible every day. Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ. R.C. did not believe that infant baptism saves, he believed it was a sign of the covenant of being in the visible church. That child is still responsible to repent and place their faith in Christ. That is what we as Presbyterians believe. Sir I suggest you actually find out what R.C. actually believed before making such a foolish statement lest you be found bearing false witness. And if we don't need clergy, then why did the Apostle Paul command those in the various churches he wrote to to ordain elders in every city? Why is it that pastors and teachers are specifically listed among those in the church? Why is it that the Bible tells us to obey those who watch over you? You are very out of line with Scripture here, so I would say you are the one who needs to go back and read your Bible

You fail to teach the independent believer's dependence and life in the Holy Spirit. I have listened to the Reformed teachers and they all make the congregant dependent upon them as the last word in bible interpretation. Teachers and elders are not appointed today like Paul instructed to do. The reformation is 500 years old and full of dead men's bones. Find life in the daily work of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1 :6 and 8.
