Wow, I'm seriously crying. After a long ass day of self doubt I woke up today and my whole mindset changed. I feel like today I was given so many signs and to end my night even better I came across your video. I needed this. I needed to hear that anything is possible. I'm a young boricua from the bronx, ny and sometimes I feel like it's so hard to make dreams come true when you're from the "hood." This makes me so happy! I'm Dominican and I just landed a job at a big hospital. I'm the only Dominican/latina in my department so it makes me so happy to see other Dominicans/latinos leading the charge in their industries and bringing our stories and ourselves into spaces where there are, unfortunately, not many of us. I'm so happy you guys started Pero Like at BuzzFeed!

Ugh. This was %1000 what I needed to hear. I recently got a bit discouraged that goals and dreams weren’t happening. This was exactly what I needed to boost my motivation to keep going. O-M-GOSH! I’m experiencing the SAME THING, NOW! I’m so happy that I came across this video! And WE FROM THE SAME CITY! 🙌🏾 I was let nearly two months ago and to be completely transparent... I knew that I should’ve left [8] months before that. However, I stayed because I was fearful of possibly not having a steady paycheck and failing miserably at trying to establish a career. In a situation like this, my default position would be to quickly find another job to fill in the income gap. After having experienced “dime-a-dozen-jobs” (or jobs that you can get very easily) and staying only to get comfortable and to have vibrancy of my spirit and soul dulled for procrastinating in embracing my destiny, I’m more motivated than EVER to have the career I truly desire! I’m now putting my degree to use and making a difference in the lives of the next generation! Thank you Julissa, for this! This is the confirmation that I needed! 😬😘

I usually never comment on videos but here goes nothing... I have nothing to say other than this is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! I have worked so hard all my life to be able to study in the U.S. and I'm finally fulfilling that dream! Little 8 year old me would've been proud. All it takes is believing in yourself and HARD WORK. You'll end up where you're supposed to. If not, it wasn't meant for you and it actually was a blessing in disguise. Thanks Julissa for reminding me of that.
