joaquin didnt say a single word haha and when the girl tried to hand him the microphone he just looked away, what the fuck was he doing. love that dude.
Joaquin hates explaining his or the movies work. Daniel Day Lewis has said before that there is something wonderful about the mystery of what these guys do. Let's please keep it that way. I respect Joaquin a lot.
In fairness, Day Lewis even laughs about the fact that he doesn't want or need to speak about his films. He feels all that stuff is guff. What he does isn't that important. It's only a movie at the end of the day and although the people involved work very hard to make it, like all great art, movies are useless.
@@garbohydrates193 He may not, no. Just because he learns the role and excels in it, it does not follow that he understands the director's full intentions. PTA is starting to look like one of his heroes, Robert Altman. Another great movie from the greatest modern Hollywood film maker. I am alone, so far, in thinking this may be his best film to date.
Happy to see Jena Malone play in a PT Anderson movie for the 1st time. With her hair dyed red she portrays Hope Harlingen. She's gonna be awesome in it because of her talent as an actress, so i'm looking forward to seeing this movie.
Two of America's greatest writers (Anderson and Newsom) collaborating in some capacity...I can't decide if the pros of her working with him outweigh the cons of delaying her next album lol
Man, I could listen to Paul Thomas Anderson talk about film forever but these things can be so difficult to watch. The long silences and stuff between questions with the actors and stuff just looking around at one another are so awkward.
Joanna at around 22 minutes in looks and sounds as when she started playing the harp in public around 2004-2006. How bizarre this whole experience must have been.
Nabil leal Fashion comes and goes, and sometimes comes around again. I grew up in the 90s and I like stuff from the 90s. It's a matter of taste, something you get to understand as you grow older. There's more 90s influence in today's fashion and pop culture than you may realize.

What's so odd to me is how these actors who are in front of people ALL the time can be so awkward. I know some of them only do film/TV but to some extent public speaking is part of their jobs. Mya Rudolph is great because she's used to SNL. PTA is always a good interviewee. And the more I see Michael K. Williams interviewed, the more I like him.
It shouldn't be strange. They get on stage or in front of a camera pretending to be someone else!! It's no wonder they seem shy or awkward when presenting themselves.

Amazing book, amazing movie & cast. Pynchon conspiracy theory: Mickey Wolfmann bad guy likely based on Roland Arnall real estate grifter in 1970’s Orange County & nationally in the 2000’s. I couldn't disagree more, I love it, but then again I have read some Pyhcon before and I recognize it, you get me? Not only do I think this will become my fav PTA film, I think it's also the most subversive he has made. I could go into why, but all people seem interested in at this early stage is that the film is confusing..it isn't, because the film is not about 'the plot'.
