is this guy the most charismatic guy on earth? I think so. He's so charming and present in interviews. I love watching him on screen, too, wonderful actor; he has that difficult to define movie star mega watt radiance that simply makes you wanna watch him.

This is such a good film, and he holds his own with Jaoquin. Their scenes together are brilliant. PTA is a genius for directing Josh as Bigfoot.

It seems like Joaquin is a truly collaborative artist and it would be great working with him.

Old Boy was actually better than I expected. I think if there wasn't the original to compare it to it would have been considered a better film.

As far as American "remakes" of great World Cinema/foreign language films, I've never really understood the hate that the Spike Lee OLDBOY gets. It could have easily been much worse. It isn't great and OF COURSE watch the original Park Chan Wook film along with everything he's done, especially the criminally underrated THIRST, but I can't help but think that if the American movie was the only one and not a lesser remake as most are, then alot of people would be boasting it as a hidden gem. Then again I have only seen it once, it just wasn't nearly as disappointing as I expected.

I was most interested in the idea in 'Inherent Vice' that police departments would hire assassins. I had never thought of that. Unnerving possibilities in that concept.

i think they did do this, the rest of the stuff is mostly true, like COINTELPRO and what the other commenter said. A lot of it seems to parallel whats going on with the war on drugs and the government at large today and I doubt its an accident. Theres a Marc Maron interview where paul is talking about “bleeding edge” which relates to the internet and 9/11 and paul says “he knows things we dont, Im convinced of it”

Original Oldboy written and directed by park Chan Wook is fucking amazing!

Brolin was the only bright spot in this exceedingly stupid film. OK, I gotta give kudos to the cinematographer - that aspect of the film was first rate. Overall, INHERENT VICE was self-indulgent B/S. Why was this movie made? It wasn't 'released' it escaped!
