Ken Shimura provided an excellent lecture on this topic about 10 years ago on his TV show. You will realize that the Japanese have their own version of British-style, ironic/sarcastic humor. british person here. not sure if someone else has answered your question, but yes as a rule we are concerned with where the fruit has come from where its been grown and if it has pesticides on it but we dont trust the company or its marketers to be honest so they are more subtle. the packaging will have pics of idyllic farms or orchards and the text will be something like freshly squeezed to give the impression it left the farm and became juice immediately. the packaging will also have colours natural to the fruit, orange for orange and so on or some shade of green to make you think of fields and farms rather than factories. when we buy the fresh fruit and veg it tends to say somewhere on the packaging where its from but it will be simple text like location: brazil. so we know its travelled a long way that particular food is out of season or not grown in country. or it will say something more detailed like selected from box farm apple orchard. so we know it came from mostly one orchard and they probably want us to think it was handpicked because they used the word selected giving it a more humble small business vibe than a huge conglomerate one.
this difference is probably, and yes im not an expert in japanese culture so feel free to correct me on these assumptions, to do with culture. in britain we have a distrust towards the big companies. if they are smaller we know the person, we know who they are and how they operate its more like a community where we all help each other. however we dont feel that connection with big companies. they tend to make their workers feel like they are just another cog in the wheel and are replaceable and like we are not respected or valued despite our work being the reason they are around and making money hence no trust. plus they only care about profit and the consumer has to kind of suck it up because there arent any other options in their area and they dont really hide this fact. however trust and honour are at least at face value still very important in japanese culture and most companies at least act more respectful to their customers. the big companies also seem more honour bound to their word than western ones where it just sounds like lip service as they dont tend to follow through. plus japanese traditionally is a more descriptive/poetic language so these things have probably combined to the poetic way you describe your fruit and veg compared to our more subtle sneaky way in the marketing.

Japan is famous for Engrish but as a German, I've laughed and felt a bit ashamed (well, not personally but for them, we have a word for it in German) about numerous German Denglish product and marketing terms. The amount of (often bad) English by media has increased a lot over the last decade or so. The funniest was a major fashion label releasing the "body bag" not knowing what it actually means in English. Japanese is also very different from English.
I think there are different versions of Engrish. The total random stuff, things that are supposed to sound poetic/dramatic and also puns such as the famous ancient meme Michaelsoft Binbows or the Jindiana Jones one here. And of course just bad translations due to language difference. The relationship between English pronunciation and English spelling is almost non-existant unless you know into how English developed over many centuries.
Anyways, we should not take these things too seriously and have fun with cross cultural miscommunication and humerous banter between nations. I find Engrish rather endearing.

The mother was a prosperous lawyer and the father was a medical doctor. All the problems they had were small compared to the situations that a poor family in New York would be facing.
Critics praised the scripts for showing good parenting skills. Several years after the show ended, Bill Cosby was arrested for a repeated pattern of sexually molesting teenage females.

Japan loves tresuring their cultural heritage, which includes age-old producers and craftsmen, quite alot. Abit too much sometimes if you ask me since it can be so fucking expensive, as I hear depending on where it comes from in Japan, to buy even basics at times.

You shouldn't be embarrassed. I loved it while I lived in Tokyo. I once bought my daughter a tshirt that said "Read Old Newspaper". She still has it.

Don't be embarrassed 🙂 english can be a strange language sometimes and is easy to mistranslate.

My first time visiting japan I saw a hair salon that was named 'Hair make lovely' I thought it was absolutely amazing. It made sense but was also humorous in its delivery. I can't remember the location. I think it may have been niiza-shi in the saitama prefecture but I'm not 100% sure.

I had this lovely English menu in a small restaurant and they managed to misspell the same word.... in three different variations! It was brilliant.
I wonder if they went "Well, one of them has to be correct, right?"

What irritates me is the times when the Japanese think of letters of the Roman alphabet as abstract art designs instead of the building blocks for words.
Each letter has a sound or two attached to it. As an English speaker, when I see letters of the Roman alphabet, I automatically think of the sounds connected to the letters.
Letters of the alphabet are not abstract art. They are symbols for sounds made by the mouth.

I love the way you reacted at @4:19. The way you repeated the expression nodding your head, pouted your lips, and made the "uhhmm" sound. That's so Japanese.

My favourite from my time living in a Japan was a shaving razor in a hotel that said, 'Hello. I want to be close to you. You will never be alone. I am here. For you.' I didn't shave that day.
