nice job sir, I've done a few divers and serviced a few watches so know how hard the hands are and glad to be your 18 subscriber good luck for the future mate.
Andy UK.
Thanks Andy, really appreciate the support!
is "seiko" written at the dial in the description ?
it is :)
Excellent build. Everything was well explained. Thank you.
Thanks, hope it was helpful!
This is the exact video i needed, thank you so much! Really helpful and detailed, couldn’t be any better. A hundred thumbs up. Also I was looking to build this exact watch could you please tell me where you got your parts. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you! Really appreciate the positive feedback and glad I was able to help! The parts for this one were from Aliexpress
@@jbwatchmodsYes, ive been looking on Aliexpress but there is so many different options. From which shop did you get the dial, case and bracelet. Thank you
Algorithm done it's job fr
Great vid, couldn’t help noticing you lost your finger condoms half way through the build…
Thanks! Yeah, I took them off and forgot to put them back on :)
I have a crown that does not fit into the case because of the rubber, do you have a reference for crowns that could fit into my 40mm case please? 22:45
The stem of the watch and deliver with it? I'm talking about this rod at this moment 18:10
Pardon my ignorance, but I thought the numbers we use in English are Arabic numbers. Have I been lied to my whole life?
I haven no idea what your referring to, but English numerals are certainly different to arabic numerals
What kind of quality is the case and metal bracelet? is it like some metal painted plastic or actual metal that has weight to it and not some cheap low weight plastic that break instantly
The case and bracelet is good quality, made from real steel. No plastic used
do you need the tools to make them? I want to build this piece for myself but don’t want to waste money on all these tools I will use once.
Yeah definitely need the tools, makes it a lot easier
I tried and press down the hands and then turn the dial but this didn’t work. Could it be that I pressed the hands down too hard? Any tips or things I missed out on?
I mean the hands didnt want to rotate whatsoever
Check that you have clearance between the dial and the hands. Im also assuming that you have the crown pulled out to the correct position to rotate the hands
Mine stops randomly can I make it going non stop or is my watch broken?
It may be the hands hitting on something. I would take it out and double check the hand clearences
Hi! On the ali link the dial doesn't say Seiko it is normal? thx!
As long as it says "with logo" or "s dial" it should come with the seiko logo
can a 35mm dial fit in a nh35 movement?
Absolutely! you just need the right size case to fit the dial
The stem of the watch and deliver with it? I'm talking about this rod at this moment 18:10
Hi, great build.
which Case Back Tool adaptor size did you use to open/close the 36mm datejust clone case?
thanks..... I don't want to buy the full set.
keep sharing creation plese ;-) !!!!
Thanks! Its fitting no. 5, it does most casebacks and i rarely need to change it
Ok, thanks, 29.50 correct?
@@fabriziocatalano483 Yep!
Anyone bought tools of Temu? It is very cheap and looks good but not sure
Hey if u remove the cyclops its better before to remove the glas from the gasket from the heat destroys the gasket
Hey, Thanks! Ill definitely keep that in mind for the next one
You have put a lot of vinger oil and death skincells in that movement. Wear the vinger condoms all the way until your watch is ready. Other than that very useful video.
Yeah fair point. Thanks!
are these watches water resistant?
Yeah, this one is water resistant to 100m!
Hey!
I want to build a 40mm watch. The nh35 movement is moving inside the case because of to much space, but the dial fits perfect. Is there any solution to make a better fit for the nh35?
Sorry for my Bad english and thank you :-)
Hi, it sounds like you need a movement spacer, some cases need a spacer so the movement fits firm in the case. Or you have possibly ordered the wrong case!
Do you mean a Rolex replica?
hey, I have a question: I prefer bigger watches and I only find dials of the size of 28.5mm. which size of dial do i have to use when I use the same case as you but the 40mm version.
Thank you for your effort and work to answer everyone. Thank you in advance
In most cases the 28.5mm dial fits in the 40mm case. It will say in the description if it doesn't. The parts I have linked use the 28.5mm dial for both size cases :)
Awesome video, does the dial come with the seiko lettering on the top? Do they just not show it in aliexpress for copywrite?
thats correct. just make sure it says "with logo" or "s dial" in the listing description
What about parts for 40mm? Same style and everything
All the same parts, just different size case! Dial size remains the same
Hey great video - i have a question: the aliexpress Arabic dials don’t show the Seiko name on them on the pictures - you do get the ones sent with the Seiko name on them right? Thanks!
Thanks! If it says "s dial" or "with logo" in the listing it should come with the seiko logo
How have you found the quality of the metal bracelets? I spent $80 on a AP nautalis case and bracelet, Case feels and looks great bracelet feels some what jagged. Do you find the same thing on the other ones?
Same thing to be honest. Quality is pretty good overall but you can get some jagged edges for sure, especially on the clasp, but nothing a little file couldn't take care of.
Will I need a spacer if I choose the 40mm case with the same movement? Also great video
You won't need a spacer with the parts ive linked, however some cases will require a spacer
Awesome content brother! Very detailed, keep with the good stuff, I'll be watching all of them, so in the future I can build my own watches!!
Thanks mate, I appreciate it! Glad you find the videos helpful
In the Ali Link for the Dials there is no SEIKO Brand. But when i buy it is the SEIKO Branding included or do i have to ask especially for them at the buyer after purchase?
In the listing you purchase from make sure it says with logo or S logo
The parts are very expensive 😢
How is the movement retained into the case? Is there a retaining ring?
This one is a friction fit into the case. The case back holds it securely in place aswell
the crown fucking broke while putting it out man. 40€ for nothing
Thats bad luck! Unfortunately its apart of the learning curve, you can expect to break a few parts along the way
will a 28.5mm dial diameter fit a 39mm oyster/datejust case?
If its for an nh35 movement it should fit. But always best to check the case specs
Great video, but I got a problem, I can’t rotate my hands. But the watch works. Do you maybe know what that happens?
Thanks! Did you use loctight on the crown stem? Sounds like the crown might be loose on the stem
Do you know where I can get a real seiko movement? Or is the one in the description real{?
SII and TMI are the movements you will find on Aliexpress. These are subsidiaries of Seiko, the same movements
Nice video mate, was wondering where did you get the crown from? Is it separate or does it come with the movement
Cheers! The crown actually comes with the case, and the crown stem comes with the movement
Great video!Could you do a tutorial of how to make seiko mod ( submariner type of rolex or gmt).Sorry for my english.Thank you, you are doing excellent job
Thank you! Yep, its on the list!
Does a 28,8mm Dial fit in a 40mm „case“? Or only 36mm
Same dial will fit both cases for this build!
good job and very nice video bro. so a question to make things clear. the NH34,35,36 movements , fit both 36 and 40 diameter cases? how is it posible?
Thanks, yes thats correct. Some cases use a spacer so the movement will fit. Other cases are just designed in a way that the movement and dial dimensions are the same, but they make the rest of the case slightly larger
is ali express a good place to buy parts for building a first watch
there is definitely a lot of rubbish on aliexpress, but there are also very good quality parts for sure!
Hello, did you put the seiko logo on or was it already on the dial? If you did, where did you buy that from? Thanks
Links in the description to parts used. I purchased the dial with the logo on it
My hands wont move do u have any idea why it could be?
Can be a variety of reasons. Check the hands are clear and aren't fouling on anything first!
How’s the quality of the movement? Does it lose time?
The movements are great, standard seiko specs are -20/+40 seconds per day for the nh35. These movements are usually well within those tolerances
Hi, how do u change the time of the watch after you build it?
You unscrew the crown from the case and pull it out to change the time
Do u have any experience with the same case but 40mm. People are saying the proportions are very bad and I bought myself a 40mm case since I have relatively big wrist
I also bought 28.5mm dial in A 40mm case and people say that will look horrible but I have already bought and was wondering if you have any tips
This video is me using the same case, but in 40mm with a 28.5mm dial - ruclips.net/video/gNJPN6rrEIA/видео.html
Might be handy for you to see the proportions.
It really depends on the supplier of the case, some cases look great in 40mm, some look rather average
Where do you buy the dial with the logo ?
Links in the description
Hey!
I want to build a 40mm watch. The nh35 movement is moving inside the case because of to much space, but the dial fits perfect. Is there any solution to make a better fit for the nh35?
Sorry for my Bad english and thank you :-)
@jbwatchmods there was a movement spacer in the case which fit perfectly for my nh35, but when i put it in, i cant close the case. I dont understand to put it in the right position...
Very strange. You can email me a picture or vid and i can try and help out: jb.watchmods@gmail.com
how much is long your crown stand template?
Approximately 15mm
How do you know when it’s at 12 o clock??
The date will change when your at 12am
Hey man thanks for the video, I was wondering how much should the crown stem be in length (so how much should I cut), also if someone wanted to resize the watch how coild you do so
Hey! The crown stem length for this 40mm case is roughly 15mm without the crown attached.
By resizing the watch I'm assuming you mean the bracelet? The bracelet has links which can be removed by undoing the screws in the bracelet
Where did you buy the dial with seiko logo on it?
Link in the description :)
What do you do if you dont have the hand setting tool
There is a tool that looks similar to a screw driver, its basically a free hand hand setting tool
Hey Jbwatchmods, just wondering whether my watch should still be winding as I screw the crown down (or have I cut the stem too short ??
Totally normal for it to still be winding as you screw it down 🙂
@@jbwatchmods Thanks 👍
that little click says that you are on 12 o´clock ? or how do you know without seeing it?
Yeah correct! That little click indicates the date changing, meaning the movement is at 12:00am
how i now its 12 o clock when i turn it
The date will change when your at 12am
Ive got a question...wouldnt putting the caseback with gasket in lube transfer some lube close to or on the moment?... ive been building watches for about over a year and was always told/taught to take gasket off and lube it and reinstall - keep up the video's I'm really enjoying them!
My gasket lube is quite old and dry so there is very minimal getting put onto the case back. But I would agree and say definitely best practice to lubricate the gasket on its own!
i tried to built the watch but the stem gets stuck when i want to change the time. i can change the time but it gets stuck on the time change when i want to put it back to neutral. what should i do?
It sounds like you may have cut the stem too short. you'll need to get another stem and make it a little longer
@@jbwatchmods thnx man
I love this build! I really want to make my own one. Can you update the links to the parts if you can please? I want to try order a similar build.
Links updated :)
@@jbwatchmods Awesome, thank you!
What is the total cost of the build?
All parts are linked in the description :)
Can i use the steel stem crown kit that comes with the movement?
Definitely!
How do you find good supplier ?
Honestly it is just trial and error, a lot of bad parts out there!
Do you need all the tools?
Makes it a lot easier with all the tools!
Whats the red thing called?
Not sure what your referring to, but I think you may mean the hand press
how much would you sell that for
Pricing in the link :)

Can you please Share the links for exactly this Watch but 40mm?
All links are in the description. 40mm uses the same parts, just larger case :)

@@jbwatchmodsso everything stays the same including the dial size at 28.5mm ?
@@gemmerson12 Yep
Great tutorial! Thank you so much bro! 🫶🏼
Your welcome!
Looks great!! You make itlook easy😅 I want to make one of my self no logo. For entertainment. What movement did you used?
Thanks! Ive had a lot of practise lol. I used an NH35 movement for this one, there's heaps of parts available for them and they're relatively cheap as well!
@@jbwatchmods thanks got to give it a try
Nice video mate, could you perhaps measure the the crown stem and tell me the length as i'm building a very similar watch with a nh35 movement and don;t want to have to guesstimate how short to cut it, thanks!
Thanks! My reference stem is 15mm long. Id make my first cut around 17mm, thats for a 40mm case size
@@jbwatchmods Thanks!
my dial is loose in the case but i ordered everything to match
Hi, it may be the wrong size dial for the case, or the case may require a spacer to hold the movement in properly. Feel free to email me for more help! jb.watchmods@gmail.com
@@jbwatchmods Send!!
Hey i belive you can use NH38 movements for dials without no date window
I'm not sure tho
Nevermind it's cheaper this way
You can certainly use an NH38!
@@jbwatchmods yeahh but NH38S are more expensive
So thats why I see people ignore the date option on a 35🤔
waw u r pro keep going brro
Thankyou :)
Hi, great Video! Thank You.
When i order a Dial from aliexpress, is there a seiko branding on it? The Product pictures are without any branding and the buyer feedback pics are with seiko branding.
Thanks a lot!
Hi, Thanks! When buying from Ali, you need to make sure the listing says "with logo", or "s dial" if you want the seiko logo.
Hope that helps!
Why not just buy it ready from Ali already made
Where's the fun in that!?
Cuando unes el movimiento con la caja del reloj deberías usar un pequeño cojinete para el reloj.
Y así no deslizar el movimiento y la caja sobre la mesa de trabajo.
that dial is beautiful
It is stunning!
I dont understand if this is a real Seiko or just parts from aliexpress?? And why is it called a Seiko mod if it’s fake and are you allowed to sell it then?
Internal parts are the same as any seiko watch, you call it a seiko mod to seperate it from a seiko
Great mod. Please tell me how to order dial with SEIKO descpition?
Link in description for dial with seiko logo :)
