    For repairing larger pads and traces where those pieces are too small, copper tape works wonderfully!

    Inspiring, as usual! Manufacturer video for the replacement traces shows laying down a very thin layer of solder mask underneath the new copper. I recommend this approach.

      Thanks for sending in the pads. I honestly wanted the pads to be free and flexible, rather then fixed. I'll try solder mask under in a different scenario. I appreciate the suggestion.

      i have tried few times on donor boards as practice. Soldermask was to thick and pads drowned :D but it is a good idea if done correctly. Hard to do tho.

    Your skills are amazing. You make it look so easy. I've repair my share or consoles and attempted my first HDMI replacement and didn't go so good. I was very discouraged but decided to go ahead and order a microscope and other tools. Thank you for your videos

    Even with the missing and cut down footage, this video shows just how good he is at what he does.
    I know from experience, that was a bitch of a repair. Those pad strips showed their worth in this repair as well.

    Those pads are tiny, good job on fixing the pads and traces and incredible skills getting up and running, fixed a friends ps4 hdmi port today i havn't done any soldering in years but i didnt lift any pads thank god, all working again thanks to videos like this. You guys rock, its far from easy.

    I just finished successfully replacing my first nintendo switch usb-c port, that was only possible with the help of this mans videos. Let me tell you, he makes this job look so easy but it is far from it. I'm working with a hakko fx-888 with a good a selection of tips, a cheap hot air station, a cheap digital microscope and a hand held magnifying glass. But I know it would'nt have been any easier if Id been sitting at his bench using his more expensive equipment. Thank you so much for this channel Alex, kindest regards from Australia.

    I have been using copper tape and a scalpel to do replace traces and pads like this. You've convinced me to get the precut ones to make life easier.

    Awesome job indeed! I must say everytime I see previous repair attempt the flux cleanup looks terrible but clearly you cleanup the flux residue much better than others 👍

    I work for a repair shop and I had to do trace work on a Xbox One S. Customer came in with a the hdmi port completely off the motherboard. I had to trace three wires to the hdmi port. I was blown away once I fixed it. It was my first hdmi repair and first trace work repair. Seeing your reaction at 12:40 was very similar to how I felt once I saw the screen light up. I love your videos!

    I loooove when non technician people try to repair something like that. In lot of cases, regular repair like change usb or hdmi port becomes to a disaster :)

    We say no more than 3 pads but we always spend more time than we should. Looked messy but worked out in the end.
    Good job. I should get some of those pads. If you put some cover over pads and scratch them off they will hold better.

    Coincidentally had to do this same repair a little over a week ago but on a PS5 with 9 ripped pads, it took me hours but I managed to do it, I’ll never understand how you can do these so fast man 😄
