Since you bring up the beat imo Paul kohler is by far one of the most underrated drummers ever.. he’s not the best in terms of all our crazy shit but the way the man can bring it all together and make you feel shear emotion just from drums. It’s insane and truly beautiful. The man’s work is legendary

"Smile in Your Sleep" by Silverstein, is not only a certified throwback banger bop, but it is also the quintessential archetype of what a Post-Hardcore/Emo track should be. Everything about it reeks of that sound/era. The structure, flow, lyrics, breakdown, and singing vs screaming ratio.

This is legit the best band of last 20 years … no other band even compares with the quality and consistency of their releases. Same guys in the band the whole time too besides 1 guitar player. Crazy, I go to their shows in NJ and NY. They bring tears to my eyes
I originally thought SF was better, but after about 2 albums it was clear Silverstein was better, and it's not even been close.

What I love, and what makes this profile more genuine, is that he is confused by the first 'breakdown'. He doesn't know of the format of posthardcore and the direction the music went. He still enjoys it though and still appreciates it. He's more genuine than most gatekeepers. The last Silverstein show I saw, Hawthorne Heights supported. I like this band. But some exclusive Hawthorne Heights fans genuinely abused them like I was at a football darby match. Its living in the past against appreciating success.
I think everybody else is a poser. But bro, I love you. The main point of a reaction is to make the people that can't show you this song, getting the chance to show you something, show a friend a song when they can't. Even more fun when then friend they show, is a bruv. Thanks so much for letting me re-live the authenticity of music we like and share it.
