- Is this the most editable, hand-on hardware FM synthesizer? I think so. Korg commissioned myself and another guy to do some custom presets for this. The day we had them ready to go is they day this was sadly discontinued. So...enjoy these sixteen presets I've made at the link below. It's a great synth, easy to edit once you get the hang of it, assuming you have a grasp on FM synthesis works. A 61-key version would be cool to see - or 49 at the very least. Maybe someday? (Edit: They did just that!)

Patches: drive.google.c...
the preset on drive dont work ... maybe a wrong file
I don’t understand Korg’s marketing strategies. If they released this and the other two as a module, they could’ve gained a lot more customers. It’s not like their keyboards are that great
Is this the most like 80 modern synth. Let me know cause I wanna chekc a good synth out with 80s sounds the I can make chords with also make a song with jsut the bass notes. I wanna rap and sing.
Yes! A future classic for sure!
My Opsix is my master keyboard controlling my whole studio from my MPC. Sure, I have my ESQ-1, SY77, Emax, and EX5, all boards that have much better keyboard action and in some cases aftertouch, so why would I keep the notoriously plasticky keybed of the Opsix as my controller? Because this synth is so damn fast with sound design! There isn’t a sound I’ve tried to create that the Opsix doesn’t oblige with ease.
Everything from classic FM EPs, basses, and bells to realistic metal guitar, sitar, and 808s, and of course all manner of digital mayhem! If it only had complex envelopes then it would be pretty close to perfect for me.
Well said.i am sick of reading people commenting about the keybed and the lack of 61 keys. This synth engine is nothing short of amazing. Its all about the sounds
Or music you make with it - not about the keybed.
Can i open the presets you made in native plug in version?
I would assume so, but I don’t have the plugin to confirm
The full price would've been justified if they just added a better keyboard with aftertouch. I'm so glad I bought this on sale though because the layout is probably the best I've seen on an fm synth, making it easy to come up with new patches.
Sounds sooo rich, really need to find one before they disappear
Such a great sounding synth.
It's INCREDIBLE. And virtually limitless
Well those sounds are fantastic!! Any chance of uploading the right files for a download so that it works?
Thanks!
Very nice synth, but I prefer keyboards with 61 keys.
Okay 👍
@@mezzafinook There is a 61 key version now. With aftertouch IIRC.
Thank you very much for your very good sounds. I wish you the best 🤩
Are you sure the Opsix is discontinued? While it's not on Sweetwater, it can still be bought from Thomann. If it was, why do you think? If there's new stuff I want to see from Korg, it would be a RADIAS successor, a RADIAS/MS2000 emulation, and an additive hardware synth.
Definitely discontinued. Sweetwater just sold all they had before Thomann did. I was told why they stopped it but…I forget 😅
@@tritonrecordings Hmm, maybe due to a part shortage
Beautiful!
We want mini keys like the reface/hydrasynth explorer
