    I swear to god when people look back at our time, people like Nobuo Uematsu are who will be seen as the Beethovens and Mozarts. Composers of video games are some of the most prodigal musicians and music makers alive. The lasting impact Uematsu will have on music composition I think will far surpass what most today would predict.

    • @ItsSVO
      @ItsSVO 3 месяца назад +19

      Sadly his work won’t be heard by as many as it deserves to so I’d have to disagree with you. Nobuo should be in the conversation with the likes of today’s greatest composers though for certain if there were any justice. How he pumped out the soundtracks for 7, 8, 9 and 10 in such a minuscule amount of time is beyond comprehension. He’s the Hans Zimmer of video game composition for me, their work is so integral to the films/games they work on and connect with you on a level I can’t explain.

    It's heartwarming to see someone who's music has been such a big part of my life get up on stage and just have a ball playing what's easily his magnum opus. For people who don't know baroque music, Uematsu basically wrote an entire tocatta and fugue. He then performed them on stage with VERY minimal errors. Just writing it is impressive, but so is playing it... especially at his age. Such a great time watching this.

    Dancing Mad is Uematsu's masterpiece. Birth of a God and One Winged Angel from FF7 don't even compare to this nearly 18 minute epic for the best villain in the series (Kefka).

    • @InDzienInTampa
      @InDzienInTampa 9 месяцев назад +23

      There's actual fuege that'd make Bach blush. Dancing Mad is incredibly underrated, but among SNES-era FF fans, we know what the true gem is. Soundtrack was limited by the technology of its time, but surprised most new fans cast it aside since VII is the one getting all the remake hype.
      If they did a VI today, it'd be rated M-- if done well. It's dark. Triggering...and the villain actually wins (for all intents and purposes) before you beat the game.

      Not only it is Uematsu's masterpiece, but it is A masterpiece as far as music goes. The amount of research, technicity, creativity, and love he poured onto it in absolutely insane (no pun intended). He onece said he would never consider it finished in his lifetime, as he always finds way to alter, improve and have fun with it. It can be played in ANY style and genre, and as a matter of fact it has been, not only by fans but by Uematsu himself. I think most people underestimate what it takes to create and refine such a piece. It's on a level very few musicians can comprehend and achieve.

    I can that guarantee that music composers of the NES and SNES era. people like Nobu Uematsu, Kenji Yamamoto, Koji Kondo, Yasunori Mitsuda, and so many others. Never thought that in 30+ years their music would have such a lasting impression.
