- To celebrate International Women’s Day, an all-female flight crew from Ethiopian Airlines flew from Addis Ababa to Washington D.C. The flight marked the sixth consecutive year the airline has made the symbolically important flight with a female crew. VOA Amharic journalists Habtamu Seyoum and Eden Geremew attended the welcoming ceremony at Washington Dulles International Airport and VOA's Salem Solomon has the details.

Congratulations! I and many Sudanese are proud to see such a great achievements for African women and our brothers in Ethiopia.I personally when I saw the first all female crew,tears of joy came from eyes. We are proud of you.I had wonderfu memories in Addis Ababa as l ived for 10 months there before 24 years.I feel Ethiopia is my second home.I played music on saxphone at MG Bolly Road those lovely days.Whenever I get a chance to travel to Canada,Kuwai and Sudan ,Ethiopian Airlines is my favourite.Wish you a the best at all times.

I really enjoyed my flight on Ethiopian when I went from London - Addis Abbaba - Seychelles a couple of years ago. The hostesses were generally beautiful
The symbolic and highly talented EAL is always achieving very new records. Becouse( every thing is possible in Ethiopian Air Lines organization.) I remember while I was in Ethiopia before 35 years I have been trained by EAL about three to four time. I know this is the only organization which is very uptodate and got world standards. I remember had a chance to visited all the departments during the training time it was very unique and fast communication, the cross checking, and Pannal control methods all. Same time you can't see them in un international org. abroad.
Hope EAL is still the same and becomes an example for Africa and some other world org.

Well done to all ! No question that women are able to do what men can. However, I feel that the nation is starting to break the glass ceiling to bring women forward to the platform equal to men that it can use their untapped potential.

it's an all women special flight to motivate women to join the under-represented types of professions. They are very few in the proportion almost non-existent. But i get your point though.
