- Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio recently met with U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House which he described as constructive and “a productive reset of relations between Washington and Africa.”
In an exclusive interview with VOA’s Peter Clottey, the West African leader highlights how relations with U.S. will benefit his country and discusses other issues such as women empowerment and violent protests that broke out amid the elections in June.

Lip service does not equals to development; neither is partisan an ingredients of bringing the country together. Inclusiveness is totally absent in your development. Why are the investors not coming. Political climate and lack of clear define policy is totally absence in your administration. Working hard for your reelection is key to giving the people what you promise them. We need tangible results, not lip service.
President Bio is diverting the answer to his strength area: education, the girl child.....But in actual fact these areas are still down trodden because of the absence of effective skills training and jobs .....As everyone knows even FBC has no fully equipped laboratories or the well paid qualified staff.... A cleaner at state house earns more than a lecturer at university or a school teacher.....Reforms are needed everywhere and not just pay for politicians 🙄

You drive investors away by high taxation and also empty the central bank by your numerous travel and since you came in governance it's one trip to another so how can you discharge your responsibilities.
I feel for him, he is one of the most challenged leader. All our leadership has good dreams for our beloved nation but couldn't succeed due to variety of reasons. Misplaced priority, serve more of the foreign agenda/policy.
His US relations has been strained because they see him as a storming block to foster their interests.
