  • Sierra Leone’s Education Minister David Moinina Sengeh says that his country’s decision to lift a decade-old ban on allowing pregnant girls in school did not come easy. It required courage to speak up, speak out, and persuade a president to change his views and his policies. That’s how Sengeh, played an instrumental role in Sierra Leone’s shift to include pregnant girls in the classroom, and give them a chance to succeed. He’s written a book about that experience. It’s part parable, part practical guide to changing the systems that perpetuate exclusion in everyday life. And like all roadmaps, David Sengeh’s begins at home.

I wish he can write a book about diversity and tribe inclusion in Sierra Leone instead of his Mende tribe dominating, killing, and intimidating other tribes since his government came to power. The diversity and inclusion that is not implemented in the country is what is making this damn Paopa government a big failure, one damn tribe can’t govern Sierra Leone. Period!

Full Includion in the Sierra Leone context must address not only physical, mental and emotional disabilities, but also class, tribalism, sexism and male chauvinism, age and the sophistigated traditional secret societies creating the undervalued "others" who do not belong to such secret societies. Full Inclusion does not mean very child must be in school as they have a right to education and schooling regardless of their physical, mental and emotional state.

Please consult with me, Mr.. Moinina Sengeh, to further enlighten you on the origin, the context, and historical development of "Full Inclusion", dating as far back as the 1960s, right through the 1970s and late 1980s when the recognition of "visible minority" as distinct society, gained momentum not only in Canada, but worldwide, including the Aboriginal Groups and First Nations.
The French in Canada, claimed to be a "Distinct Society", in the 1980s, and thus openning up a can of worms for all visible minorities, identified by racial and feminist movements, quite different from the " Melting Pot" approoach in the United States.
