All of the best current stories have been in place since before Vince left the first time like bloodline , Cody , Gunther , judgement day/Dominic and Logan most of the people hhh brought in didn't do much and he got rid of a bunch of good talent like ridlle , boots mace, mansoor , Shelton and dolph and McAfee left because Vince left . his only good decisions were punk and LA knight ! The legends like cena , rock , Austin and Brock are still loyal to Vince !

U can’t waste this story that has been narrated very well for over 3 years by having Roman either win or lose to the rock at wrestlemania. If u have that match vs the rock at wrestlemania then in my opinion it ruins everything Roman and the bloodline have done for the past 3 years and what Cody has gone through in his return to wwe. I don't think that record really matters because no one will ever beat Bruno's 8 years. No matter what he'll only ever be #2. WWE might be wanting to distance themselves from Hogan though but to me if he doesn't have a shot at #1 why even bother.

The matches i think are locks for Mania are: 1. Lesner vs Gunther (IC Title) - Story line will be built around Gunther Streak vs Lesnar never having won the IC title 2. LA Knight vs Logan Paul (US Title) - They have been building to the match all year. 3. Rhea vs Jade - To most physically imposing Women. 4. CM Punk vs Seth - no need to explain
But don't forget, a majority of Social media "revenue" was due to LA Knight, John Cena, The Rock's return (w/ Austin Theory), Logan Paul and Ricochet and then CM Punk's return. All that could/did result devoid of Roman Reigns directly.

Randy vs Roman at Royal Rumble. Randy takes title due to The Rock interfering. Randy and Cody at Wrestlemania for title. Rock and Roman at Wrestlemania for Head of the Table. This is very easy and gets everyone where they need to go.
I agree with you Mark, Cody doesn't NEED to finish his story yet. He could finish and start multiple chapters and hell, he could do a 2 year heel run and face other heels at the big events and still get the crowd behind him... (I still consider Stone Cold one of the best heelish babyfaces as he did his Undertaker, Rock, HHH matches.) I think it could work for Cody to go heel against Randy. When it's all said and done, he still has years of wrestling left in his career and can get that dream and story "finished" 2-3 years from now, giving time for other character storylines to be built and honed in. This would cultivate Cody's bigger challenges after winning the championship that just aren't there right now. They will not be able to duplicate the successful story with Brock, that seemed manufactured and cheap until the payoff, which only Brock would be able to turn into the successful most meaningful storyline Cody's had so far.
WWE needs to sell out 60K seats at Elimination Chamber in Australia. They’ve sold like 40K, so they need another 20K fans. It’s gonna be a huge show and Rock V Roman is happening at EC. This way Cody gets to have his WM main event story and Punk/Rollins gets a main event.
I've filled three polls from different wrestling podcasts. I was surprised at how many people want Roman vs Cody at WM more than Roman vs Rock at WM. The latter is a part-timer vs part-timer championship match which does no good to fans post mania. And I'm glad true wrestling fans recognize that.

Honestly I think 1 of 2 things would be the most logical route as it pertains to the rock. The Rock isn’t going to come back full time, he might to a bit similar to what Cena did this most recent run. It’s intirely entirely depending on what ongoing film contracts he has going on. That being said, the “head of the table” doesn’t mean universal champion. Cody finishing his story is not conditional to defeating Roman, although that would be ideal because you don’t want to bury somebody else by making them an transitional champion. So Cody defeats Roman, then the rock strips the title of “head of the table” leading to a family battle for that title. Eventually give it to Jay as a new successor still and turning the bloodline baby face for a while

It's hard to imagine any matchup where Cody isn't somehow in the main event of Mania...he's their top selling star, their top merchandise mover (we'll see how Punk fares out by end of 2024 I imagine he may overtake) I just hope somehow Cody remains in the mix and can finish his story. They certainly still have him talking about it which means they haven't abandoned it.

I have the best scenario - Cody accidentally causes Randy to lose his RR match when trying to help him fight off the bloodline, Punk wins the Rumble to choose Seth, on the next monday Cody gives a sad and defeated speech about not being able to finish the story, runs into the Judgement Day in the Hallway, they mock him and R-Truth goads Damien to put his briefcase on the line against Cody. Cody wins. The next week Randy comes on Raw pissed at Cody for stealing his opportunity and challenges Cody at Mania for the briefcase. Seth and punk main event night 1, cody and randy open night 2 with cody winning but appears injured or stretchered out , Rock vs Roman main events night 2, roman win, and then cody comes out in a neckbrace or looking injured and challeges roman who is tired. They go back in forth for 10 mins, Cody wins!
I think WWE used this year to see how over Cody Rhodes is over Roman Reigns and if having Cody the face of the company will pay off and any future creative plans will be based off that.

Never has been the main even of WM been so chaotic I mean we used to know the main even maybe ages before. Here's the possiblities I can remember : 1- Seth Vs Punk 2- Roman vs Rock 3- Cody vs Roman 4- Punk vs Roman 5- Punk vs Rock (I mean, if you thin about it, it's 10+ years in the making) 6- Cody vs Seth 7- Randy vs Cody 8- A totally unpredictable Royal Rumble winner Seth, Punk, Roman, Rock, Cody, Randy, any combination of those wrestlers, could main event Wrestlemania Not to mention if they went crazy and had some shenanigans with LA Knight or AJ Styles. This is the most convoluted Main Event scene we've ever had on WWE when it has been Roman vs the flavor of the year for about 10 years.
This is how I'd book this entire Roman situation. Roman beats Randy at the Royal Rumble Jimmy and Solo cost Cody the men's rumble match Cody randomly shows up on SmackDown and attacks The Bloodline. Cody vs Roman at Mania. As Solo and Jimmy get involved in the match out comes Rock. Rock takes out Jimmy and Solo. Cody capitalizes on a distracted Roman with cross-rhoades. Cody finishes the story by becoming champion. Rock helping Cody win at Mania is a way to set up Roman vs Rock at SummerSlam. Roman vs The Rock, Cody vs Randy and another Seth vs CM Punk match would make SummerSlam a must watch show.

People don’t understand is that when you put Roman vs Rock at Elimination chamber, it makes the stakes for wrestlemania even HIGHER. Practically launching the notability of the venue that it’s never been before.
This match is happening at Elimination Chamber. If you have a problem with how early/late it is just know I, like most international fans, watched Day 1 at 3am, or whatever ungodly hour they have to deal with it. That's just Day 1. Raw Smackdown, NXT, even PLEs. This is one PLE, with one match people really want to watch. You know the outcome of that match so stop using that as an excuse for you to mark out.
Rock said on College Gameday months ago. That it was going to be him vs Roman at Mania 39. He had a meeting with the top brass. The meeting went great, it was going to happen. But said something how it fell through. And didn't say why. I think it was a "who's going to win" problem. So it wasn't supposed to be Roman vs Cody at Mania. I still wanted Cody to beat Roman though.
What im interested in to see of this storyline is if it calls up ava raine to the main roster or at least a cross show storyline involving her. If they do it right it could be the next mcmahon/hemsley faction.

How I would book it: Rock def. Roman, Priest cashes in. Orton feuds with Roman. Priest feuds with Cody. Cody finishes the story and feuds with Orton. Orton gets a final title run including feuds w/ Rhodes, Cena, and Reigns. Meanwhile Punk and Knight can feud with Rollins/each other. All creating heavy top cards. Now line your mid-card with your Judgment Day members, NXT champions and other tag teams in factions. (Bullet Club on WWE? Shinsuke, Cody, Finn, Good Brothers, Kenny Omega signing perhaps?) They would be head and shoulders above all promotions for another decade or two, no doubts or worries at all.

Here's an idea: Rock costs Roman at RR. This sets up Rock v Roman in the main event of night 1. Randy enters WM as champion. Punk wins the RR and challenges Seth for the WHC at WM in the main event of night 2. Cody finds a way via EC to book his ticket at Mania by challenging Randy for the title. This way we get Rock v Roman, Cody finishes his story, and CM Punk finally main events WM and becomes WHC.
I mean, that seems most logical and probable. It is WWE, and even some times for better (though, not often), they do not always go obvious or simple. This would be a great time to do the simple/obvious still. Lol
Roman being the top heel champion is what made possible for WWE to have stacked main event baby faces. Sami was bigger baby face than Cody last year. I like having Seth VS CM Punk as the opening match on night 2 with Rock Roman going last and it kicking off heel CM Punk as he rages against being promised the main event and getting screwed again.
Weird point that Bully ended on that I definitely don’t agree with. “If Cody is champ you take away the bloodline, heyman, the usos, etc”. No you don’t. You’ve got Cody holding the title in an elevated position, AND you’ve got the bloodline story continuing, as evidence by all the chatter earlier in the show when you both were talking about Rock vs Roman and how it didn’t even need the title to be a massive match. Loved the show. Weird final point. And yes, with Cody at the top you still do gangbuster numbers. WWE has done an amazing job at making the promotion/brand/company the biggest asset; not just one person. Cody proved this year he can carry the ball, and the company is bigger than a single champ anyways.
Remember when Rock came back and said “I’m never leaving again”? And then he left immediately. So we will have to wait and see if this turns into anything at all.
The logic here is crazy, ignoring the big picture. While I get hardcore fans want Cody to have his moment, that's secondary to putting on the biggest match they possibly could, at Mania. It's highly unlikely the Rock would come back for what is likely his last match for anything other than an undefeated Roman in the main event. The new TKO ownership will demand maximum from Mania and Cody is well below Roman, Rock, Punk & even Orton is providing that. Maybe Cody gets his moment next year, but it's delusional to believe he's that big a star that the company ignores the big picture and passes on the only opportunity they'll get to make the Roman v Rock match
Honestly, people were worried Cody would cool after WM39 when he went into a feud with Lesnar, and he didn't. Why would he cool after WM40 if he kicks off an epic long-term personal storyline with Randy that night? If the creative stays good over the rest of this year, where's the rush? Honestly, if you're gonna do Rock/Roman, you do it a) as the last match at Mania, b) whenever Rock's available and c) before he gets too old to go. Guy's in great shape but he's not a full-time athlete. I'm 100% behind doing that match at WM40 for the title - we all know Roman would be going over, after all. All evidence from how Triple H booked NXT shows he does not miss with long-term arcs. Does. Not. Miss. Do Rock/Roman, Cody/Randy and Punk/Rollins this year, and clear the decks for Cody's huge moment further down the road, even the following year. There are SO MANY great stories to tell in the meantime. Trust the process. People thought WWE had blown it after WM39 last year, and here we are on the road to what's being talked about as a possible all-timer in WM40. Bit of perspective needed.
This just shows HHH is now letting us see the effect of long term storyline now people are more excited to go PLEs because of his stories!
All of the best current stories have been in place since before Vince left the first time like bloodline , Cody , Gunther , judgement day/Dominic and Logan most of the people hhh brought in didn't do much and he got rid of a bunch of good talent like ridlle , boots mace, mansoor , Shelton and dolph and McAfee left because Vince left . his only good decisions were punk and LA knight ! Randy vs Roman at Royal Rumble. Randy takes title due to The Rock interfering. Randy and Cody at Wrestlemania for title. Rock and Roman at Wrestlemania for Head of the Table. This is very easy and gets everyone where they need to go.
I agree with you Mark, Cody doesn't NEED to finish his story yet. He could finish and start multiple chapters and hell, he could do a 2 year heel run and face other heels at the big events and still get the crowd behind him... (I still consider Stone Cold one of the best heelish babyfaces as he did his Undertaker, Rock, HHH matches.) I think it could work for Cody to go heel against Randy. When it's all said and done, he still has years of wrestling left in his career and can get that dream and story "finished" 2-3 years from now, giving time for other character storylines to be built and honed in. This would cultivate Cody's bigger challenges after winning the championship that just aren't there right now. They will not be able to duplicate the successful story with Brock, that seemed manufactured and cheap until the payoff, which only Brock would be able to turn into the successful most meaningful storyline Cody's had so far.
WWE needs to sell out 60K seats at Elimination Chamber in Australia. They’ve sold like 40K, so they need another 20K fans. It’s gonna be a huge show and Rock V Roman is happening at EC. This way Cody gets to have his WM main event story and Punk/Rollins gets a main event.

I've filled three polls from different wrestling podcasts. I was surprised at how many people want Roman vs Cody at WM more than Roman vs Rock at WM. The latter is a part-timer vs part-timer championship match which does no good to fans post mania. And I'm glad true wrestling fans recognize that.

Honestly I think 1 of 2 things would be the most logical route as it pertains to the rock. The Rock isn’t going to come back full time, he might to a bit similar to what Cena did this most recent run. It’s intirely entirely depending on what ongoing film contracts he has going on.
That being said, the “head of the table” doesn’t mean universal champion. Cody finishing his story is not conditional to defeating Roman, although that would be ideal because you don’t want to bury somebody else by making them an transitional champion. So Cody defeats Roman, then the rock strips the title of “head of the table” leading to a family battle for that title. Eventually give it to Jay as a new successor still and turning the bloodline baby face for a while

It's hard to imagine any matchup where Cody isn't somehow in the main event of Mania...he's their top selling star, their top merchandise mover (we'll see how Punk fares out by end of 2024 I imagine he may overtake) I just hope somehow Cody remains in the mix and can finish his story. They certainly still have him talking about it which means they haven't abandoned it.

Cody wins. The next week Randy comes on Raw pissed at Cody for stealing his opportunity and challenges Cody at Mania for the briefcase. Seth and punk main event night 1, cody and randy open night 2 with cody winning but appears injured or stretchered out , Rock vs Roman main events night 2, roman win, and then cody comes out in a neckbrace or looking injured and challeges roman who is tired. They go back in forth for 10 mins, Cody wins!

Rock helping Cody win at Mania is a way to set up Roman vs Rock at SummerSlam.
Roman vs The Rock, Cody vs Randy and another Seth vs CM Punk match would make SummerSlam a must watch show.

@@ianfitton9400 The venue in Perth holds over 70,000 people, I'd hardly say Roman vs Rock would be a waste. And you have no idea what Rock's schedule is, he might not even be available in April. It doesn't even matter what the main event if Mania is, it's still going to sell out both nights without announcing a match.

People don’t understand is that when you put Roman vs Rock at Elimination chamber, it makes the stakes for wrestlemania even HIGHER. Practically launching the notability of the venue that it’s never been before.
This match is happening at Elimination Chamber.
If you have a problem with how early/late it is just know I, like most international fans, watched Day 1 at 3am, or whatever ungodly hour they have to deal with it. That's just Day 1. Raw Smackdown, NXT, even PLEs.
This is one PLE, with one match people really want to watch. You know the outcome of that match so stop using that as an excuse for you to mark out.
Rock said on College Gameday months ago. That it was going to be him vs Roman at Mania 39. He had a meeting with the top brass. The meeting went great, it was going to happen. But said something how it fell through. And didn't say why. I think it was a "who's going to win" problem. So it wasn't supposed to be Roman vs Cody at Mania. I still wanted Cody to beat Roman though.
What im interested in to see of this storyline is if it calls up ava raine to the main roster or at least a cross show storyline involving her. If they do it right it could be the next mcmahon/hemsley faction.
Rollins vs punk to open night one. Cody vs Randy to face the winner of Rock Roman on night one. Cody vs Roman night two. I don't think it would be a problem to watch them wrestle twice.

How I would book it:
Rock def. Roman, Priest cashes in. Orton feuds with Roman. Priest feuds with Cody.
Cody finishes the story and feuds with Orton. Orton gets a final title run including feuds w/ Rhodes, Cena, and Reigns. Meanwhile Punk and Knight can feud with Rollins/each other. All creating heavy top cards. Now line your mid-card with your Judgment Day members, NXT champions and other tag teams in factions. (Bullet Club on WWE? Shinsuke, Cody, Finn, Good Brothers, Kenny Omega signing perhaps?) They would be head and shoulders above all promotions for another decade or two, no doubts or worries at all.

Why can’t the rock cost Roman the belt at royal rumble, than you get Cody telling Randy he didn’t want it to be him, but that’s what it’s gotta be. So Cody gets a title shot at Mania from winning Elimination Chamber. Cody vs Randy mania, Roman challenges Rock for head of the table after rock costs him the belt at the rumble. Roman vs Rock mania. and CM Punk wins Rumble challenges Seth. Seth vs Punk at mania. 2 night 3 main event wrestlemaniaaaaa! and Rhea vs Banks could be huge if she ever returns. That’s a crazy mania card!

Here's an idea:
Rock costs Roman at RR. This sets up Rock v Roman in the main event of night 1.
Randy enters WM as champion.
Punk wins the RR and challenges Seth for the WHC at WM in the main event of night 2.
Cody finds a way via EC to book his ticket at Mania by challenging Randy for the title.
This way we get Rock v Roman, Cody finishes his story, and CM Punk finally main events WM and becomes WHC.
I mean, that seems most logical and probable. It is WWE, and even some times for better (though, not often), they do not always go obvious or simple. This would be a great time to do the simple/obvious still. Lol
Roman being the top heel champion is what made possible for WWE to have stacked main event baby faces. Sami was bigger baby face than Cody last year. Once Cody enter Roman's radar Cody become the bigger baby face. Roman has the presence that elevate others and make them the top baby face (like Jey,Cody,Sami,Brock,Drew). Does Cody can do the same thing ?

I like having Seth VS CM Punk as the opening match on night 2 with Rock Roman going last and it kicking off heel CM Punk as he rages against being promised the main event and getting screwed again.
Weird point that Bully ended on that I definitely don’t agree with. “If Cody is champ you take away the bloodline, heyman, the usos, etc”. No you don’t. You’ve got Cody holding the title in an elevated position, AND you’ve got the bloodline story continuing, as evidence by all the chatter earlier in the show when you both were talking about Rock vs Roman and how it didn’t even need the title to be a massive match.
Loved the show. Weird final point. And yes, with Cody at the top you still do gangbuster numbers. WWE has done an amazing job at making the promotion/brand/company the biggest asset; not just one person. Cody proved this year he can carry the ball, and the company is bigger than a single champ anyways.
Remember when Rock came back and said “I’m never leaving again”? And then he left immediately. So we will have to wait and see if this turns into anything at all.

While I get hardcore fans want Cody to have his moment, that's secondary to putting on the biggest match they possibly could, at Mania. It's highly unlikely the Rock would come back for what is likely his last match for anything other than an undefeated Roman in the main event.
The new TKO ownership will demand maximum from Mania and Cody is well below Roman, Rock, Punk & even Orton is providing that.
Maybe Cody gets his moment next year, but it's delusional to believe he's that big a star that the company ignores the big picture and passes on the only opportunity they'll get to make the Roman v Rock match

Honestly, people were worried Cody would cool after WM39 when he went into a feud with Lesnar, and he didn't. Why would he cool after WM40 if he kicks off an epic long-term personal storyline with Randy that night? If the creative stays good over the rest of this year, where's the rush?
Honestly, if you're gonna do Rock/Roman, you do it a) as the last match at Mania, b) whenever Rock's available and c) before he gets too old to go. Guy's in great shape but he's not a full-time athlete. I'm 100% behind doing that match at WM40 for the title - we all know Roman would be going over, after all.
All evidence from how Triple H booked NXT shows he does not miss with long-term arcs. Does. Not. Miss. Do Rock/Roman, Cody/Randy and Punk/Rollins this year, and clear the decks for Cody's huge moment further down the road, even the following year. There are SO MANY great stories to tell in the meantime. Trust the process.
People thought WWE had blown it after WM39 last year, and here we are on the road to what's being talked about as a possible all-timer in WM40. Bit of perspective needed.
