One of Sebastian Bach's finest vocal performances, and that's saying a lot.
This song kept me away from drugs I heard it when I was 13 and it stuck... The pain of a friend watching a friend consumed by drugs.
This is my favorite Skid Row song because it has killer vocals from Baz, Snake and Scotti giving a clinic on guitar, and drives home a good message of what drugs can do to you (just look at what heroin did to Steven Adler who’s lucky to be alive). Please Bros, check out their other songs I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, and Sweet Little Sister.

Killer song. Sebastion has a very incredible voice... got to see Skid Row a couple years ago, was disapointed to not get to see Sebastion with them as he was in Australia , however Tony Harnell did a fabulous job on vocals. Snake and Bolan were just down right on fire with their guitar playing. Was about 15 feet in front of Snake, incredible in concert.
Seb Bach was one of the leading male vocalists of my youth, and the songs all speak to me. You should try In A Darkened Room, same band.

Monkey Business by them is a sorely overlooked piece of rock history.
That’s one of the most emotional, powerful songs of all-time,. You guys are doing a great job, of relaying the message of the song, and you work well together.
This song was written about Steven Adler (the original drummer for the band Guns n Roses), and his drug addictions. The bands (Skid Row and Guns n Roses) were good friends. They all struggled with their own drug/alcohol addictions, but Steven Adler's got so bad, that Guns n Roses ended up kicking him out of their band. Sebastian Bach really shows his emotions about this, when he sings the song.
Side note: all of the guys are still alive, including Steven Adler. They all eventually got past their addictions. While neither band, currently has all of the original members, many of them are still friends to this day.

Well, I just realized how old I am. This is what I was listening to in Jr. High. Loudly. My mother hated metal so much!. I actually forgot how gorgeous Sebastian Bach was.

easily one of the greatest rock songs ever written. I saw them last summer in Block Island, RI and listened to the whole album with my friends on my boat on the way out there drinking beers. What a day! Not a cloud in the sky, and dead calm.

Sebastian denied that in some interview, but that doesnt mean its not. Song lyrics like this usually have multiple real life stories combined as one so the song stands the test of time better and not be generational.
There were a lot of drug related deaths in rockn roll and Steven Adler is still alive but probably was an inspiration to the story. Hoping that he'd quit because he wasnt far from being a rock-casualty.

This song was written about Steven Adler from the band Guns n Roses. They became good friends with Steven when they toured with Guns early in their careers. Steven got hooked on H after joining his band and was probably effected the worse out of all the band members. He got kicked out of the band because he couldn't kick the habit. Look him up now. He had a stroke and doesn't function well now. Truly a sad story if there was ever one.
